A secret affair with your teenage celebrity crush? Yes, please!
Music journalist Cassy Evans believes her career is made when she snags an exclusive interview with rock singer Frankie Blade.
Once a superstar of the generation, Frankie has been a recluse since a freak motorcycle incident sent his own career into a tailspin seven years ago. Now that he’s returned to claim back his crown, Cassy … to claim back his crown, Cassy hopes to kill two birds with one stone—secure her magazine a top spot in the rankings and meet with the man of her adolescent dreams.
A dinner invitation isn’t what she expects to get out of this interview, but the chemistry between them is undeniable.
With paparazzi watching Frankie’s every move as the two jump into a stormy relationship, Cassy risks her professional reputation and her privacy—and possibly her heart—to be with the biggest rock star on the planet. But is Frankie worth it? Is he the humble man she thinks he is or is he just that good at hiding his demons?
Final Serenade is the first installment in “The Encore” series. Cassy and Frankie’s story concludes in One Last Verse.

Love! Love N N Britt!!
This book hooked me from page one. I loved watching how Frank and Cassie bonded and I can not wait to read the next book to see where they go from here.
N N Britt is becoming one of my favorite authors!
This book is the first one I’ve read by this author and it was because I lucky enough to win an ARC. It’s a wonderful story that transports you to this larger-than-life rock star’s world. There is a lot going on all the time and I just imagined how it would be, how he’s a rock star in public, but in private is a wonderful, really hot regular human being. There is a lot that isn’t revealed and the story is a cliffhanger. That would usually make me really mad, but somehow with this story I was okay with it. Nevertheless, I wanted to keep reading, it felt like it ended too quickly.
It’s a wonderful book, deserves 5 stars. I can’t wait to read the conclusion of the story!
4.5 rock stars
I loved this story and how the author managed to get all those raw and real feelings with her words throughout the book.
It’s not your usual rock star romance, it’s much more than that and the ending will let you wanting more and that happily ever after asap.
Cassy is a music reporter and she gets the chance to interview former teen rock star Frankie. Frankie has been out of the spotlight for seven years since his accident. Now Frankie is returning to claim the rock star life. Cassy had a crush on Frankie but will he turn out to be a decent person or a disappointment? A dinner invitation will let her know all about him. The chemistry between them is there. An interesting read and I’m looking forward to reading the conclusion to this couple’s story.
This is an amazing rockstar romance! Cassy is a music reporter with strict rules about how she will and will not behave so she doesn’t compromise her integrity. She has a bit of family drama, but she is working through it. Frankie Blade is a very popular singer who has been absent for seven years due to a horrible accident. Frank’s reemergence onto the music scene cause these two to meet and develop a relationship. I loved the characters! Cassy is strong, determined, and I could feel her love and affection for Frank. Frank is so vulnerable, but you can tell he genuinely cares for Cassy. The story is a mix of them navigating their careers, new love, family and health issues. The writing is fantastic and allows the reader to truly connect with the characters. I cried a few times! Beware it does end in a cliffhanger, but book two comes out very soon and I can’t wait! Amazing job N.N. Britt! I was given the opportunity to read a copy of this book.
Final Serenade by N.N. Britt
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
I just finished this book and it ends with a heart pounding cliff hanger!!! Seriously I need the next book like now!!! Ugh!
The story is about a rock band reunion after 7 years. The face of the band was in a terrible accident and it took all of that time for him to recover. Cassy is one of many journalists
interviewing the band, but Frankie can’t take his eyes of her. Their story is sweet and steamy and the way Frankie woos Cassy is nothing short of swoon worthy.
Final Seranade is a fun read not to be missed.
This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. This is Cassy and Frankie’s story. As soon as I started this I couldn’t put it down.
Frankie is the lead vocalist of Hall Affinity. Hall Affinity has had many professional and personal issues leading up to present time. The band is having a reunion after seven years off.
Music journalist, Cassy gets the chance to interview her teenage idol, rockstar, Frankie Blade and unexpectedly sparks fly.
OMG that cliffhanger. I need the next book now. Highly recommend this!
I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
This story captivated me so much from the first page that I found myself reading it straight through in one day! I absolutely loved it!
N.N. Britt truly knows the inner workings of the rock’n roll world. I found myself completely enthralled by Frank and Cassy’s story. Their chemistry was palpable, realistic and deep. The plot and character development progressed smoothly and effortlessly! The emotions, angst levels and that cliffy ending had my heart literally beating out of my chest and gasping at the end! I cannot wait for Book 2, One Last Verse!
I can’t recommend this book enough, A Must Read!
I received an Advance Reader Copy for an honest review.
Cassy and Frankie’s clandestine secret relationship was just what I was in the mood for. There was angst, betrayal, secrets and more blended into this story. It was a perfect mix. Frankie was Cassy’s crush from when she was younger. He’s a rockstar making a comeback after years out of the spotlight. She’s a music journalist. They are the most unlikely of couples…but yet they work….at least in private they do.
Cassy and Frankie venture into their relationship slowly. However, their chemistry is palpable and the attraction builds until it’s evident that they don’t want to be apart. Even though they are trying to keep their relationship private, they spend as much time as possible with one another. Frankie (aka Frank) develops a strong trust in Cassy (aka Cass) and shares a lot of his personal information with her. This is quite a statement of faith, especially considering the fact that she’s a journalist. However, through everything, Cassy senses Frankie is holding something back.
I can’t wait for the second one in this duet to release next month. That was quite the cliffhanger at the end. Thankfully, we only have to wait a month….
When Cassy gets her dream interview with Frankie who was also her teenage crush neither was prepared for what that dinner invite would entail or the possible repercussions from a relationship fallout for anyone to judge but the explosive chemistry that they feel isn’t something they look away from. I loved how Cassy no matter what is comfort to Frankie. But that ending!!!! I need the next part of the duet now
Final Serenade is a story that draws you in, has you on the edge of your seat and has the melody of Frank and Cassy’s connection providing the beat to your heart. This first part to The Encore Duet is heartbreaking, emotional, passionate and soul-stirring. The chemistry between these two will have your skin tingling, your pulse racing and your heart pounding. Frank and Cassy will own you within the first few chapters of their story and feeling completely consumed by them. As you grab your backstage pass to their journey, you will be drawn to the shadows needing to know what is lurking ready to steal the happiness that these two have found in each other. As Final Serenade closes the curtain on this first part of the performance, you will be left hanging by a thread, your heart in your throat and chanting for One Last Verse.
Frankie and Cassy are two people on opposite sides of the music industry who shouldn’t mix on a personal level. Their secret relationship is a scandal waiting to happen and we, as readers, get a front row seat. “When we were alone together, we were everything. But out in public, we were nothing.”
Frankie is the lead vocalist of Hall Affinity…their reunion after seven years is huge news, and Cassy is lucky enough to get an interview. Her job as a music journalist with a small magazine called Rewired is everything to her, so when the rock god she’s had a crush on since she was a young teenager extends an invite to meet for dinner, the conflicts and complications begin. And don’t even get me started on the emotion, the passion, the sex and the steam!
I kept waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop, and drop it did, more than once. I honestly wasn’t expecting the ending…knowing it’s book one in a duet, I was prepared for a cliffhanger, but this ending left me a little shocked and a lot needing book 2!
N.N. Britt’s job as a music journalist herself added a dynamic to this story that we’d never get from anyone else…I sometimes forgot that I was reading fiction. Her knowledge of the music industry is definitely evident and that made this story so much more interesting.
I was really excited to get the ARC for this one since I read the prologue Adrenaline 1999 and wow was it ever worth the wait. I didn’t want this book to end it was so good, then noooo we are left with such a brutal cliffhanger. Now May cannot come fast enough!
What rock music fan has not dreamed of meeting their favourite rock star, and even better have them fall in love with you. When her rock idol Frankie Blade comes back from “the dead” seven years after a bad accident, journalist Cass is beyond thrilled to score interview time with him. When she meets him he is all of her teenage dreams come to life, and seeing him again at a party later that night she is tortured by how hot and sexy Frankie is and that she cannot touch him.
A surprise dinner invitation from Frankie is the beginning of a secret love affair that Cass describes as the” insanity of us”. Cass learns many of Frankie’s secrets and is there to support him when things get too much for him. There is no stopping the juggernaut between them even though it is becoming more and more difficult to hide. As their lives become more and more intertwined Cass’s career could be in jeopardy and her love with Frank might be threatened.
I am a big fan of rock star romances and read many, and this is definitely on my list of most memorable ones that will probably be read time and time again, at least once I have book two! We get to learn how the music business works and how it can swallow people up and just spit them out heartlessly. An original love story with lots of angst and emotions that leaves you with the feeling that you wish it was reality and that it could have happened to you.
Wow, this book pulled me in from the beginning. Cassy and Frankie have got chemistry from the minute she snags an exclusive interview with the recluse rockstar, who she happens to be a fan of. The moment Cassy accepts a dinner invite with Frankie, they take you on a wild, fun, and emotional ride. However, with each having their careers as a concern, Cassy and Frankie decided to keep their relationship in the dark, but will that lead to trouble? Read this book to see what happens with Cassy and Frankie, you won’t be disappointed and only left wanting more and to se what happens. Now we just have to wait for the next book, which can’t come fast enough!
N.N. Britt has officially made it to the TOP of my cliffhanger SH*T LIST because of that epic ending in Final Serenade and now all I am thinking about is that I need book two like YESTERDAY! I might have once been a fan of those pesky little cliffhanger endings that author’s throw our way because of that on the edge of your seat excitement and anticipation of what’s to come, but NO more. I am officially refusing to EVER read another duet for as long as I shall live because of the emotional abuse that I might never heal from. AND in case you couldn’t tell I was so TOTALLY being overly dramatic because I live and breathe for duets. They are my EVERYTHING and I couldn’t imagine ever saying goodbye to them. I am forever addicted to them and could never stop!
ANYWHO…on a much more serious note! Can we pretty please just fast forward to May 14th already because I don’t think I can possibly wait OVER a FREAKING month to get my hands on the conclusion of Cassy and Frankie’s story. Final Serenade is the first part of their secret love affair and it was as ANGSTY as a f*cking telenova with the drama and steamy romance intertwined throughout the pages. Their chemistry pulled tightly on each and every single one of my heartstrings and I found myself wholeheartedly captivated by all the words. I just couldn’t put down their story because I needed to know what happened next and found myself on EDGE until that cliffhanger ending that threw me right over. I am free falling in anticipation for One Last Verse and the sure to be epic conclusion of their story.
While waiting for the final book in the Encore Duet I think I might need to start an emotional support group so that I can vent out ALL of my emotions surrounding Cassy and Frankie AND that cliffhanger ending! Any of you with me? Oh and in case you aren’t sure about reading this one until the release of book two…STOP RIGHT THERE…because you can’t wait! I just know it’s going to be WORTH THE WAIT!
“N.N. Brit really knows how to leave someone’s heart on the edge! Final Serenade is book one in The Encore duet and trust me when I say that it’s beyond good! While reading this book the plot felt like fresh air, it was unique and original. Frank and Cassy’s story was so delightful to read. Their relationship represent what true love can conquer amongst the insanity of the world. The pull between them was evident since the first moment and I absolutely enjoyed their journey. Emotional and lovely with an original rock and roll vibe. I really enjoyed Frankie and Cassy’s story. It was sexy, emotional and angsty. I’m fascinated with this first part of the duet and I cannot wait for book 2! I highly recommend you this duet.”
The book is a good romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable inspirational romance, and emotional read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Final Serenade is a great rockstar, age gap romance. Even though Frankie is older, their chemistry is out of this world. The story was emotional and interesting with lots of angst. I loved all the characters and their stories. If you love music, this is a must read. Can’t wait for the conclusion to see where Frankie and Cassy’s love story goes. Great book!
I’m very familiar with N.N. Britt’s work and Finale Serenade has to be my favorite! What a complete masterpiece this book is! The plot completely original and organic from anything I’d ever read. Cassy and Frank’s chemistry was completely off the charts! The banter between Frankie and Cassy was so sweet and genuine. I found myself enraptured by Cassy and Frankie. The little world that they had made for them in between their real lives. The ending! I could NOT put Finale Serenade down whatsoever! I can’t wait for One Last Verse! N.N. Britt left me completely on the edge!
I know this book is a part of a duet, but man. I did NOT want this book to end. The pull between Frankie and Cassy is evident from the very beginning, but watching their relationship slowly unfold – and get stronger, even with all the stuff going on around them – had me in my feelings for most of the book. Frankie and Cassy have so much strength and resiliency, and they’re tested in so many ways throughout this book but still manage to keep it together. I love Cassy’s sass and Frankie’s rocker-with-a-softer-side vibe; I’m not a big fan of Dante, even before the extent of his bad boy side came to light, but his storyline adds twists to the story that make it such a dynamic read.
I’m so excited to finish this duet. Cassy and Frankie are quickly becoming one of my favorite literary couples of 2020!
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book. It’s fantastic and gripping and emotional. You’ll love it and want more.
