Luciano and Finch are married, not by love (not totally) but by political and tactical choice.
Luciano is a soldier of the Morellis Family (mafia), Finch is the heir of the Irish mafia.
5 years ago, Finch saved Lucas’life, 5 years later, Lucas saved finch’s life by marrying him.
Things are difficult and rough between them, especially when a war between families is coming their way, more than ever Lucas and Finch will have to find a way to make things work between them.
I adored this book, it was funny, sexy and captivating. I couldn’t put it down until the end and I hope to have a sequel. Really, there’s so much things I want to know about the Morellis family, the revenge, Connie, Franck and Celia but also Marco and Angelo and most importantly how Finch and Lucas deal with all it.
This book was a good beginning and I can’t wait to read more about them.
Angels & Devils
Luca and Finch couldn’t be more opposites but strangely they fit together perfectly. They both have hidden depths and strong chemistry. When you add in the family complications, it makes for an interesting mix. The ending although happy left us with a hint for more.
I should have known a book about the Mafia, even if there are gay characters, would be violent beyond my taste. On top of that, I did not like the Finch character. He’s a smart ass, drug addicted, and full of himself. I finished the book but would not recommend it.
I like the main characters, Luca and Finch. They have chemistry and the sex is hot. What I don’t like are the secondary characters that are supposed to be bad gangsters, ruthless killers, but it turns out they are bullies that use their fists on tied up victims. Another thing that I don’t like is the substance abuse, which can be a trigger for some people.
Luca and Finch have a history. It is a bit of insta love, but they are men who need each other more than they agree to. Turns out neither have forgotten their first meeting and when Luca’s crime boss forces a marriage on both of them, it’s up to them to make the best of it.
There are plot twists and turns, some of them even unexpected so all in all it’s a good read. And since I am not affiliated to any crime family I won’t judge about the internal affairs of such a business venture.
i’ve read several by this author the writing is way better than the usual m/m stuff unfortunately it’s spoiled by way too many iinterruptions for sex which is intially pretty steamy but after a while becomes rather boring and repetat repatitative
sorry for the typos cant see the keyboard to well
I was given a copy to the third story in this series and loved it so I had to go back and start where normal people do…with the first book in the series. I really enjoyed this. The story introduced me to Finch and Luca. I enjoyed the snarkiness of Finch. I wish I could come up with the come backs this guy seems to do so effortlessly. Luca who is mostly a thug sure is surprised at how little he threatens Finch. The author does a great job of giving backgrounds to the characters so I had a feel for who they are and why they behave the way they do. The secondary characters fit in so well that they are a natural occurrence in the actions of the mc’s. I am looking forward to more from these characters in the next book.
4.5* of gangster loving
This is quite the enjoyable experience, in these weird times a chance to escape real life to enjoy the world of New York families was a treat. I loved how Luca took time to realise that he was strongest with Finch, how together they could build some thing great. I look forward to reading more about them.
Wow! The story kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. It was like a roller coaster… since the beginning the book was full of intense and emotional moments, hot scenes, action, danger and romance, and I couldn’t stop until finished it. Simply wonderful… I can’t wait to read more books written by this amazing author.
Unexpectedly something wonderful – M/M romance with grit, steam and…sweetness?
Oh. My. Word. The trash talk and clever witty dialogue make this a real winner. It has angst, humor, lots of steam, secrets, surprises and a happy for now ending. Book cover is perfect too!
Finch is 19 years old when he encounters the dark, brooding and a bit older “Lucifer” the first time. They appeared to be attracted to one another in the club and then later in the alley when Finch saves this dark and unknown, unnamed man. They have a thing in Finch’s hotel room and then “Lucifer” leaves. Why won’t “Lucifer” give his real name? But, why is this boy living in a hotel? Lots of money but no family. Why?
Five years later Luca is sent by his Capo, mob boss Fuscone to kill Howard Fincher Donovan, III but when the bag is pulled off his head, who does Luca see, but the “baby bird” he knew as Finch. Luca begs for his life with the head of his mob family, Don Tino Morelli. His solution is surprising until you reach the end of the book…
What I loved so much about this book is that these two men come from entirely different backgrounds but are still empty and don’t know why. Whereas Finch has lived a rich, privileged, self-absorbed life, Luca grew up poor. Finch is a beautiful man and has a lot to teach Luca who begins to see his value the longer they are acquainted. Luca wants to go places in the mob and Finch wants to help him achieve his goals. But will their enemies let this happen?
I LOVED this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and I give it more than 5 Stars. If you like explicit M/M, mystery, mob stories and lust-to-love romance, read this book.
The cover of this book is what drew me into this story. Then, the instant chemistry between Luka and Finch kept me reading this book. I enjoyed reading this story, and the plot twists and unexpected surprises that I didn’t see coming kept me engaged. I don’t think I’ve read any prior books by this author, but now I want to give them a try. Great read that I recommend.
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
While this reads like a normal mobster book, well as normal as an M/M can be in a crime syndicate world, there are elements of surprise and plot twists scattered throughout this romance which makes it interesting. The plot was good, the characters, both main and secondary were relatable with personality and the twists were well thought out and exciting enough to keep the reader interested. Finch and Luca were a power couple once Luca let down his walls to share with Finch who you just couldn’t help but love.
