It’s the last book in the “SCAR Force: Delta Faction” series and Gaja J.Kos does not disappoint in Nova (Boris Kos, 979-8618041423, 2020).
Kos gives us betrayals, death, theft, old friends, and old enemies to end the series. There are battle scenes in space and on the ground. Everyone takes a beating or dies. This is the end and Kos throws everything at Cairo. Whew! I survived reading it! (laugh)
It was awesome!
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

Nova by Gaja J. Kos is a really great story to read. This is book number six in this great series that I have enjoyed reading very much and can not wait to see what this author will write about next. I recommend this story to everyone who likes reading about Sci-Fi.

It is always bittersweet to end a series that you’ve loved as much as I’ve loved this one because as much as you’ve looked forward to getting all the answers it is hard to say goodbye to the characters that you’ve come to know and love who have become like friends who you regularly visit with. The conclusion was perfect but let me assure you that the answers don’t come easy and they are most certainly not what you expect. Twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat and the uncertainty of whether or not Cairo will succeed in her mission to stop a massacre will keep your heart in your throat.

A fugitive once more, Cairo MacKennon is searching for allies to stop SCAR Force from their planned attack. Cairo had sneaked aboard an interstellar merchant ship for the trip through the wormhole. Full of cargo, it was a great place to hide but very cramped! When they landed, she raced out and made her way to the smaller ships in the lot to steal one of the newer models, figuring that person had the funds to replace it rather than steal from someone making ends meet with an older model. Again, she thought of Carrow and his always insisting they keep up with the newest ship models so they were never stranded anywhere. He was right yet again, and she really missed him. She flew over the building she searched for that held the mechanic shop, but everything looked empty. The resistance did switch locations often, but this shop had been a more permanent outpost throughout many years. She landed and got out to search for something that might point her in the rebels’ new location. The place had been looted, but no fight was evident. She only had one more possible place to try to find them. But before she could turn around, a gun was pushed into her neck!
Aura thought Cairo was a traitor, so now she had to convince her of the truth. She told her Carrow, Donovan, and she had gotten captured when SCAR Force wanted their loot to build a weapon to get past the Independent Planets’ shields. She had been working with Agnus Hall on Deva when SCAR Force went after the rebels again and captured her; they killed Carrow in prison when he suspected something was up. Now the rebels want Cairo to prove her allegiance by kidnapping Donovan Frost out of jail. With 50 seconds left to break him out and get back out before the locks changed, an unexpected guard who should not be there showed up! Where does she go from here?
This book is so amazing! The non-stop action and suspense keeps the reader in its grip from start to finish! Excellent characters, intriguing and fast-paced story line, combine to give the reader an outstanding adventure that doesn’t stop! Even proving her loyalty to the rebels, Cairo knows that not everyone will survive in this upcoming confrontation. How bad will it be? Will they be able to prevent or minimize the devastation SCAR Force plans in attacking the Independent Planets? Or will everything be lost?
Everything comes to a head and there are revelations aplenty. Can our heroine stop SCAR Force, or will she just be the latest victim?
This is book six of an action pack science fiction adventure. The story actually reads very well as a standalone, but I strongly recommend starting at the beginning so that you understand the situation and characters.
The story is well written, easy to read and full of action, intrigue, a dose of humor as well as a bit of steam. The setting is detailed and well thought out with logical connections between all the elements. The characters are all well developed and seem so real that they breath life into the story. The story is fast paced and easy to read with plenty of mystery and intrigue to keep you glued to your seat. This conclusion is everything we have been looking forward to over the last five books, but that doesn’t mean the ending is simple or predictable. I am seriously going to miss these characters and this setting and I to see more of them in the future.
Highly recommended.

Gaja kicks it up a notch. Very imaginative.

Even the rebellion isn’t clear of corruption, and even those thought to be corrupt might not be, in this last installment. Full on action, adventure, interplanetary battles, discovery, and pain, both physical and emotional, but with a reasonably happy ending
