A new adventure hatches in the first book of the Inheritance Cycle, perfect for fans of Lord of the Rings! This New York Times bestselling series has sold over 35 million copies and is an international fantasy sensation. When fifteen-year-old Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy. But when the stone brings a dragon … brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself.
Overnight his simple life is shattered, and, gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.
Features interlocking art that reveals an image across the spines of all four books! And don’t miss the most recent book set in Eragon’s world, The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm: Tales from Alagaësia!

Very simplistic, good for young readers – would suggest 7 – 10 year old comprehension,
Eragon is one of the books which really got me in to fantasy. The mental magic is fascinating, and the world huge.
I think that this book changed my opinion of what i think a true fantasy/ adventure book is.
I love this whole series. I have the first 2 books in the series, now to just find and buy the other 2 in the series. He takes you through more details than the movie did. I love reading his books. Will continue to buy and read his books.
The Eragon series is one of my favorite series of all time. If you want to read a thrilling engaging story within an amazing world and a well developed character look no further.
Amazing
This book is extremely well done for an 18 year old. The rest of the series gets better and better. Only one problem: the ending to the final book was a real let down.
Part 1 of a series aimed at adolescents that is destined to be a new classic (if it isn’t already.)
This book is an amazing break from reality. It opens up your imagination more than you’d ever expect.
A great fantasy story. A boy and his dragon and a world at war. Magic and elves. It doesn’t get better than this.
This is the first book in a long time that wouldn’t let me set it down until it was finished.
Good fantasy novel, especially for being written by a teenager. Definately by the second book you’ll be sucked into Paolini’s world.
I love every single thing Paolini did for his worldbuilding in Eragon. That is the kind of intricate detail I strive for when doing worldbuilding of my own.
I thought that when I started this bopk, that it was going to be long and boring, dragging on and on, But it wasn’t. It really drew me in, it made me really feel the characters, and understand them from Eragon’s point of view. I was glad I had the next book ready to read right away.
