Dotty and Kylie are preparing to start beauty college. As Dotty and her friends are heading out for a picnic, they pass near Devil’s Bridge Farm. They hear a rumble that turns out to be some cattle stampeding, which they think is unusual. On their way back home, they notice a lot of police activity at the farm and stop to ask questions. It turns out that the stampede they heard earlier resulted in a person being trampled to death.
One of the new people Dotty meets while attending college is a young man named James. She is surprised to learn that he is the son of Ned Bristow, the owner of Devil’s Bridge Farm. James says he has not seen or spoken with his father in over 5 years and knows nothing about the latest incident at the farm. When Milly’s dog, Schmeichel, dies, she goes to Ned Bristow for a new puppy. Ned was more interested in getting the money for the dog than allowing Milly to choose a puppy. When the new puppy also dies, Dotty can’t help but wonder what is really going on at Devil’s Bridge Farm.
Who was the man killed by the cattle? Was it an accident or something more sinister? What is really going on at Ned Bristow’s farm? What is Ned hiding? Can Dotty and her friends unravel the mystery?
This is Diane Ezzard’s third book in the Dotty Drinkwater series. It is a little slower than the first two and the mystery is more subdued, while at the same time being more complex. The characters are realistic with unique and interesting situations. There are enough twists and turns throughout the story to keep the reader interested and guessing clear to the end.
Dottie and Kylie start beauty college! They meet a fellow student James who they discover is Nasty Ned the farmers gay son, who has been disowned. They all get along great and become best of friends. They soon discover shady things are going on at nasty Neds and feel compelled to look into it.
I really enjoyed this this book. There was suspense as we are tugged along until the very last part of the book where we discover exactly what’s been going on. I I love the new characters and getting to know Dotties parents more! There is plenty of action in this book. I really love the original storylines and the authors writing style. I highly recommend this book and this series!
Allow the better part of a day for this NC17 conundrum that involves Dotty Drinkwater and her friend, Kylie, both approaching 30, who have enrolled in a beauty college. Rumours are flying around about what may be going on at Devil’s Bridge Farm. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Dottie Dabbles in Danger-Dotty Drinkwater Mystery Book 3)” by Diane Ezzard is a tale of one Dottie Drinkwater …who is livid when her buddy Millie’s little puppy purchased from a terrible amateur so called dog breeder farmer Ned…gets very sick and dies. All manner of goings on occur and Dottie is up to her ears right in the middle of it…Will Millie get a new healthy puppy…Will the one that died get justice?!? Will Farmer Ned pay?!? Read and see!! Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book.
An enjoyable series of mystery books!
Dotty and her BFFs, Kylie and Rachel, must have magnetic fields that pull trouble their way! How can they be so unlucky? I won’t give away any spoilers here… you’ll just have to read the story to find out what happens. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I can hardly wait to read what will happen to Dotty, Kylie, and Rachel as the Dotty Drinkwater Mystery Series continues.
I read the prequel to this series. Now that I have read this first, second, and third books of the series, I plan to read the rest of the series as the books become available. I continue to enjoy the main cast of three quirky twenty-something BFFs that are as entertaining although as different as they can be. Whether I personally relate to them or not, I found their characters to be believable. I enjoy reading of their humorous antics and interactions of the BFFs as they worked together to solve this new mystery. This book is not a novel, I finished reading it in one afternoon sitting. I recommend Dotty Dabbles in Danger for anyone who loves a good mystery; but doesn’t have days to invest in reading a full-length novel.
I received an advance reader’s copy of this book; but this review is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Crazy goings on with neighbors near Dotty. Trying out some new career ideas might just land Dotty in even more trouble – and luckily introduces us to even more colorful characters.
Even trying to find a dog for a friend of a friend turns into a sad adventure with more danger. Maybe Dotty should just be called Danger, Trouble- either way, she is definitely fun!
