A lot can happen on the open road… literally, in a diner at three am. I didn’t need trouble. Or more regrets.
I’ve never been very good at avoiding either.

This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha make and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.

She is trying to outrun her present and smacks right into her future
Olivia is a young woman who is has been evading her abusive husband for the last week trying to stay one step ahead of him on the road. She grew up in an abusive family, met her husband Evan when she was in her senior year of high school and married right afterwards. She is all alone in the world as her parents died in a car accident a couple of weeks after the marriage.
Wade is a middle aged long haul trucker with all the baggage that comes with that – teenage daughter, three marriages all ending in divorce and multiple ex-girlfriends.
Wade is in a diner having a strong cup of coffee in the middle of the night. When he goes to leave he finds a young woman walking up behind him. As she is just about to say something a tall blonde man walks into the diner looking for someone and calling out the name Olivia. The young woman has a look of fear in her eyes and all she whispers is “Please?! Look you don’t have to take me far if you don’t want. But you can’t leave me her!” Thus begins the story of Olivia and Wade. It is a woman on the run from a past that she may not be able to outrun but is determined to try and get back to the woman she was before and the older man who thought he would not care for anyone again but quickly finds his possessive and protective Alpha taking over, along with his instinct to care for Olivia. They do have a lot of chemistry that is not immediate but comes on, like stoking a fire until it is a roaring blaze.
I liked this story-line and thought it was nicely handled for such a serious subject matter. The characters of Olivia and Wade were nicely developed within the confines of the novella length. The ending was a bit abrupt but I guess you could say “they drove off into the sunset together”. My one complaint is the number of proofreading errors that I found while reading. I did find it annoying but I still enjoyed the story.
Olivia is trying to get away from her abusive husband and ends up at a truck stop diner. Wade is a trucker and he stops at the same truck stop diner for a break and some coffee. However when the woman beside him starts shaking in fright and begs him to take her away from there just as a man starts yelling for her. Wade’s protective instincts kick in and he gets her to his truck. Along the drive Olivia tells him what’s been going on for her which makes him want to do whatever he needs to in order to keep her safe. Will they be able to get her to safety? What will she do about her husband coming for her?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Wade is a lone truck driver. When he’s leaving a stop, Olivia asks him to take her out of town and not leave her there. He sees she’s afraid and has bruises and takes her away. Along the drive, they both open up and get close. But will her ex-husband give up looking for her…and will she want to stay with Wade?
An entertaining and romantic fast pace page turner! It is well written, witty, funny, and emotionally deep with intriguing characters; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended.

A very quick read. This is not a typical romance but rather a serious theme underpinning the overt sexuality of the story. The ending also felt rather abrupt to me. I could see this story being fleshed out more and being a full length novel. As a short story, the dynamics of the main female character’s situation could not be brought forward so much.

Wade is a big rig driver, stopped at a roadside diner, grabbing some coffee. He checks out the other customers, of whom there are few, making his observations and keeping to himself. As he is getting ready to leave, a man comes in, hollering the name Olivia. Before Wade realizes it, a beautiful, curvy young woman is by his side, pleading with him to take her with him. Seconds later, they use a flurry of tour bus activity to hightail it to his truck. This book was very well written with a relatable story line and likeable characters.

3.5/5 stars
First book that I have read from this author. It was a good read. Wade and Olivia were a good couple. Chemistry between them was quick and intense. Quick read but I do wish there was an epilogue. I would have like to known what happened to Evan.

Olivia De los Santos has been in an abusive marriage and is finally determined to escape her husband. Wade is a trucker who stopped for coffee at the diner and, as he started to leave, Olivia approached him. She begged him to take her somewhere, anywhere, just away from here – as her violent, abusive husband walked in and looked around for her. Wade saw her pure terror, was about to pass up the drama, then let the need to protect her kick in. He quickly agreed and helped her up into his idling truck. On the road, she told him her story. What will her future hold for her now? Will her abusive husband catch up to her?
This was a good story with some excitement in the story line as the reader sees Olivia almost get caught and just barely escape. Will she get to ultimate safety? Or have her troubles just begun?
Dag nab it where is my epilogue!?? This was a really intense and light book about Olivia. She is on the run. But Wade is there to help her. With his past history of ex-wives and ex-girlfriend‘s it’s no wonder how he was slightly hesitated but definitely willing to help her by the sheer fear in her eyes. Being a truck driver this was a crazy adventure. My only problem with this story is that there was no epilogue. But the ending, Was gratifying enough I hope to make you guess what should’ve happened.

Olivia is running from an abusive husband when encounters Wade a trucker on his way to drop a load. Wade was making a pot stop for lunch when Olivia practically begged him to take her with him. Wade sensing her urgency readily agreed.
This story was too short and did not allow the story line or the characters to develope.

Transition
I liked the tone given by the dialogues and the narrators (who are the characters) a little lost at first, who meets by chance. Their situation is sometimes a bit vague when they are intoxicated or emotionally desperate, but in the end, the hours in the truck allow them to get to know each other better.
Wade, divorced three times, is a truck driver and former soldier. He has to hit the road at night when he is approached in a dinner by Olivia who is fleeing from her violent husband. Over the kilometers, they discover each other and the lost young woman lets herself go in the arms of the lonely driver

I did not enjoy this story. I ended up skimming over the pages as the first half of the book felt extremely drawn-out and redundant. Then there was the grammar, it was shocking and lead to absolute no flow in the storyline. This book could use an editor to go through it. In the peak of the really arb sex scene, which was completely confusing, the author suddenly starts using the wrong name, so poor Olivia is suddenly being called Olive. Talk about throwing a reader off.
This book was a DNF for me and I do not recommend it to anyone. Such a shame, it really had potential.

The author has given us characters we can understand. Olivia is an abused woman trying to escape her husband. Wade is a trucker who feels the need to protect her. The story keeps you on your toes, wondering if Olivia’s husband will find her.
