I am so excited for this book series! As an avid paranormal fantasy reader, I often find that most series are in the young adult genre. Finally! Another steamy angel series for adults! This book has everything: characters you love, characters you hate, slow burn romances, angst, and lots of tantalizing angels.
Arathiel is a guardian angel with a history of getting a little too close with his mortals, Coralyn is a mortal who shouldn’t be able to see angels but can. Cora also happens to be a mental health professional (sort of a big deal when you start seeing things you know shouldn’t exist). Add in an amazing array of supporting characters, and you’ve got quite the story!
Not to mention, it really does a great job of introducing characters, while preparing you that some amazing stuff is yet to come in future books of the series. I can’t wait for the next installment!
I received an advance review copy of this book for free in exchange for a n honest review.
Do you believe in guardian angels or not? That is the question many people ask, but not Coralyn Basevi. Even though she is familiar with genes for schizophrenia, she is convinced that she sees an angel. And he manages to save her time and again from danger. But how do you tell your sister that what you see is real and not a symptom of an illness? How do you tell your brother, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, that you see angels and know very well that it is true? Until your angel tells you that angels do exist but she is not so important that there is one for her. How do you hold on to your faith so that you can be saved from the demons endangering you. And what do Archangel Gabriel and Raphael do in her story?
I really enjoyed this story. The world described in which you sometimes include the question; what is true? Passages of thoughts that can fit in with someone who is hallucinating, but also mentally healthy! The story of Cora, who is perhaps in the world to save the world from ruin. Recommended!

Coralyn’s family has a history of mental illness, so when she starts seeing a good looking man in a suit, and starts talking to him, she can’t help but to doubt her own sanity. Arathiel, the good looking guy in the suit, is Cora’s guardian angel, and Cora shouldn’t be able to see him. Demons are hunting Cora, and even so of the Greater Empyrean Angels have taken an interest in Arathiel’s charge.
Unique, fascinating, and sometimes funny characters. Cora and Arathiel are both struggling to define the parameters of their “relationship”. Some action, plenty of drama, and even a few laughs. I thought this was a great book, and I look forward to the next book.

The great character and storyline development lured me right into this story from the very beginning and the twists and turns kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
An intriguing premise. She’s been blessed.
Coralyn is accident prone, her guardian angel, Arathiel has been working over time with her near death days.
She saw him and now things are changing for them both. There are rules for angels, too.
4.5
Very entertaining, well written and exciting story. I really liked Cora and Arathiel’s beginnings in the prequel and I have truly enjoyed this first book in this series. This is a very intriguing and original angel paranormal romance. There is great interactions including entertaining banter between characters.

Although this ended in a disappointing sfn cliffhanger, it was still an outstanding and captivating book with terrific characters and a truly creative, non-dogmatic plot. Mental health, trust, acceptance, courage, friendship, judgement, guilt, hope, and love were some of the underlying themes. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
I received a free copy of Angel Off Limits, but that did not affect my review.

A fast paced action packed storyline. This is a spicy book with steamy scenes. I love the characters especially Coralyn because she’s someone whom you can identify with. They are likeable and engaging characters. Couldn’t put down and read all day. Want to read more from this author and this series.
This is my first Veronica Conley book and it is good! Angel Off Limits is the second book of the Greater Angels of the Empyrean and it is not a standalone but it is easy to follow based on how well the main characters are been portrayed.
Coralyn is a psychologist who comes from a family with a history of mental illnesses. Maybe is her thirst to know or explain what happens around her that attract her to her line of work. Everywhere she goes extraordinary events happens sometimes endangering her. Soon she start to notice a handsome, dark suited man who seems to be always present wherever she goes. Her logical mind try to make sense of what she is living while her inner self tells her that she is in the presence of someone special.
Arathiel is her guardian angel. He is the man in the dark suit, the one who she can see but nobody else can. He is kind of rebellious, have a record of getting too close to his charge and even falling in love once. Arathiel and Cora develop a very interesting dynamic, insightful moments, fun and tons of sparks. These two are slowly falling in love , but will it work? She is human, he is an Angel…will he risk his very being and what cost will it be? Cora and Arathiel’s story will continue in the next book (yes, there is a cliffhanger) and at this point I’m invested in their fate.
As I said, this is my first book by this author and it is the middle one in an ongoing series. I enjoyed it and will read Book 1 to learn more and follow the breadcrumbs that Ms. Conley left along the way. I try to avoid books ending in a cliffhanger, but in this case now I just want to see Cora and Arathiel happy together. Angel Off Limits is a 4 star read for me; half star deduction because of cliffhanger and other half star deduction because it was the middle book in the series, have to go back and wait for a resolution, but that doesn’t discourage an avid reader like me who is always glad to discover new voices within the paranormal genre.
I received ARC and I’m happy to share my honest thoughts and opinion.
As Arathiel and Coralyn’s story continues, some mysteries are revealed and others deepen about the relevance of Coralyn’s gifts of her supernatural abilities. Will Arathiel cross the line as his feelings for Cora deepen? I can’t wait to read the next part of this intriguing series!
