Badass is back with a vengeance and it always shines through. Brotherhood above all is shown in this first installment of the Phoenix Series set in New Mexico. Being lied to had him losing faith in his Brothers but never his lessons. Cort shows them all what Brotherhood and Badass means. One of the first lessons he teaches is to Seren. Passion and intelligence come in many forms; beauty is only … only one of them.

Loved Cort and Seren Masters
Cort Masters was the young President of a Badass Chapter, and lost it all, his father, wife, then Club. Those he trusted most betrayed him. Time and distance has brought some peace. His closest brothers, his officer’s have come to him. His former club in trouble. The truth of the betrayals come out.
Cort and his officers are establishing a new chapter of Badass. Cort’s uncle Rex brings some issues to His attention. His town needs some cleaning up. Misogynist have gained a foot hold and businesses owned by women targets.
Seren at 24, is a smart business women. Her Scandinavia heritage and beauty, has made her an outsider. Since the death of her father, she has her adoptive Uncle Rex and her two best friends, sisters, Freedom and Victory. A badass and a flower child. Then She meets Cort.
Cort can’t get the beautiful little blond with the strange blue eyes off his mind. Seren can’t help but be pulled into the orbit the biker Norse God, who shares her love of inspirational quotes, has a sharp mind, is a protector of those in need. Seren takes to the biker world like she was born in it.
Fast paced and steamy. Loved learning more of the southwestern diverse cultural heritage. Love this new series in the ever expanding MC/Baxter/Providence world. Great support characters, can’t wait to read more stories from the Phoenix chapter.
Amazing read with a whole new MC, L Ann Marie has returned to her roots and given us a winner.
You will never look at another pair of knee pads the same way and the kickass women will have you cheering on their accomplishments.
Amazing heroine and hero and a town full of misogynistic men make an interesting storyline.
Master’s Rise Book One (Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. It pulls you in from the beginning and keeps you hooked with the storyline so you can’t put it down. The characters are relatable and written great, you can’t help but fall in love with some and feel their emotions. Cort and Seren are the two main characters who both have an attraction to each other. What will come from their attraction as sparks fly? Can Cort forgive his Brothers and learn to trust again? This story has action, romance, suspense and drama, the storyline is amazing and I cant wait to see what comes next.

Master’s Rise: Book One is the first book in the Phoenix Series by L. Ann Marie. This is the first book I have read from L. Ann Marie, so I really wasn’t sure of what to expect from her. I always enjoy exploring new-to-me authors, so I grabbed a copy and jumped right in. The story took me a little while to ‘get into’. I felt like I was missing something, and the flow was a little slow to begin with. But once I found my groove and adjusted to the style- the story flowed much better.
This is a descriptive and detailed MC story- with drama, action, violence, chemistry, and more. The brotherhood and comradery between the characters was great, which added to the whole ‘feel’ of the story. There were also some lighter, humorous moments which helped to balance the overall storyline.
L. Ann Marie has quite a long list of books to her name- and I am surprised that I had not found her before now. I will be adding a few of her other books to my TBR to explore in the near future- as well as keeping my eye out for the next book in the series to see where it takes us.
Thank you, L. Ann Marie.
Master’s Rise is the first book in L. Ann Marie’s Phoenix MC Series. This is my first read by this writer and as I absolutely love MC stories then I decided why the heck not AND I was not disappointed, not a bit!
It is supposedly a new series but I had a feeling that I was missing something and when doing some looking up I could see that I should go and read her other MC series to get the full impact of this one (though kudos to the writer in regard of trying to give us as much of background as possible but one does not want to become a drag…)
Master’s rise gives us the story of Cort who has left his old MC with some of his brothers following him so they will start up a new MC in a town that needs some fixing up, and of Seren who has always been treated slightly different because of how she looks … throw these two together with Seren’s hilarious and crazy friends and Cort’s MC brothers in a town that offers them loads of challenges and you get a story that doesn’t leave you indifferent! I am looking forward to the next one in the series and I see many good stories in our future!
This is a new to me author and with an MC book i just had to dive right in. This took a bit to get used to the writing style and flow but after a bit it clicked and I was flipping through the pages.
Ive not really read any books where we get to see the building and start of a club so it was interesting to get a front row seat to all that goes into it.
I can’t say I’ve laughed so much in an MC book before so that was a welcome change and I fell for these characters fast. I did feel like I was missing something or a big chunk of time and that bothered me as its a start of a series but no real big backstory type.
I am looking forward to more in this series as I am now invested!
This is the first book in the Phoenix Series and it was a great book.
Cort is president of a MC thats been set up made of new and old members of people from different groups.
They all live by Brotherhood which meand they protect their own and their town. This become even more important when Cort meets Seren.
Seren runs the local hardware store and pizza place but after run ins with the locals Cort steps in to help her and sets up brother protection for her. There is an immediate attraction between them but Cort is cautious as he has been hurt before.
However Seren is different, she knows about the Brotherhood and understands their ways. However she isnt a woman to just sit back and do as she is told which means Cort has a challenge on his hands.
This is about the build of a club, brotherhood and trust. I liked learning about what it takes to get a club off the ground and running. Most times I read about an established club..so that was different.
Reading this was a struggle for me. There is stilted conversation and many times I had to reread a section over to try to make sense of it That ended up frustrating me and I would just move on.

Open your book to Romance, MC, and learning to trust.
New Mexico is the stage, and L. Ann Marie is the author. Her description of her characters were spot on. I could see them as clear as day. Her writing of this book makes it a fast-paced page turner. I love stories about MotorCycle Clubs. Phoenix is another trustworthy group of men and women. Cort and Serena are the main characters. Such a great couple. But finding a band of trust worthy brothers, makes this story worth the read. L. Ann Marie is a new author for me. She did not disappoint! I am looking forward to book 2.
Masters’ Rise is the first book in the Phoenix series by L Ann Marie. It was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work and I have to admit that it took me a little bit to get into this book but once I did, I really did enjoy it. I have read other MC books but found this one very different for the others that I have read. This book was very descriptive and gave much more insight into the day to day running of an MC. I also found this book to be more violent than others that I have previously read.
I really loved the main characters of Cort and Seren. The attraction and chemistry between them was instant and grew and grew as the story progressed. I loved how Seren took absolutely no nonsense from Cort, even though he was the president of a MC. For a man who was used to having everyone at his beck and call, it was a breath of fresh air to have someone say no to him and answer him back.
I really enjoyed the plot and storyline although at the beginning I was confused as to who were the good guys and who were the bad guys as there are so many secondary characters in the book. It did take me a while to understand who was who. I do hope we get to see a lot more from some of the other characters as the series progresses.

This is my first book by this author and in doing research I see that there are many books I need to go back and read. I love MC books, they are among my favorites.
I did have trouble at first wondering if I was missing a lot of this story, which is why I went looking through her books. She did a good job of updating things but I still felt like I was missing something. Once I got towards the middle I found myself totally invested in all of these people. I loved Cort and I truly felt for him after reading and understanding his story, and his brothers totally won my heart with trying so hard to make things right for him. I loved Seren in this story as well, she was totally awesome and their story was written different then Im used to and I really liked it even if I can’t explain it LOL
I definitely did not like the town, it was a complete mess but what Cort and his brothers were trying to do to fix it was awesome and I must also mention this is one of the first books I’ve ever read that I actually felt present at the start of an MC and that was cool! I can’t wait to move forward with this series and see who we get to know more about. I loved so many of the secondary characters that I hope this series covers them all.
Took me a bit to fall into the writing style of this author…I had to go back and read sometimes two or three times to figure out the change of scenes or what was happening, but once I got a grip on it I was fine so hopefully the next book I won’t have any issues at all.
Really enjoyed it and can not wait for more.
Master’s Rise was a good story. I’m not personally a huge fan of motorcycle stories, it’s not my favorite type of genre, but I really did enjoy this story! It was very well written, with a clear story line and plot. I had a little trouble keeping all the characters together though. Language and some steamy scenes makes this an 18+ book in my opinion. I’m definitely interested in reading more books from L. Ann Marie!
Master’s Rise Book One (Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie is a new author is to me and I enjoyed this story. I have to say it took me a little bit to settle into the way the author writes but once it started to flow for me it really became a good read. The characters just make you fall in love with them and they made me laugh out loud so many times. There is plenty of action and drama, fun and comradery and a brotherhood second to none. I read the story in one sitting and had to stay up till 2am just because I had to know how it ended.
Seren has always been treated differently because of the way she looks but she is so much more that her prettiness and blond hair. She and her friends are hilarious and crazy to boot. They are strong and sassy and don’t apologise for who they are.
Cort is starting again having left his old MC, but he quickly realises that some of his brothers follow him and they start their own MC from the ground up. There is plenty of trouble in their new town to keep them busy and the club grows quickly. These men crack me up they do what has to be done and have each other’s backs at all times but they are just funny with their antics. Whilst all this is going on he cannot keep away from the blonde beauty.
I will have to go back and read through the impressive list of books that L. Ann Marie has written and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
Master’s Rise by L. Ann Marie is the first book in the Phoenix series. This book is clearly the start of a great new series that I already can’t wait to read.
This author is a new author to me and I wasn’t sure what I expected going into this series. What I got was amazing characters and a brilliant story. The main characters in this book absolutely gripped me. I thought they were just brilliant together. They were the type of characters I connected with instantly and that never changed.
The story was well written and detailed. The pace was perfect and it all just flowed so well.
I definitely enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to see what else is to come.
I couldn’t wait to dive into this read! I loved experiencing new authors and to make this even better its one of my favourite genres of book – MC.
I absolutely loved this book I was captivated with the story from beginning till the end and didn’t want it to stop! As with most MC reads, this book was steamy, it had romance, it had action, adventure and drama all rolled into one brilliant fast-paced, action-packed read!
I loved Cort & Seren they have brilliant chemistry and attraction and I loved following their journey. These characters are well developed and really help make the story that more realistic. I absolutely loved this read and so glad I got the chance to read this and get a new author to look out for!
I can’t wait to see what else comes to this series and what else this author will bring us.
Master’s Rise: Book 1 (Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie
4-Stars
Master’s Rise: Book 1 (Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie is an exciting and action packed motorcycle club novel. Cort Masters had been lied to and lost faith in his brother’s. In this novel he starts a chapter of Badass in New Mexico and reinforces the ideas of brotherhood and trust. Cort was an excellent main character and so was love interest Seren. Her name was unique and fitting. She was strong and brave as well as independent. This easily pulled Cort in. I loved reading how they both interacted with each other and the gang. The brotherhood also did amazing things for their small town. This book was written well and I really enjoyed reading it. My favorite part was the humor the brothers shared. Definitely worth the read.
Master’s Rise: Book One( Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie. This author is one of my absolute favorites and one of my go to authors for rereads. I have loved all of her previous books. Now that she has a new MC I couldn’t wait to dive in!!!! Getting to meet the new Chapter was great and I can not wait to see where this new series goes. I am so glad that I am going along for the ride once again. Seren and Cort are one Bada$$ couple following in the long line of MC power couples!!!! I can not wait for the next book in this series!!!!!!
I always wonder if the next biker club book I pick up will be one that has been told before. But, thankfully this author was a pleasant surprise straight away. Great character development as well as an engaging storyline, I found this to be a great introduction to this author and look forward to reading more in this series!

The story Master’s Rise: Book One (Phoenix Series) by L. Ann Marie is a book that I enjoyed reading. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I just couldn’t put it down. I loved reading about the characters of Cort and Seren. Cort is a man that had been lied to. He now finds himself dealing with what has happened in the past and also with the present. He also finds himself with a deep attraction to Seren. Seren is an intelligent, strong, independent, and beautiful woman. She is often underestimated and those who try to mess with her learn how strong she really is. She also has an attraction to Cort. They have chemistry. What does the future hold for Cort and Seren? The past haunts Cort. Will he be able to bring the Brotherhood back together? Read this book to find out. Seren and Cort are characters that I found myself rooting for. This book does have some romantic moments that make the temperature in the room rise. There are many additional characters that are introduced that I enjoyed reading about. This is the first book in a series, and I believe that the author has done an amazing job with both the storyline and the characters. I can’t wait for the next book.
This is my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read more from her. This is one of my favorite types of books, MC and hot, steamy romance. I was pulled into this book from the very start and kept engaged until the end. This is a fast page turner that is well develped with characters that make the story feel realistic. Colt has lost faith in his MC Brothers but not anything else he was taught. Seren is about to find out the most important lessons he learned. I highly recommend their story.
