I’ve got one last chance to save my lifeAs the daughter of a Rage Lord, I should be taking my place among the Noble Guild of Berserker Assassins. When immortals turn bad, we hunt them down and remove their heads. But I’m also half nymph—a breed of Fae known more for fleshly pursuits than exacting a pound of flesh. Every time I lift a sword, my powers go haywire…with disastrous results. If I don’t … results. If I don’t master my magic and learn to take heads, the Guild will take mine.
He offers to help…for a price
Now my fate lies in the hands of Hauk Sigridsson, a powerful berserker burdened by a terrible curse. His job is simple: train me or kill me. But Hauk’s a half-breed, too, and he claims my dual heritage is an advantage, not a burden.
He says my magic is special, and when he looks at me with eyes that flash with lightning, it’s hard not to believe him. I’d follow him anywhere—even into Faerie, where he says I can prove myself and save my skin by helping him kill a dangerous dark Fae. But when I discover Hauk’s intentions might not be entirely pure, I may lose my heart as well as my head.

The story line is captivating and flawlessly written. The characters were engaging, likeable, and well developed. The story is full of drama, action, romance, and a definite page turner. I highly recommend you read it for yourself you won’t regret it!
Interesting premise dealing with berserkers and Norse ideas. Half Berserker, Half Nymph Elin can’t control her tantrums, so she’s sent to some type of military academy to learn to control her emotions; if she fails, the result will be death. She has to go through trials in order to prove her worth as a Berserker. She’s discriminated against by the other Berserkers because she’s half Nymph; Elin does it too in a way, she’s not very accepting of her Nymph nature. At first, I was thinking this was going to be too high school; mean girl included, but things took a quick turn towards the spicy. I didn’t quite feel a deep connection between Elin and Hauk, but I did enjoy the romance aspect overall. Hauk and Elin definitely have the passion aspect down! I liked the Fae adventure Elin finds herself on too. Overall, an entertaining read!
loved it !!! love Hauk and Elin… this is their story… a fast paced action packed drama… Elin is a halfling…an outcast with a lot of rage and wild magic…she is sent to the academy as no one wishes to train her… she is kicked out… when all is lost … Hauk requests for her to go on a quest with him… he was the headmaster at the academy… she learns so much on the quest… but it is not an easy quest… twists and betrayal surround them… a good story…

Wow! This is the first time I’ve read something like this. Berserkers, nymphs, faerie, etc. and I loved it. It was an action adventure with romance. I never anticipated the ending. It was a happy ending but the revelation was unexpected.

The character was so immature I thought I was watching my two kids fighting when they were children. The character is supposed to be 21 yrs old but she acts like she an adolescent. What was with the screwed up mythological characters being from the wrong country. Unless the author seriously steps up her writing abilities and does research on where the mythological characters are from this will be the last book I read from her. I know plenty of others thought this was great but I don’t like bratty children or screwed up mythology. Mythology is my favorite subject but the author messed it up to where the book was unreadable and I couldn’t finish it. I put it in the recycle bin.
A berserker and a nymph, never quite good enough for her father. Elin has lost everyone she’s ever loved. Instead of love she receives cruelty and abandonment. Hauk is the headmaster of the berserker academy and takes Elin under his wing. They will travel Fairie and the world on a quest. I love when she talks to the wood and plants. Hauk helps her gain some control of her out of whack powers. This is definitely a book I will read again and recommend to others! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.
This was a fun and exciting adventurous story. Elin was dropped off at the Berzerker academy because she constantly failed her fathers attempts to have her taught to hone her skills. No one wanted her there because she was part nymph. Hauk was the headmaster and there were definitely sparks as Elin and he embarked on a journey together. Good story

“Daughter of Rage and Beauty” is a breakout top 10 that I could not put down. This well-crafted storyline has humor, action, betrayal, passion, suspense, and a massive surprise as to the reason that Elin is hated by her father. All this intrigue wrapped up in a well-written package that is definitely a Must Read novel. The characters are perfectly created for this tale, the main character Elin and the secondary characters keep you entertained and laughing out loud from the first page. Elin’s family issues are intriguing and heartfelt. Her powers are uncontrollable and deadly; she’s also a half-breed outcast. Her instant chemistry to Hauk, the headmaster of the Academy and their verbal sparring, adds extra spice to this tale. This is a series that you definitely want to be a part of starting with this book. I highly recommend this tale.

DAUGHTER OF RAGE AND BEAUTY is the first book in the Berserker Academy series, and if this is any indication of what is to come, then I can’t wait for book 2.
Elin is a half-breed, part Fae and part Berserker. She has been looked down upon by her father from birth, and now, at twenty-one, she is being shipped off to the Berserker Academy in a last-ditch attempt of her not ‘sullying’ the family name. Trouble is, Berserkers can be just as judgmental as her father!
I was completely engrossed in this story. I loved Hauk and the connection that grew between him and Elin. There are other characters that stand out that I hope will get their own stories. So many parts of this that I enjoyed, it’s hard to narrow it down. One scene I will mention is the incredibly hot scene between Hauk and Elin. I think my kindle nearly melted. It was perfectly done, being sexy and sensuous without being gratuitous.
I found the pacing to be spot on with this, giving the reader enough time to enjoy each scene without it being stuck. The world-building was great and is one I hope to return to.
For a fun, sexy and adventurous Norse fantasy, then I have no hesitation in recommending this!
