A smart and sexy romance about a grumpy single dad on a mission of revenge, and the girl he can’t leave behind by USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise.
Hope
I blame the alcohol.
I lost my restaurant business, was forced to sell my dad’s cherished 1967 Chevy Impala, and I got a little drunk.
Now I’m waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I’ve ever seen, speeding down the highway like a … drunk.
Now I’m waking up with the hottest, angriest guy I’ve ever seen, speeding down the highway like a bat out of hell.
Ice-blue eyes hit mine with stomach-clenching force…
And he swerves onto the shoulder, ready to kick me out.
Needless to say, our romance doesn’t start out sweet.
J.R.
Two years ago, I hugged my little boy goodbye and told him I’d be right back.
Next thing I knew, I was arrested and sent to prison for a crime I didn’t commit.
Until they let me out early…
Now I’m headed home to confront the man who put me away.
A lie put me behind bars, and I’m ready to find the truth.
I don’t have time for a sexy girl with pale blonde hair and bright blue eyes stowed away on the backseat of my new car.
My mission is to get my son back and clear my name.
Love is not on the agenda.
It never is, though, is it?
(THIS MUCH IS TRUE is a single-dad, opposites attract, stand-alone romance. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Hope is seeing light in spite of being surrounded by darkness…
I love this couple. JR and Hope are perfect for each other. The first time they lay eyes on each other it’s more than a little rocky. JR finds an unwelcome stowaway in the back seat of his car. He does not have the time or patience for this blonde beauty. He needs to get home to see his son. He has been in jail for something he did not do, he was set up.
Hope passes out in the back of her dad’s Chevy Impala not knowing that he had sold it. He sold it to JR. She wakes up and sees the most gorgeous but also the grumpiest man she has ever met. Eventually after first dumping Hope at the side of the road, he breaks down and takes her along for the ride. JR’s brother Scout comes along as well. He is so different from his brother, more laid back and calm.
JR and Hope develop an attraction for each other than they cannot deny. Along the way they each discover and share their personal stories and it turns into something more than just a physical attraction. The dynamics with all the characters in this book are very heartwarming. You will feel many emotions reading this story. It has all the feels. Their HEA is worth the wait. I am looking forward to Scout’s story.
Oh, Tia Louise you have done it again!! This grumpy hero will win your heart while you wish you were the beautiful heroine riding shotgun for this cross country road trip.
Hooked, hooked, hooked…I’m so hooked for this road trip. It was fun, it had chemistry overload, and it had intrigue. Everything that makes a pandemic book fun to read.
Yes, I said it…the dreaded 2020 word. Hope and J.R. (two strangers-gasp) are in a car together traveling cross country during the pandemic, but instead of it being the end of the world virus wise, This Much is True is a fun, steamy romp which they survive, thankfully (safely, and while following medical precautions and all).
I love that Tia was able to have fun while the world has turned upside down. If I had to compare the characters to world events; J.R. really seemed to encompass the worlds anger (but in a hot, brooding, grouchy way), while Hope (great name choice) is the beacon of light that we all need in the world right now.
J.R. is looking for revenge and he’s filled with anger (aren’t we all after this year). He’s been locked in jail after being wrongly accused for a crime he didn’t commit and he wants answers. When a beautiful girl awakens in his back seat, one he obviously wasn’t expecting, J.R. isn’t exactly thrilled, but how do you dump a girl in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a pandemic?
While Hope is filled with this eternal…well hope, she’s constantly happy, even being stuck in the car with Mr. Unhappy. Should she be worried about going on a road trip with a stranger? Yes, but strangely she’s not. Currently she’s unemployed due to the pandemic so what does she have to do? Nothing. Might as well make the best of her situation and enjoy the ride.
I’m also going to let you in on a little secret…well maybe it’s not little. The book is funny, okay it’s more than funny, it’s hilarious at times. It’s going to make you smile something fierce and a huge part of that is due to the secondary characters. You are going to love them so hard, but that is all you are getting from me.
Fall in love with this amazing pandemic love story.
