For fans of Sylvia Day and E.L. James, the first book in the New York Times bestselling Blackstone Affair series. Brynne Bennett has left scandal in her past and is living the good life. An American grad student at the University of London and part-time photographic model, she’s getting back on track with lots of hard work and focus on a career in art conservation. When successful and charismatic … successful and charismatic London businessman Ethan Blackstone buys her nude portrait, he wants to possess more than just her image. He wants Brynne in his bed, serving him in every way possible. He has no trouble voicing his desires, and he isn’t taking “no” for an answer.
At first, his dominant nature captivates her, but it isn’t clear if the force of his powerful desire will ultimately awaken or dispel the demons Brynne is carrying inside. There are secrets on both sides of this relationship–huge ones. Can Ethan erase the scars of Brynne’s past so that she can reveal her true self to him? Or will the shadows cast by Ethan’s own mysterious former life destroy their chance at happiness?
Naked is the sizzling, unforgettable story of what happens when a strong woman meets the one man powerful enough to strip away all her defenses, leaving her standing naked and perfect before him.more
I love this book. Ethan is an over the top protective alpha especially after meeting Brynn. Love the chemistry between these characters but they are both keeping secrets and some things don’t stay secret forever. I definitely recommend reading this book.
Tell how I didn’t know about this book? This man? Ethan Blackstone sets the bar high for my first read going into 2021. There’s something about about him that I’m trying to unravel in my head. His accent? Because I hear it loud and clear in my head. His raw sexual appeal just jumps off the pages. He’s what I define as a true Alpha male. A lot of authors try to replicate a character like this and some don’t come anywhere near to what I experienced here.
The story had me invested. Both of them, Ethan and Brynne have secrets. I loved the protectiveness he has for her, it may seem overwhelming to some but for me it shows a side of Ethan that I respect. If he can’t be with her he’ll do whatever is necessary to keep her safe.
But with this also comes problems, not fully disclosing who he is was always going to come back and bite him. And when it does it had me wanting to tone my kindle at the wall. There’s more to the situation and who Ethan actually is I feel more is coming and I’m excited to start the new year with this story.
To say it left me on a cliffhanger with that ending is an understatement, but knowing book two is locked and loaded has averted a major situation.
The story and the physical chemistry is off the charts, Raine Miller has sucked me in. I’m committed to him and their story.
It’s a YES from me.
I honestly can’t remember the first time I read this book but it had to be about 5-6 years ago, I remember devouring the first three books in the series and I have read them several times since. Ethan and Brynne stole my heart and have given me many hours of happy reading. Naked is a gripping story of a dominant alpha male and the woman he falls for hard and fast. Her past makes it hard for her to trust and getting past that is a challenge he is more than willing to take on. Hot love scenes and a passionate story-line will keep you enthralled with this book.
Audio. I finished it ~ only because it was an audiobook and I was too lazy to turn it off. I think the fact that it ended on a (completely copied from FSoG) cliffhanger and I had no interest in the next portion was a good indicator of how little it holds my interest.
If you haven’t read Fifty Shades or Grey or the Crossfire series ~ you might enjoy this more. However, there were a LOT of the same elements/plot points/angst “issues”. Granted the writing skill is superior to FSoG (though that’s not much of a benchmark). It was nice that the MC’s had actual tangible employment and Ethan was protective, but not to the level of creepy/stalker of Christian. The nightmares (though given to Brynne) felt lifted from Crossfire.
It just felt like too much like a piecemeal from other popular series.
Audiobook note: The cover says Shane East and Grace Grant are narrators. East only does a 2min prologue from Ethan’s POV and the rest is completely from Brynne’s (Grant) POV. I like Grant as a narrator, however, she can’t seem to stick to British accents consistently here. I’m no expert on the UK, but I feel I know enough to know that she also seemed to be mixing different dialects when she wasn’t completely dropping to American English. I wish they’d found someone more skilled in the accents as it definitely detracted from the story.
A serial with a lot of erotica but also romance and had a thrillrt/ mystery vibe.
If you like reads on the steamy side, this ones for you.
LOVED IT
This book pulled me in and didn’t let go. I thought I would like it, I didn’t expect to LOVE it. Highly Recommend!!
One of my favorites
