If you like your alien abduction stories with a touch of darkness that ends with a happily ever after, then look no further than the Nectar for the Gods series, where each story is a relative standalone. I say relative because there’s a story arch that covers all four books in this series and while you can read the first three in any order, you really do want to save “Given” for last. In it, we get Emmie, Dev and Garet’s story and it’s soooo good. Once again, I ignored work in favor of my Kindle and quickly ate up the pages. In fact, I burned through more than 50% of the story while sitting in a waiting room at a doctor’s office and thankfully, I have a pretty good poker face AND I was sitting in a corner. Otherwise, everyone would have known what I was reading because it’s that hot.
Sophie Kisker’s “Given” gave me a major case of the feels as I went on a roller coaster ride of emotions ranging from the hot and bothered to muttering insults about a certain king and queen to everything in between. Now, I know I said this about “Saved”, but Ms. Kisker outdid herself with this story and it’s now my favorite. And it will stay that was as, I believe, it’s the last one in this series. Unless she decides to give us some holidayish/update stories (*looks hopeful).
Oh no! This is it!
With this, sadly, last of the stories from Anteros, Ms Kisker has ramped up the horror, the pain and hopelessness of the Earth women forced into slavery on this planet. But she also makes it very clear that there is honor, love and devotion among Anterrin males.
The way she weaves together pain and ecstasy becomes a tangible reality. Some parts of this book brought me to tears of rage, others of joy.
As in all her books of this series the author again delivers a satisfying HEA and one, more than satisfying, “demise”!
All the people we met from the first book on are included in the final festivities, celebrating not just their personal happiness but also sweeping changes on Anteros.
I will miss reading about this version of Earth.
I love this book. Sophie Kisker has done a beautiful job wrapping this series up with a perfect ending to a thought-provoking and incredibly sexy story.
This series has been a fantastic time well spent. I fell in love with the first book and Sophie kept me hooked the entire time. Sure it didn’t hurt that the sex was hot and the punishments were even hotter. But just the whole world that Sophie created and shared was amazing. This story will make you cry (it did me) and it will be a bittersweet goodbye at the end cause this is the last book in the series. If you have read the other books in this series, this one will not disappoint you. Thank you Sophie for writing this series, it has been a fantastic journey.
