The Heart Always KnowsLandoMy muse is gone, and I haven’t written a word of music in over a year. Every time I close my eyes, all I can see is Dawson. Nine years ago, just before Downward Spiral’s first major tour, I met my soulmate and then I walked away. Now that I’ve finally tracked him down again, things have changed. I’ll have to make him fall for me all over again. But is it possible I put … is it possible I put our single weekend together on a pedestal or could Dawson really be The One?
Dawson
A traumatic brain injury nine years ago left me deaf and with spotty memory of the first twenty years of my life. When one of the biggest rock stars in the world shows up and seems to know me, I’m not sure what to believe. Is it possible he’s telling the truth when he says he’s been in love with me for nine years, even if I can’t remember ever meeting him?

I really enjoyed this second chance love story between Lando & Dawson. They spent a weekend together 9 years ago with the promise that it wasn’t the end of them but Lando never heard from Dawson again. Lando is burnt out and has been struggling to write, Lincoln Downward Spiral’s lead singer was meant to be sharing the song writing but over the 10 years that they’ve been famous he’s only contributed two songs. The band who used to all be awesome friends are starting to resent each other, especially Lando and Benji who’ve had to deal with Lincoln and Jude’s destructive behaviour. Dawson was in a car accident 9 years ago after leaving Lando and not only has be lost his memory from a who year prior to his car accident, he’s also lost his hearing. He’s been able to piece together that he was in his final year at College but he has no idea where he was the weekend of his accident. Dawson was planning to be a writer but he hasn’t been able to write since his accident.
Dawson has had a weird obsession with Downward Spiral, and a crush on Lando even if he can’t hear their music.Downward Spiral are taking a much needed break before they decide whether the band will stay together or not. Lando decides to head back to Miami to see if can get some closure. When he arrives at the beach rental that his Manager Archer booked for him he’s assaulted by memories of Dawson since it’s where him and Dawson spent their weekend. Dawson’s sister Parker sends him to Miami for a week as a gift for his birthday so he can unwind and hopefully try some writing. Lando sees Dawson again but he doesn’t remember him or the weekend they spent together 9 years prior and he’s now also deaf because of the car accident. Lando gives Dawson what he’s missing as he tells him that they spent the weekend together prior to Dawson’s accident. I loved that they got their chance to get to know each other again and fall in love. I’m looking forward to reading Jude, Archer and Bennett’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Play it By Ear is the second book in the Replay series. I suggest reading these books in order because there is an overarching plot line that makes more sense when read in order, however, this book can stand on its own.
This was a sweet second-chance book. Lando and Dawson reconnect only for Lando to realize Dawson was in a car accident which left him with a TBI. Due to the TBI, Dawson no longer remembers Lando and has lost his hearing. Watching Lando reconnect with Dawson and see them fall in love again was adorable and sweet. There were a few obstacles that they had to overcome, but even with the obstacles, these two lovebirds were delightful. This was one of my favorite books in the Replay series and I loved it so much.
What a wonderful and touching story! I adore both of the main characters and I really wanted them to find their happy ending together. Their chemistry was beautiful.
This book has all the feels, all the emotions, and all the heat. It truly reminds you that dreams are worth chasing after, and love can overcome so much. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Lando and Dawson’s story unfold. The strength and motivation these characters have was absolutely palpable.
So good!
Man I’m loving this series too. All of K.M. Arnold’s work is amazing. There is. Only one problem with this series. They are so good and this one teases so well that I need more. Seriously. I am going to be begging for the next one.
