“I FREAKING LOVED IT!” “You must go read this, like NOW!” ★★★★★The gods walk among us. And they just might steal your soul… or your heart.I thought I’d survived everything life could throw at me. All I wanted was to keep my distance from the criminals I work for and get my little brother out of the hell that is our mother’s house. Then I died and woke up to four stunningly hot gods telling me … woke up to four stunningly hot gods telling me I’m now a valkyrie.
Sly, sharp Loki. Jovial but ferocious Thor. Dreamily compassionate Baldur. Grim and secretive Hod. They all have something to teach me. And around them, my walls start to crack.
But the gods didn’t summon me just for kicks. Their king is missing, and they need me to find him. The first three valkyries they sent on the job never made it back.
More power is awakening in me than I could ever have imagined—and the gods’ enemies are more devious than even they knew. It’s going to take every trick in the book for me to save myself, my brother, and these divine men who’re getting under my skin in the most alluring way.
I’m Aria Watson, and Valhalla ain’t seen nothing yet.
Claimed by Gods is the first full-length novel in a medium-burn reverse harem urban fantasy series. This action-packed, heart-wrenching ride gives you a kickass heroine, four irresistible gods, and Norse mythology like you’ve never seen it before.

I have been meaning to read this one for a bit now so I finally made the time and then was kicking myself for not getting to it sooner. Ari was living a rough life when she is taken out by an accident but instead of dying she wakes up surrounded by four hot Gods claiming they made her a valkyrie. Of course she doesn’t believe them until events prove otherwise so she accepts her need to be trained before taking on the task of locating Odin that they need her for. Great world building wrapped up in a fast paced story that will have you turning page after page until you hit that doozy of a cliff hanger ending. I really have to get a hold of book two now. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Enjoyed this first book of Eva Chase’s supernatural RH series focusing on Norse mythology. I really enjoyed Aria, the valkyrie that was made by combining essences of Thor, Loki, Hod, and Baldur. The reason they ripped Aria from her impending death to become this powerful creature of lore was to help find the all-father, Odin. We get to see Aria come to terms with her new life, protecting her one remaining family member who matters while dealing with all of this, and her start to build potential relationships with her Gods. I really enjoyed her getting to learn her powers. I thought it was kinda abrupt but I understand to get the story moving along that needed to be done. I liked seeing the walls start to crack/crumble between her and certain characters. I think in book 1, Loki was probably my favorite. That does get challenged in book 2 haha. Overall, I thought it was a solid 4 star start to this series. I went to the next book immediately after finishing this one, with how book 1 ended I needed to know what new thing they had to overcome haha.
For the narration, I always enjoy Aiden Snow when he does the male narration, but he isn’t my favorite when he has to do the female voices, and that is still the case here. He would get 100/5 for the male narration, but only a 4/5 for the female. He does a fabulous job I think especially with Hod, Aiden is amazing when you bring darkness and mystery into a story. For Samantha Cook’s performance, I thought she did a great job. She was amazing with Aria and Petey, and some of the guys. I did have a couple instances where I couldn’t tell which guy was who, but nothing too major.
Definitely would recommended this series for those who love the action-packed stories, supernatural/magical powers, and reverse harem. Book 1 I will warn you is not steamy. I would classify it a slow-burn, almost medium-burn. The story and relationships come before the sex, which is good for this type of storyline.
I really enjoyed this book. I love reading about Norse Mythology especially if Loki & Thor are in the story. Ari hasn’t had the best like and now she has became a Valkyrie and needs to found Odin. I love her interactions with all the guys and the ended wow I need to know what’s going too happen next.
Loved it!!
This was my first reverse harem novel. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical, but WOW. The plot and characters took center stage. The author had such a unique take on the Norse Gods. Yes, there’s a little sex, but it’s a slow burn and doesn’t overshadow the rest of the story.
What’s going to happen next?! There are battles, flying lessons, dark pasts, secrets, ‘magic’ powers, evil villains, sexy Gods and sexual tension! The characters are great, the Valkyrie is a bit of a badass with a little bit of an attitude problem. This was a great story and I look forward to finding out what happens next.
Great start to a new RH series by Ms. Chase. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors.
Aria, Ari for short, was a street hustler until she was killed. When she woke up, she’s told she’s now a Valkyrie and has to find Odin, who’s missing. Quite a shock. Especially, when she finds out the five people who made her a Valkyrie are Norse gods and one goddess.
Loki, the forever trickster, who has a soft side. Thor, who really uses a hammer and eats like a teenaged boy. Baldur who is always smiling and happy but has a dark past. And Hod, who shares his brother’s dark past. Freya, the one goddess, is Odin’s wife.
Ari has to learn how to use her powers fast. Odin has gone missing and it’s her job to go find him. The five gods want to go home but can’t without Odin. Ari’s new life is quite an adventure; learning her new powers, getting to know the guys and dealing with the fact that she’s attracted to all four of them. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
Move over Marvel…Claimed by Gods needs some room!! With the Marvel Movies out and about it took me a few chapters to adapt to the looks of the Gods in the book but adaptation did occur! This was an excellent beginning to the series and I am so excited about reading more! MORE MORE MORE! Aria does her best to look after her sweet sweet brother Petey from a distance. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Ohhhhh and what a BEAUTIFUL cover!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Ari is not having a good day.
Upon her death, she was chosen to be a valkyrie.
It is only because the gods need Ari to find Odin, the alfather.
She will show them.
Is this a curse or a blessing ?
Ari is still undecided.
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
If you’re looking for an action-packed mythological romance with a badass heroine and more than one hot god, Eva Chase SO has you covered. 😉 Loved every minute of this page-turning read!
This story is awesome! New spin on Norse God and Valkyrie mythology. I got this book as soon as I saw the cover, and I was hoked by the second chapter, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in 4 hours it was so good. I can not wait to see where the Gods and their Valkyrie ended up and how they are to find Odin again. So excited for book 2!
What happened to the gods of old world…get a glimpse of possibility in this story. A bit of romance, a bit of mythology, lots of action, heartwarming scenes…all in one story. There is one unfortunate part of this book which is a cliffhanger. Otherwise, very recommended.
