Although Julianna had always dreamed of finding her Prince Charming and living her happy ever after she now finds herself about to marry Enrique, a man she doesn’t love, for the good of her family and her country.
Alejandro is Enrique’s younger brother and has no interest in the duty and obligation that is part of being a Prince. He and Julianna are very attracted to each other and as they spend time together, they get to know each other as people rather than as a Prince and Princess and the connection between them is immediate and intense. Will they choose love or family?
Very entertaining read! Enjoyed getting to know the heroine of this book a bit better and getting to meet some new characters. The ending for me was a surprise, but I enjoyed it imensly! Can’t wait for more of this series!

This is Book 2 of Her Royal Duty Series by this author and can be read as a standalone. It is a clean, wholesome romance between Princess Julianna and her betrothed’s brother, Prince Alejandro. These characters are likable, their connection strong, and the unconventional plot makes for a heartwarming read. It is refreshing to read the push and pull and ups and downs in their relationship. It is a sweet love story with more than enough drama, humor, and love, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Overall, it is an fun read with heart, heat and a happy ending. A great addition to the series.

I first met Julianna in A Reluctant Princess and loved her. She has such a kind heart and wants to honor her father by fulfilling her “duty”. He just made me so mad. How can a father treat his daughter that way. Alejandro was the second born son so not in line for the throne. These two are adorable together. I will admit I wasn’t crazy about them spending time together while she was engaged to his brother. Julianna finally stands up for herself even though the consequences were pretty bad. Glad to see the growth in Enrique. Loved the sailing parts.

I enjoyed reading Princess Julianna’s story after meeting her in The Reluctant Princess, but I kept wondering where the backbone she displayed in that book was in this one. I wanted her to be bolder than she was and not let her father walk on all over her. But I guess that’s why I’m not a princess!
Alejandro caught my attention and admiration right away. As the “spare” in his royal family, he’s virtually ignored by his own father, while the responsibility for the monarchy falls on his humorless brother Enrique.

Though I did have to look up some of the sailing terms, I enjoyed Jules’ story.
A princess born to follow orders and fulfill her duty , even resigning herself to an arranged marriage. Few people knew the real woman beneath her mask of duty. Her father, her family, and even her fiancé could not hold back her love of sailing. And is it so bad that her soon-to-be brother-in-law sees the truth and makes her sailing dreams come true? But what will be the price when the truth comes out, because the truth always comes out. Will it be worth it, will she return to the dutiful princess she was raised to be, or will she make a new path of her own choosing?

Julianna is raised to be a proper princess and to do her duty. Now she’s one opportunity left to get married. She’s hoping for a husband who won’t restrict her in her passions, sailing and helping other women. Alejandro the second son of a king just wants one thing, to be free to help his island to prosper. When they first meet it seems they have nothing in common, but why would they, they are not meant to each other, she would marry his brother. But when they discover a mutual passion what will be more important duty or freedom?

Delightful and charming princess romance with captivating characters that you feel like you know and a lovely story that kept me entertained and engaged from beginning to end. I really liked duty-bound Princess Juliana and her dynamic with the other characters especially Alejandro, the second son of King Dario.

OMG Melissa has done it again. The story of Jules takes you on quite a ride. A princess who wants to do her duty but still follow her heart. This does cause lots of conflict.
Jules gets a chance to agree to one last arrangement for marriage. Can she fall in love with Prince Enrique or will his brother win her heart?
With her love of sailing will she be allowed to continue or will she have to give up? You must read to find out.
