I haven’t read any of the other books in the series but they seem to be stand alone books so I don’t see that being an issue.
I put the book down to go to bed after finishing chapter 11. I had read 50% of it and was really starting to feel myself disconnect from the book. I picked it back up the next day and internally sighed with frustration after the first paragraph. I just couldn’t get back into it.
First, I had a hard time getting past the abundant use of babe, baby, honey, buddy, etc. I tried to just ignore them but they were so overused it’s like they were in every sentence of dialogue between Cassidy and Carter.
I loved the way the back story played out in the beginning. It was natural, fluid, and cute. Around the time Cassidy gained the “something more precious,” the flow completely changed. It’s like a completely different author came in to finish writing the book.
Insignificant moments were drawn out. Moments that seemed important and were the perfect opportunity to give some insight into the 7 year gap and how the characters changed during that time were skimmed over with little detail. The depth of the characters kept dwindling the more I read.
I hope the story ended better than where I left it. Honestly, where I left off, it already seemed like the storyline was pretty much complete because it was so rushed. There wasn’t anything that made me want to continue reading. I imagine the rest of the book is filled with a lot of petty fights with quickly making up, one big fight that threatens the relationship, then they make up, get married, the end. I could be wrong but I don’t have enough interest in the book anymore to find out if I am or not.
Carter and Cassidy were friends all their lives but he knew that she was the woman he loved. When they were younger he didn’t convey to her his feelings before he left for the military and while she was in Paris she had a relationship with a man that led to her having baby. Carter was devastated and took off. Years later they reconnect. Carter finally owned up to his part by not telling Cassidy his true feelings and she never got over how things went down between them. Now they have a chance to rekindle the relationship will this time around lead them to the happily ever after the deserve?
This book is a second chance romance. Cassidy and Carter were best friends from the time Cassidy was six years old, Carter was two years older. Due to some miscommunication and meddling they didn’t see each other for 8 years. I really enjoyed the sweetness Carter showed as they were getting reacquainted. Will they be able to forgive the hurts of the past and make it to their HEA? On a side note Maverick and Lily were the cutest thing together. I think this is my favorite so far, I highly recommend it.
This book sucked from the very beginning! One of my favorite second-chance romances to date.
Carter & Cassie have known each other since childhood, and were inseparable. Things happened, a few years apart (and that one mother has a screw loose or something, I REALLY don’t like her.) and a chance encounter brings them back face to face.
I loved how each still included the other when they were apart. And I’m not sure I’ll look at a nut and bolt the same way ever again. Now, I’m eager to dive into the next Dog’s Of Fire book!
A very sweet biker story of a couple reunited after years apart following a falling out. With a strong female lead and an alpha male hero, this story has it all. Add in crazy parents, creepy coworkers, and a history between the main characters, and you’re always wondering what’s next! Keeps you guessing right through to the very end.
Love this book! Great second chance romance! Ace and Cas are a great couple, their chemistry is amazing. This is a great book in the series. If you like M/C and second chance romances this is the boom for you!
