Nobody writes a love story quite like Jill Barnett, whose romantic tales are “as magical and unique as any you ever had the joy to read” (Romantic Times). Now she spirits us away to a misty, secluded island off the central coast of Maine, where a pair of Scots brothers clash with two independent women… MacLaughlan live in seclusion on a Maine island. The brothers are as different in spirits as they are in looks. Though one is dark and levelheaded, the other fair and adventurous, they have one thing in common: they want brides. When Eachann’s two unruly children are expelled from school, he is even more determined to wed. Following an old Scottish tradition, Eachann decides to solve the problem for both himself and his brother….
Spying on a fancy society party, Eachann sees a solution before him. The always capable debutante Georgina Bayard is basking in the light of her own ball. Meanwhile, outside, Amy Emerson is valiantly struggling to conceal her first broken heart. Swept away by this young Scotsman, both young women become captives. Kidnapped and furious, with only each other for support, Amy and Georgina have a choice: fight for the life they’d previously known…or let their hearts get carried away….

A weird story but very well written. The portrayal of characters was exceptional especially the little girl Kirsty who was hurting so badly but a sweetheart at her center. I enjoyed reading this very much–not the typical format.
Wonderful, Entertaining, Romantic & Humorous
An Absolutely Wonderful Story.
2 brothers who were totally opposite of one another in character. 2 children & an uncle who can’t see very well & refuses to wear glasses.
2 women who are total opposites as well. what can happen when these people are put together in unusual manner?
A book you don’t want to put down.
The proud descendants of a Highland clan, Calum and Eachann MacLaughlan, live in seclusion on a Maine Island. The brothers are as different in spirits as they are in looks. One is dark and levelheaded, and the other is fair and adventurous. They have one thing in common – they want brides. Eachann’s two unruly children are expelled from school, and he is even more determined to wed. Following an old Scottish tradition, Eachann decides to solve the problem for both himself and his brother. Spying on a fancy society party, Eachann sees a solution. The always-capable debutante Georgiana Bayard is basking in the light of her own ball. Meanwhile, Amy Emerson is valiantly struggling to conceal her first broken heart. Swept away by this young Scotsman, both young women become captives. Kidnaped and furious, with only each other for support, Amy and Georgiana have a choice: fight for the life they previously knew or let their hearts get carried away. – This is a humorous double romance. Calum and Eachann are very different. Calum is quiet, tidy, and caring. Eachann is loud, aggressive, and spontaneous. Georgiana and Amy are also very different. Georgiana speaks her mind while Amy is reserved and unsure of herself. It took me a while to get into the book, but it is entertaining. Stay with it.
I loved it …endearing charators and an uplifting read
I was somewhat confused with the time period. Late 1800’s? I love both stories in one with Calum and Amy’s story being my favorite. Heartbreak vs Scared of Women, in the end love wins. The Eachann and George story was fun. Pleasant reading and easy to follow.
Jill Barnett always pleases and this is another wonderful book to add to her line of fun and romantic moving heroes and heroines. Sit back read and enjoy this light hearted and enjoyable ride.
I Loved It! From the first page to the last you will spellbound by Carried Away! Jill Barnett has written a sigh-worthy story from beginning to end with threads of falling in love with that special someone! The story was excellently written and well-paced, with amazing character chemistry that is believable and easy to relate to, from the first page and throughout I was totally captivated. Each and every character came to life and you find yourself drawn into their story. It’s a romance that was pure delight, filled with delightful, clever and funny banters between the different protagonists. You can’t help falling in love with Kirsty and Graham, two little mischievous hellions, who are just looking for their fathers love. Pour Georgina and Amy kidnapped by Eachann, on brawny Scots, who find out they are to marry Eachann and his brother Calum. The story takes off for one outrageous rollercoaster ride for the couple’s as they learn to open their hearts up to love.
Jill Barnett rocks. I loved the differences in the two brothers. They couldn’t have been more different. The evolution of the couple’s was so entertaining, I just want Ms. Barnett to write more.
