I read a lot of fantasy and sci find. This book ranks up with the best of them. Well written and totally unpredictable. First book of a trilogy and each book is a good as the last. Fan of the “half” series.
This first book showed potential and encouraged me to try the next as well.
Joe Abercrombie is the best fantasy writer since Tolkien. All of his books are great.
If you like David Gemmell, you will love Joe Abercrombie! Extremely well written. Outstanding character development.
Unecpected twists in plots you don’t see coming. Story does not go where you expect

The best book I’ve read in over a year! Highly recommended, especially for fans of Game of Thrones. George R. R. Martin liked it, too!
