It isn’t often that an author can continue with this type of energy throughout a series yet this author has. I stumbled upon this series and I am so glad I did. This the second book in the series starts off right where the first one ended. While her life is still in the hands of others he is fighting for a way to help. With no contact these two set off with good intentions and life just gives them one bowl of lemons after the other. I love the battle this author has them fighting and the undeniable feel that there is more going on than meets the eye. Brett is one of those threats that needs to be monitored. Now as things seem to be settling there is still the feel that it isn’t yet time to become complacent. Loved the thrills and chills and can’t wait for the next book which will finish it all out.
The storyline was well written, the plot flowed effortlessly from page to page and the characters were created with such great detail and depth that I was totally engaged as each and every page was turned until the very end!
The deep, unshakable feeling of not being worthy enough, not being good enough, not being … enough – permeates the main characters and drowns the sparks of hope that anything good might last. And yet, through tremendous events, literal storms and emotional tempests, and even that sensation of impossible-but-maybe, the author keeps the storyline pumping pure adrenaline throughout.
True, the immediate self denial about any possibility that someone or something good can exist in Shae’s life, besides her life on a ship in the sea, becomes a bit heavy at some points, even to the point of exasperation, but the excellent development of her back story, her life as it has evolved, creates believability in the emotional trauma she, and the reader along with her, go through.
Not as desperate a cliffhanger as the first book, the end of this part is much more heading towards chilling creepy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. HOLY SMOKES!! The abundant life breathed into these characters and the authentic attention to details all came together to create a vibrant story that is sure to stick with you long after you’ve read the last words on the page. The author delivered a dynamic story with staggering events, churning your emotions into play, and fusing this gem together piece by piece. Then, toss in drama, turmoil, distress, intrique, suspense, and unexpected situations. What an explosive journey. This book is the second in “The Tide” series & is a continuation of book #1. I can’t wait to read the next installment. READ THIS SERIES!! Seriously, you won’t be disappointed!!!
