Nash Walker is a simple wolf. His days are spent at the firehouse and he never has trouble finding someone to fill his nights. He isn’t ashamed to admit he has an amazing body and though his cousins tease him for his hero complex, he does save lives. He’s a popular guy on the isolated island he calls home and certainly doesn’t need to be around anyone who isn’t thrilled to be in his presence. …
Until he meets Phineas.
Phineas is a nerd through and through. Not just a nerd, but as far as Nash is concerned, an angry one. All of the traits that normally make men fall at Nash’s feet have no effect on Phineas, and though his head tells him there are plenty of fish in the sea, Nash’s wolf only wants him. There’s a sadness in Phineas that calls to Nash.
Phineas is used to being invisible. No one cares when he walks into a room and he prefers it that way. People in his life have a habit of getting hurt so he lives alone. All his friends are online where they can be safe from his curse. His touch heals, but not without making sure a price is paid. But when Phineas has a problem he asks Nash—the insanely gorgeous fireman who is everywhere Phineas turns—for help. He might as well learn what he can before Nash comes to his senses.
Meanwhile, a serial arsonist is targeting buildings in Walker County, particularly on pack lands. As much as Nash hates the idea of helping the wolf pack that he once called his, he must do his job. When the danger spills to the other side of the island, particularly at his human’s door, Nash knows he must find the culprit or he might not ever have a chance to truly claim his mate.
Hope is the second book in the Wolves of Walker County with steam, humor, magic, and intrigue as well as a second surprise pregnancy that will continue to change everything. For maximum enjoyment, this quartet should be read in order.
Wolves of Walker County:

Nash’s upbringing made him think of himself as something close to God’s gift to men. Boy, did he meet his match! Let me tell you, I laughed my pants off seeing Phin take Nash’s overinflated ego down a few notches. For the first time in his life, the alpha met someone who didn’t instantly fell at his feet, so that he had to truly work for Phin’s attention. Seeing sweet, nerdy Phin stand his ground, breaking Nash’s bubble of confidence time and time again cracked me up to no limits. At the same time, the big, though alpha was so cute, scrambling for ideas to spend more time with Phin, uncertain of how to show his deepening feelings.
So, that part was fun. But while Nash slowly took Phin’s defenses down, someone blew up things left and right in the county, setting fires, most of them too close to the Walker’s home. It added thrill to a plot that, thanks to ugly memories, pack politics and fights, was already pretty drama filled.
Maybe the extra booms, literally, the added suspense and mystery, made me like just a teensy bit more than the previous book in the series. The romace between Nash and Phin was sweet and charming, and once again, it was incredible to be part of Walker cousins’ family, with their teasing, meddling, affection and unbreakable unity.
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the characters creations – the personalities were very intriguing and they pulled me into the story. The plot was well construed and kept the interest very well. A good book! Grabbing the next one in the series as we speak!
As a huge fan of Kiki Burrelli’s books I was so excited for the opportunity to read this book 2. Now is the story of Nash and Phineas and how they found each other. As a shifter story there were some parts of the plot that we’d already expect but again the little twist involving magic, intrigue and a mystery in between romance and hot scenes made this book even more interesting. I strongly recommend to read it as part of the series because even if each book is about one couple you’ll understand and enjoy better the dynamics and the story as a whole only after reading the books in order. I can’t wait to read book 3!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Cursed or blessed. It’s all about your point of view.
Welcome back to Walker County. All the boys are here; Nash, Wyatt, Aver, Branson & Riley. Ooh, & blessed baby Bran, and Nana. I am so loving this series. The guys pulled me back into their lives from the start. I didn’t resist. Pack politics & an arsonist amp up the volume. There is danger, redemption, understanding, surprises, steamy sex, and a new curse (blessing). I loved this book.
Picking up where the last book ended, this book tells the story of Nash and Phineas. Phineas is a human. Nerdy, shy, more comfortable with his online friends than with “real” people. But he has a secret… his hands can heal injuries. At a cost. When Nash is called out to an apartment complex fire, he rescues Phineas. His wolf goes crazy. Phin is his. Now to convince him. Phin feels pulled toward Nash, but his inexperience holds him back.
Follow Nash & Phin as their attraction turns into something far deeper. Share their wonder as Phin follows Riley by getting pregnant. Feel their hope when a mother’s love is revealed. And when the crazed arsonist is finally cornered, see what the depth of true love can accomplish. You will love this book! I cannot wait to read the next chapter in this saga.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I loved right from the start that Nash was crushing on shy Phin and I loved when Phin finally found his self-confidence to believe that Nash would be interested in him. This story had drama, suspense, and love. Even though it’s second in the series, you can absolutely read this as a stand alone as the author provides a great backstory of the first book.
Hope by Kiki Burrelli is the second book in the Wolves of Walker County series. This is a paranormal shifter mpreg romance that is sweet, sexy and suspenseful. The characters are amazing – pulling the reader in and delivering humor, angst and sexy matings. The story is fun with a little taste of fiery drama. I love this!
Change can be exciting! Nash, was feeling the pressure of life changing. He was still curiously questioning the miracle that was Riley and baby Branson. Riley’s consideration is humanizing Nash, a bit. He is still wary about the pack trying to encroach on the cousins’ lives using Riley and Brandon as excuses. We get to meet Mrs Boxer who is a feisty lonely senior lady. She raised the notice about Phin missing during a fire run. Nash, instinctively felt a connection, but he didn’t know why. As they got to know each other, Nash felt safe because of course Phin didn’t have any special curses or gifts, right? Can Nash and Phin, do what they fear most, share their internal truths? Expanding household, Walker pack invasive curiosity and change. Can Nash and Phin handle the truth? Is Nana able to provide clarity? Will Nash step up? Great story. Nice to watch cousins grow. Well done!

Man, I really enjoyed this book. Nash is completely full of himself, he’s a firefighter and he found something that makes him happy after him and his brother Wyatt and 2 cousins left home but ever since Branson and Riley have got together and had a baby he’s a bit unsettled. He’s goes to a call out at Riley’s apartment building where an old lady had set off the smoke alarm becuase she tried to cook sausages inside on an charcoal grill. She tells the firefighters that she hasn’t seen her neighbour Phineas but Nash was told that everyone had been accounted for but he’s goes into his apartment and it looks completely clear but due to his extra senses he can hear someone breathing. When Phineas wakes up him and Nash get on the wrong foot, as he thinks Nash doesn’t have any substance just because he’s really good looking. Yes, Nash keeps putting his foot in his mouth and saying the wrong thing but he feels a connection to Phin and is angry that Phin nearly died and he doesn’t care. Phin has a gift that he can heal any accident but he takes on the injury himself too a slightly less extent but he thinks he’s cursed becuase whereever he moves too people always keep getting hurt around him. When Nash and Phin finally sort out their issues they’re great together. Phin has a stalker that has caused all the people to get hurt around him so he could watch Phin heal as he thinks he can be taught what Phin can do but that’s not possible. I’m glad that Phin helped Nash and Wyatt learn to forgive their mother Julie when they learnt what their father John was like, and she finally got the courage to leave their father and go live with Nana Walker. I’m looking forward to reading Wyatt’s book as I think the pack Elders are just going to up their game. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
What a complex story! A mystery can be so much fun. I admit to having figured out the “bad guy” before the characters do but it wasn’t obvious just I love a mystery!
The action, slow burn build up to the steamy moments was perfect. The eye opening moments that keep happening from book to book is a good connecting point. It gives each story just the little bit extra to find out the actual end I am sure will be happening in book four which I am half way to getting to!
Our characters continue to be fun and loving and loyal and when a new “omega” comes to them the automatic connection to the rest is just perfect!
