Kord: Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides #5
She’s a successful restauranteur, but he’s hungry for more than what she’s cooking.
Barb Quintain owns the hottest restaurant in town, lives in a fabulous luxury apartment, and has a personality as big as the state of Texas. But outward confidence conceals old wounds as big as Texas, too. She hides behind success, fearing someone will discover what she’s really like—a fake, a fraud, all broth and no beans.
Then, one evening, Kord walks into her restaurant—an alien so hot and sexy she knows he’s way out of her league.
Kord doesn’t understand why none of his Intergalactic Dating Agency matches have panned out until he meets the owner of Barbie Q’s Restaurant and realizes she’s his Fated mate. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to recognize that. The only thing he can do is get her to hire him so he can convince her they’re meant to be together.
Just as Kord’s patience wins her over, a family crisis sends Barb running in her rhinestone boots. Will confronting her past destroy their future?
Braxx: Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides #6
She’s given up on love, but this alien hasn’t given up on her…
If there’s anything Holly Hansen has learned it’s that falling for a persuasive charmer is a sure path to a broken heart. It happened when her fiancé abandoned her just when she needed him most. Everything about the smoking-hot alien, Braxx, reminds her of her ex, and he keeps showing up night after night at the restaurant where she works. It’s enough to wear a girl down, make her doubt her convictions, maybe hope that love can conquer the heartbreak of the past…
The instant Braxx meets Holly Hansen, his horns begin to throb, and he realizes she’s the ONE. His Fated Mate. He can’t wait to settle down with her and make beautiful babies together. Unfortunately, she won’t give him the time of day. But he didn’t come this far to give up easily, and he hopes that with patience and baby steps, he’ll win her heart.
Just when it seems he’ll succeed, Holly’s past comes back to haunt them. Can a heartbreak be too deep for love to fix?

I have read the Alien Mate series, and love those aliens and their bridal exchange, so I was excited to dive into more Dakonian males. And they’re so much fun. While I loved Sixx and Kord, Braxx was my favorite. The whole idea of a Dakonian alien being a Big Brother was both so sweet and so funny. Loved it!

Thirst three stories were fun and exciting as the Dakonian men Sixx, Kord, and Braxx came to claim their mail order alien brides from earth. There were kinks in their plans as they actually had to persuade their brides. Then the IDA kept messing up on who was best suited for who , but the.horns never lie and a Dakonian doesn’t either. Fun and exciting reads.

Three aliens persevere against adversity to win their mates in the end!
by sewsummore
Three Dakinian travel to Earth to meet the women who they have been matched to by the Alien Mail Order Agency. Sixx, Kord, and Braxx do meet their fated mates but that was only the start of their journey into matrimony. Their fated mates were women with a history with relationships that never ended well. How these alien men proved their love and win the hearts of their ladies made entertaining reading. Despite their disappointment when the women refuse their advances these aliens persevere against adversity to win their mates in the end.

Moxie signed up for the International Dating Agency since she couldn’t find someone on Earth who suited her. Her first blind date is Sixx, and with one look, she’s hooked. Naturally, this is too easy for them to fall for each other and live happily ever after, so there’s theft and battery and lying and spying and all kinds of high jinks. And Love.
This is the 4th book in this series, and the 1st in Volume 2. All of the stories are exciting and fun and loving. Settle in for the ride!

The writing and editing of all three novels in this omnibus was pretty clean, with only a few typos that I caught in the ARC version of the omnibus. The world building was subtle, deft, and top-notch, with me the reader getting a good taste of future Earth and the Intergalactic society it is a part of. The characterization of all the protagonists was competent, and the development of the romantic arc in all three novels was fairly natural and organic. The plot and pacing was pretty good, with me turning pages quickly and not struggling through any portions due to boredom. However, where these stories failed for me was with the way overdone angst and very low stakes. There was SO MUCH angst in these stories, and there was not the counterbalance of very high stakes causing the angst which would otherwise have made the angst enjoyable, or at least understandable. These novels had various tropes, but a recurring one was the excruciating Refusal to Honestly Communicate, which is a trope I really wish would die already in romance novels. The world building, plot, and pacing rated four stars. The development of the romantic relationship and characterization also rated four stars. Normally, that would mean that the combined score of this omnibus was four stars, but I removed one star from the combined score because of the HIGH angst and LOW stakes, combined with the use of the Refusal to Honestly Communicate trope. The combined score for this omnibus is therefore three stars. These stories all end with a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus for these three novels. I recommend these books for fans of sci-fi romances who enjoy high angst, low stakes romances that contain little or no adventure elements. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this omnibus, though other readers will probably enjoy it much more than I did.

Except for the fact that the males traveled from Dakon to Earth to meet their mates, and the hilarious miscommunication from trying to fully understand Earth-speak… these are three totally separate stories with their own interesting tales created from their own circumstances and backgrounds.

There are three separate short stories in this box set, each one is unique in its own way with its own characters. There’s enough depth so the reader is able to relate to each couple in some sort of fashion. The characters are likable, and the plots are fun to read.
