Two wonderful romances in one book with unforgettable characters, a large family dynamic, great small town vibe, and so much more that immediately captivated me and kept me totally immersed in all that was happening and I wasn’t ready to close the book when I got to the end.
In “Carter’s Cowgirl” I loved the instant attraction and undeniable chemistry between organic farmer Carter Quinn and Avery Scott, a consultant he hired to help take his organic farm to the next level.
His sister Ivy who had once aspired to be a country star meets up with the bad boy of country music, Nash Bennett, ten years after he had bashed her dreams in “Summer Serenade”.
One of my favorite aspects of reading Ms. McClone’s sweet and heartwarming books, is I am able to share them with everyone because they offer a refreshing escape from everyday life and leave a smile on your face and joy in your heart.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The stories are well written and keep your interest. They are heartwarming and full of family love and caring, humor, and romance. The characters are intriguing and lovable. I enjoyed reading both books.
Two Great Stories in one set!
Carters Cowgirl
A Sweet Read! This story is about love, family and new beginnings. I loved Carter and Avery’s story! It was sweet, fun and touchingly realistic. I also got a kick out of Carter’s family. They are a unique bunch and I can’t wait to read more about them!
Summer Serenade
I LOVED it!! Ivy is my idol!! Strong, independent and even though her dreams had been dashed yrs ago, she still had the confidence to keep trying. Nash, on the other hand, I got a little mad at him because he couldn’t see he was being played by an unsavory person. Then I fell in love with him once he made right by Ivy. This story was sweet, heartbreaking (at times), romantic and my heart was filled with joy at the ending! Totally a must read for anyone that believes in following their dreams!
This box set contains two heartwarming, sweet romances set in the Quinn Valley Ranch by this author.
In Carter’s Cowgirl, Avery and Carter try to figure out a relationship between them with love and intimacy while overcoming life’s challenges.
In Summer Serenade, Ivy and Nash get a second chance and try out a renewed relationship between them with drama, heartache, and forgiveness.
These are emotional love stories with drama and steam, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Overall, both are entertaining reads with heart, heat, and a happy for now ending.
I received a free copy of this two book set via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really loved reading these two stories but I knew I would because I haven’t read a single Melissa McClone book that I haven’t liked. She writes great story lines with great characters and you really feel like you know the characters. I definitely loved these Quinn Valley Ranch books!!!!
Carter’s Cowgirl
A sweet and clean romantic story of sexy Carter Quinn and Avery Scott, the consultant he hires for his farm. I enjoyed the two characters trying to be professional and ignoring the chemistry between them. When the job is over who knows what will happen. Great characters and a great story. You have to love the Quinn’s of Quinn Valley.
Summer’s Serenade
What a beautiful, love story of two characters whose paths had crossed for the worse ten years ago. Both are wiser and older now although Nash does not remember meeting Ivy on a reality tv show he was judging.
Nash and Ivy seemed so real and down to earth as they worked on writing songs together. I liked how Ivy stood up for herself against Nash’s manager’s ideas. I also liked Ivy’s protective brothers and her matchmaking grandmother who encouraged her to rekindle her dreams and move to Nashville.
I enjoyed the deleted scenes or chapters at the end of the book. I could really picture this book being made into a movie. I received an advance copy of this set and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Having read both of these stories when they were released on their own, I wanted to add my reviews onto the box set.
Carter’s Cowboy
Carter isn’t looking for romance, since the farm takes up all his time and energy. His grandmother would like to see him married, and makes no secret of this wish, to Carter or his siblings and cousins! Avery also isn’t looking for romance, but for different reasons. Her looks have held her back, or in some cases, interfered with both jobs and her personal/family life. So even though she connects with Carter right away, there’s no way this can go anywhere.
Naturally, they are no match for the wonderfully sweet, funny and heartfelt storytelling of Melissa McClone! She invites the reader into the hero and heroine’s minds and hearts from page one, and paves the journey with humor, realism and love. Always a must-read author for me, each book holds a special place in my heart while they try to jockey for top place.
Carter’s Cowgirl is another winner
Summer Serenade
Ivy is ultimately very forgiving when she discovers country star Nash Bennett hiding out in her uncle’s hotel. Nash is the reason she gave up on her dreams of moving to Nashville to become a singer/songwriter. He crushed her dreams 10 years earlier, and at first doesn’t even remember doing it.
I will give them both credit for owning up to their mistakes (Nash) and letting go of past slights (Ivy), but the relative speed in which this happened dropped this from a 5 to a 4 star for me. It has nothing to do with McClone’s writing, which I always thoroughly enjoy! I think it’s more about the sub genre of sweet romance. Plus, as much as I am both a fan of music and country music specifically, there’s something about “rock star” heroes that leave me a bit cold.
Fan of sweet romance, Ms. McClone and second chances will love this story!
Carter`s Cowgirl
Carter hires Avery to help him to expand his farm. They are attracted to each other but decided to keep it professional. When admiring grows to more Avery is scared. She is pushed down by everyone the loved or worked for. Will Carter be different?
This is such a fun story, with not only lovable main characters but all the crazy family members that will do everything to help each other.
Summer Serenade
Ivy and Nash, a famous country star, have a history, for her the worst time of her life while he can’t remember. Now they meet again. Nash is in awe when he hears her sing but she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. Can he make amends and can she forgive him? Will their love for music bring them together? Take this emotional ride with Nash and Ivy, and the rest of her family.
I really loved this story, Ivy is such a lovable character but I wanted to yell to Nash to not be so stupid, luckily he woke up before it was too late.
In Carter’s Cowgirl, his grandmother has been after him to find a nice girl and settle down, but he’s too busy running the organic farm the Martins left him. Farming consultant Avery Scott has been burned in the past by women getting jealous of her attractive features, thinking she’s seducing their men starting with her own mother. She’s afraid to trust another man and she puts up walls to protect herself. She feels a kinship with Carter over his love of farming and their horses and his willingness to accept the ideas of a woman, but when he shows signs of jealousy, she runs wanting to leave before he makes her go.
In Summer Serenade, Nash hurt Ivy ten years ago when he went mean judge on her at on a reality show competition. But she’s a much better singer-songwriter now and he wants to work with her. Still it will take a lot to overcome that hurt and trust him. They get closer musically and romantically until Nash listens to the wrong person and has to decide what’s important to him and who he can trust. I watch reality show competitions and I’ve seen how soul crushing some of the judges can be. Some famous singers and musicians were rejected there and went on to be very successful. I liked that Ivy’s family kept her dream alive having her sing at the family pub.
These were both clean romances with plenty of sweet and funny moments. I love the Quinn family especially matchmaking Grams.
I totally enjoyed reading the two heartwarming, sweet romance stories in Quinn Valley Ranch, two book set by Melissa McClone. These stories provide second chances, forgiveness, and fulfilling one’s dreams for two couples as they take a chance on relationships, love, and romance.
In Carter’s Cowgirl, organic farmer Carter Quinn needs to convince consultant Avery Scott to take a chance on him and love knowing they could have a wonderful and loving life together.
In Summer Serenade, Nash Bennet was recovering in Quinn Valley, from exhaustion and a leg injury. As a well-known country music star Nash was bored hiding from his fans and the media as well as struggling to find his creative muse. Attending a weekend music night in town, Nash heard Ivy Quinn sing at her family’s restaurant. Neither Ivy nor Nash could ever imagine how that one night could change both of their lives. Ivy and Nash were talented songwriters but working together improved their talent. After the treatment Ivy received from Nash years before, on national television. Nash needed to man up and let go of his past, apologize to Ivy, and get her to take a chance on him and on love.
Ms. McClone wrote a wonderfully sweet and moving story that is not to be missed. This story contains fun dialogue, endearing and likable characters, family support, and the magic of love. I highly recommend Quinn Valley Ranch to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The set has two books from the Quinn Valley series. The books are independent so you can enjoy them standalone or in any order.
Carter’s Cowgirl is a sweet story. Carter is trying to make his farm grown and prosper. He’s had a great support system from his family. Avery hasn’t had a good support system and has been on her own for a long time. They were perfect for each other. It’s a great story.
Summer Serenade is another great story. It’s a lesson in pursuing your dreams, learning who to trust and forgiveness. I read this in one sitting as it kept my attention from the first page. The characters were likable and I was cheering them on every step of the way! I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a 2 book set from a series. I have not read the other books in the series but it was not a problem, they can easily be read as a stand alone.
The books are set in the town of Quinn Valley, Idaho. I love the closeness of this family, the match-making grandmother, and all of the cousins (25 to be exact) who try to resist!
In Carter’s Cowgirl, Carter Quinn is trying to expand his Organic farm and hires Avery Scott as a consultant. He is so focused on the farm that he doesn’t have time to date, but watching Avery and listening to her, he discovers the woman he has been looking for. Avery is tired of being noticed for her looks and has a bit of a chip on her shoulder. But Carter is just the cowboy that her cowgirl heart longs for.
In Summer Serenade, Ivy Quinn put her dreams of a music career aside when she was humiliated 10 years ago on a Reality TV show. She is happy enough waiting tables and singing some at her family’s pub. But she is not prepared when the man who crushed her dream, singer Nash Bennett, shows up in town. He is amazed by her singing and wants to help make her a star. The bad news, he doesn’t remember her or what he did to destroy those dreams so many years ago.

McClone keeps it simple and captivating with big time romance.
Carter’s Cowgirl – Love sneaks up on two wary hearts with enamoring results. Avery and Carter make a slow burn into the most tempting foreplay. Carter’s Cowgirl puts emotions on notice that McClone is here to stay. (5 star)
Summer Serenade – Ivy Quinn is living her own country strong. Will it prove to be a ballad of heartache or a duet of second chances? Summer Serenade begins with a dream. One woman dares to follow her heart and ends up facing betrayal, heartbreak and love along the way. Ivy is the dreamer who wants to be star. Nash is the star who has lost the ability to dream. Both have a great deal to learn about falling in love. Sweet surrender with a hint of sassy. (5 stars)
Carter’s Cowgirl:
These books are Melissa McClone’s contributions to a multi-author series set in Quinn Valley, Nevada. These books are sweet simmering romance and there are new scenes and recipes too.
Carter has hired a consultant to help him take his Organic Farm to the next level. For the last couple of years it’s just been status quo and he now feels he’s at the point he can do more. He has the bunkhouse set up for her since there are no hands on the property in the winter.
Avery is the consultant, she travels from farm to farm with her horse Mercury, he is her only family.
Now when Carter brings her to the bunkhouse, they discover the heat is out, and after an initial check, he’d have to call in an expert. This is when Avery freaks out a bit when Carter offers her a room in the main house.
Now while these two are definitely attracted to each other, there are some outside forces as well. There are Quinn’s everywhere and Carter’s grandmother would definitely like to see him at least dating.
I love the slow build of friendship that grows steadily to a love that can’t be denied.
Lots of fun, laughter, and animal chats.
Summer Serenade:
Ivy Quinn writes music and occasionally performs at her siblings bar and grill. Even though they keep telling her to pursue her music she is perfectly happy waitressing and performing once in a while here.
Nash Bennett is in Quinn Valley for R&R and physical therapy after falling off the stage during a performance in Seattle. Everyone involved with him had signed a non-disclosure agreement. This is to prevent the paparazzi from finding him and hindering his recovery.
Things were going just fine, until he hears Ivy sing.
Nash of course couldn’t let things be, and then the fireworks start when he reveals himself to her. She knows him and she wants nothing to do with him.
I love the way this story plays out, it is emotional and satisfying. There is humor, romance and also betrayal and redemption.
Wonderful reads! Heartache, pain from the past, trust issues, second chances and sweet romance. Wonderful interaction with the Quinn family members as they support and protect their own, ending with well deserved happily ever afters.
Carter’s Cowgirl – A sweet romance about taking a risk on love. Will Avery and Carter succeed? Add in a matchmaking/meddling grandma and they don’t stand a chance to not fall in love.
Summer Serenade – Ivy has suffered the loss of her father and then the loss of her dream. Ten years later she runs into Nash, the dream killer, and sparks are flying. I loved how he wouldn’t give up on her and her dream. They both showed such growth and strength throughout this book. He did aggravate me somewhat toward the end – fame can really taint your thought process. Loved her family and the town. Really sweet ending and great epilogue.
