When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
Jenny and Margret Bradshaw lost their home and everything else when Jenny’s father dies after losing their family business. Her domineering uncle wants to marry her to someone much older – and richer – without thought for her wishes. Desperate, they turn to the classified ads and write to Mathew Jenkins, a rancher in Bear Creek looking for a wife. Encouraged by his Indian friend, Brown Bear, he places an ad for a wife.
Mathew agrees to take Jenny and Margret in and the story just takes off from there. Conflicts with miners in the area lead to complications for all of them, but it all works out in the end. Jenny and Margret have always lived a privileged life, but show great determination and spirit in learning to care for themselves and a home.
I absolutely loved that Mathew, Jenny, and Margret were all so kind, in addition to being hard working and resourceful. Their respect and love for Brown Bear and his tribe was admirable as well. This story is action packed and fast paced and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I received an advance reader copy and leave my honest review voluntarily.
Great book. Fun read. I got drawn in to this book right from the start.
I listened to this one on audio. The narrator, Alan Taylor, is fantastic!
The story for this book is quite interesting. I thought it fantastic and a great and perfect start to this series, Bear Creek Brides.
3.5 Stars- Matthew put an ad in the paper seeking a wife. Jenny and her mother, Margaret, were stuck in a volatile situation and took a leap of faith. This is a sweet and very clean story. The romance is light and airy. Having the storyline about the Sioux Indians was interesting and gave another layer to the background of the area and the people.
The narrator has a smooth and nice range of voice.

Sweet Historical Romance
I enjoyed the narration more than the romance, and most of the story was very good, but, his proposal ruined the book for me.
I loved it!!
I loved Matthew in this story. He really opened his life to Jenny, even though he didn’t require marriage for her to come to his ranch. Jenny I found she played the I want to build my own life card way too much. She didn’t even think what she was imposing on Matthew. Matthew however fell hard for Jenny, and wanted to find some way to show Jenny how much he cared. Unfortunately, the miners tried to start a war while Jenny was in the Indian’s camp. The plot & story line are excellent, but Jenny’s character was off putting at times, and her cooking skills are quite different translating them from a recipe to actually cooking, especially when you have never cooked before. Her mother was fortunate that she knew how to do certain things, even though she never actually did them herself.
The Rescued Bride’s Savior: Historical Western Mail Order Bride Romance
Bear Creek Brides, Book 1
By: Amelia Rose
Narrated by: Alan Taylor
After the death of her father, Jenny Phillips is faced with an arranged marriage for money by her uncle. Not willing to settle for this, Jenny and her mother Margaret embark on a journey to Montana in answer to a mail order bride ad placed by Matthew Jenkins. Matthew is lonely and after hearing Jenny’s plight is willing to have her come to live with him. And then our fun begins. While there is definite chemistry between Jenny and Matthew, their class difference is evident. It’s a blast listening to the adjustments Jenny and Margaret have to go through to become part of the ranchers. I liked Matthew with his patience and loving manner too. The growing love between Matthew and Jenny is slow and sweet. It’s an easy listen, full of fun, memorable scenes and characters and gives that warm feeling to your heart.
Alan Taylor has the perfect voice for western historical romance. He holds a slight twang to his voice, and the warm baritone is very soothing to the ears. Easily switching between characters, there is no problem distinguishing who is speaking. He always makes a listen enjoyable.

Jenny Phillips and her Mom Margaret Phillips were from a well to do family but learned very quickly through no fault of their own how to live in a poorer world. They have spunk and actually are willing to do hard work and get things done that they need to do. Jenny responds to a mail order bride offer. Mathew Jenkins has finally decided to settle down but due to the lack of single women in the area he decides to put out an ad for a mail order bride. Jenny responded to his in a truthful fashion and Mathew the gentleman he is could not let them stay in the predicament that they were in. Jenny and Margaret were not born into his world but did their best to fit in and finally learned to love it.
It was a very sweet story and I liked all of the main Characters. Margaret seemed uppity at first but by the end she changed into a more open minded person whom was willing to be friends with many people. A quick read.

A sweet and endearing. Jenny and her mother are looking for a new start. Mathew is looking for a wife. It works out well when they get together. Jenny has a lot to learn but comes to love the man, his friends and his lifestyle. This is a story about tolerance and perseverance where love triumphs.
A story of survival and adapting to one’s circumstances, this mail-order romance is enjoyable, inspiring and adventurous. In deep disgrace after her father’s crimes have been uncovered and his subsequent death, Jenny and her mother go to live her Uncle Duke, who is a thoroughly disagreeable man. Wanting to use Jenny for his own gain, he starts to arrange to marry Jenny off to the highest bidder, forcing her to take matters into her own hands. When the letter arrives offering her the possibility of marriage in Bear Creek, Jenny persuades her ailing mother to gather their things together and embark on the journey to Montana with her. The romance between Mathew and Jenny builds slowly as Jenny and her mother learn to fend for themselves, cooking, housekeeping and discovering new ways of doing things, so very different from their past elegant lifestyle. The plot is intriguing and well written. I loved Mathew’s gentle spirit and his interaction with the Indian community, as well as his respectful and encouraging way with both Jenny and Mrs Phillips. He gives both ladies the opportunity to find their feet, all the while working at winning Jenny’s heart. Jenny is a strong, positive person, turning lemons into lemonade and looking for opportunities in a desperate situation. The fact that her mother was able to overcome the past and grow into their new opportunity says much for her as well. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. A sweet story of two people getting to know each other: Jenny and her mother flee to Montana; Jenny as a mail-order prospective bride. Mathew, a lonely rancher looking to find love and start a family. Their interaction is chaste. So if you’re looking for something steamy, this isn’t it. A good read except for one slightly irritating thing: Jenny keep saying she’s not going to compare this new life with their old privileged life in Virginia, but she keeps doing so. Other than that, still good. I received this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
Suddenly destitute mother and daughter find happiness by taking a risk!
THE RESCUED..BRIDES. SAVIOR….
Amelia..Rose
Matthew with his longer hair, and having Indian friends, watching the sun set on his cattle ranch. The cattle drive was done, now preparing for the winter, and feeling lonesome, what was he missing, Leaving school early he had no friends. Brown Bear the Sioux Chief telling him the miners won’t stay off their land, and scaring the deer away. Then telling him The Great Spirit had a message for him to get a wife, and fill his house.
With their father dead and the scandal, her mother and her had no home. Now with the Uncle now saying Jenny had to marry, the suitor were old enough to be a father. Her Mother shows her the matrimony ads in the newspaper. and thinking it was a joke to lighten their distress. Could she live out west, and learn domestic chores.
A heartwarming story that flowed, learning the hopes these two have for
marriage and companionship. A different life for Jenny and her mother,
giving them freedom, and out from the Uncle and a marriage Jenny didn’t
want. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
This is the first book in the new series. I enjoyed it. Mathew and Jenny want to make a life together. This is a mail order bride romance, where Jenny wants to escape her uncle and help her mom out as well. The storyline was good and just enough suspense to keep me interested.
Well written story with strong, well developed characters. Really enjoyed reading this book, seeing how Jenny took hold of making a new future for herself and her mother. Both Jenny and Margaret, her mother, surprised themselves with their newfound abilities, earning the respect of Matthew, the townspeople, and the Indians.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review
Suspense filled romance!
This is a very sweet and interesting romance about a young lady and her mother who flee their previous life after a brief correspondence with a rancher, straight to Montana where she connects up with the rancher.
He accepts them into his home and life and they soon find work, meet and befriend the local Indians. Jenny and Mathew soon find that they have a mutual attraction and that their liking of each other is growing daily.
I loved the strengths that each of these three characters show and also that this was a really easy story to follow. There are some suspenseful, nail-biting moments that may have you trying to figure out what will happen before it does and this makes the story even more interesting.
I really did enjoy this story tremendously and my voluntary and unbiased review of the Advance Reader Copy (ARC) which I read is recorded above
