Nicole Bastian wants a life of adventure, just as her father and brother have as government secret agents, but because she is a woman, they don’t want her assistance. She overheard about the string of train robberies in which government money was stolen, and she decides to do her own investigating. What she finds, however, is something that indicates the man of her dreams, Ashton Lee, one of the … the wealthy owners of Conrail as the number one suspect. Desperate to remain cool and impartial, Nicole strives to keep her suspicions quiet until she learns what Ashton is keeping from her. At the same time, she’s determined to keep her own secrets from Ashton, hoping he never finds out.
Ashton Lee is immediately attracted to the woman he’d met at the masked ball. Unfortunately, there’s something not right about her, and he can’t put his finger on why he thinks this way. She’s mysterious, beautiful, but very secretive. Dare he allow her to soften his heart? And more importantly, will she understand why he keeps secrets from her?

Nicole and Ashton meet by chance at a masked ball. Even though he is attracted to her he feels there is something she is hiding. Nicole comes from a family of government spies and even though she wants to follow in their footsteps, she is female and not allowed. She ends up minding other people’s business to learn what she can to help her brother solve cases. Too many secrets being kept leads to problems in relationships. This is a real page turner that will keep you guessing! I highly recommend it!
I received an advance copy of this book from the author and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Nicole and Ashton meet during a masked ball and their attraction is immediately. But there’re so many secrets, will it be to many , can they ever trust each other enough to build a life together?
This was such a fun story. It has everything secrets (of course) family loyalty, suspense and of course a great love story. I really recommend this story.
Too Many Secrets is a fun short read. Nicole and Ashton have a Cinderella and Prince Charming dialog going on. But there are also spies, secrets, train robberies and more in this interesting, well written tale. There is more than one twist. I do not want to say more and give something away, but I will suggest that you do not want to miss this fun adventure.
Secrets, secret agents, secret agent wanna-be’s, secrets kept, secrets revealed, so many secrets in a wonderfully entertaining story with plenty of suspense and romance.
Spies, intrigue, secrets, attraction, and of course a hero and heroine that bring this story alive from the first page! Nicole Bastian wants to help her father and brother in their work for the government as spies. She just needs to prove herself and her first step is trying to find out who has been robbing trains for government money. Not the best idea?
Her opportunity comes when one of the owners of Conrail, Ashton Lee becomes attracted to her at a masked ball. But he knows she is hiding something and is determined to find out exactly what it is?
Can these two find the answers they are looking for or will everything come out?
Very entertaining read as all of Marie’s books are, with a little extra thrown in that kept me wondering what would happen next!
Nicole wants to be a spy like her father and brother but her father wants her married and settled. When she meets Ashton at a ball she is smitten but soon becomes suspicious that he is robbing his own train and he is also thinking she is hiding secrets. This is a wonderful story with just as wonderful characters all with a little romance thrown in. Could not put this book down. Loved it!
This one is fun, funny, mysterious & oh so good. I love Nicole & Ashton as they are suspicious of each other & work so hard to keep their secret a secret. Another fabulous book by one of my favorite authors. Keep up the good work. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary, honest opinion.
