What an amazing boxset!! These books were the first ones I’ve read by this author and they were absolutely fantastic. Each story was full of passion, laughter, heartbreaking moments and many heartwarming scenes. I loved every single character in this series; they will all have a place in my heart for a long time, as well as the small town of Zachsville TX.
Running From a Rock Star (Gavin & Scarlett)
Running with a Sweet Talker (Jack & Luanne)
Running for the Law (Hank & Charlie) – My favorite of the four books
Running After a Heartbreaker (Beau & Hailey)
These four Rom Coms had me smiling, laughing, crying and swooning from the very first page to very last page. So much so, I would move to Zachsville, TX just so I could be friends with them all! All of the characters are intertwined in all four books, so we get to see what is happening with their lives throughout the story.
These are all great reads packed with humor, tons of feels, romance, steamy sex scenes (some made me sweat a little), drama, some secrets and a bunch of secondary characters that had me in stitches! The best parts of this series… all four books in one box, no cliff hangers and all HEA’s!
4 integrated stories. Very enjoyable romances mixing Hollywood and Country Music with small snarky small town small minded peeps. I’d read another one.
Running From A Rock Star
These characters come alive the moment the scene opens. they leapt off the page and into my heart from the very beginning. Scarlett’s a good girl trying to live down her mother’s reputation. She’s got a heart as big as all of Texas but almost no one in her small-minded town will see it. She will, quite literally, break her own heart to prevent causing pain to the people she loves. Gavin’s had to fight to earn everything he’s ever gotten in his life. So when the best thing he’s ever had comes into his life that easily, he doesn’t trust that it’s as good, as pure, as she appears to be. And so begins the comedy of errors that we witness as Gavin and Scarlett strive for their happily-ever-after. Along the way, we meet their zany family and friends who are almost more fun than our hero and heroine. I laughed so hard while reading this that my sides are still hurting. I am now desperately looking forward to the next book in the series to see just how many more sparks Jack and Luanne can strike off each other.
Running with a Sweet Talker
Again! Since finishing reading book one, I’ve been impatiently waiting to get my greedy little hands on this book. And I am so glad it’s finally here. The chemistry between Jack and Luanne fairly crackles off the page. Their snappy banter and sarcastic sniping at one another is completely outrageous; giving me all kinds of laugh-out-loud moments while reading this book. Jack and Luanne really have more than their fair share of baggage that they need to unpack – family drama is serious business. I loved how this pair bonded during their road trip hardships. That during their travels they opened up to one another and discovered that the other wasn’t the arch nemesis they believed. That there was a flawed, vulnerable, lovable human being behind the protective masks.
Running From the Law
I have been absolutely dying to get my hands on the next book in this series, so I was beyond excited to read this. This book was not at all what I was expecting to get. Maybe it was the mood I was in, but there was just too much angst, drama, and emotional manipulation for me. I completely understand why the characters do the things they do, behave in the ways we see. The book is brilliantly written, and I think that was part of my problem. The characters are so real they leap off the page and straight into my imagination. So real that I want to smack both Charlie and Hank, or at least take the pair of them and shake them, yelling “get over yourselves!” I thought Charlie was a whiny brat, too invested in getting her own way in everything. And Hank was not the alpha I’d come to expect from previous heroes in the series. He lets the women in his life get away with far too much bad behavior at the expense of his self-respect and emotional well-being. This was a long book with a lot of things happening in it. Not only do we have the drama between Hank and Charlie, we’ve also got Charlie’s imploding/evolving career and missing money as well as everything with Hank’s extended family and the drug kingpin he’s supposed to stop. There were times I found it difficult to keep track of which plot thread I was following. I know that there will be readers that love the over-the-top emotional turmoil of this book, but all the self-sabotage wasn’t doing it for me. However, the adorably precious epilogue almost makes up for all of it.
Running After a Heartbreaker
I’ve been really lucky of late to read a series of books that were just so good they’ve left me speechless. This one doesn’t break the pattern. I adored Beau. I have from the moment he first stepped on the page however many books ago that way. He’s a true Southern charmer, just like his cousin. And all that charm gets him into just as much trouble as it gets him out of. I’m not quite sure why, but I really connected with Hailey. None of the events in her life mirror mine, but I find myself repeating a lot of her actions. It broke my heart to watch her do those things, especially knowing the consequences that would be coming her way. Lottie is just the most adorable ball of precocious energy. With her too-wise observations, this book would have been a very different story without the con-artist in the making. I loved getting the chance to see how all the previous couples from the series are making out. And even though I don’t have a clue where the series is going to take us next, I’m looking forward to the journey.
I received complimentary copies of the individual books from the author.
There is Rom-com and then there is Jami Albright! From the first few pages of the first book in this series, I literally laughed out loud until my sides ached! Running from a Rock Star is my all-time favorite romantic comedy followed closely by the other 3 books in this series. The author has a quirky sense of humor that I connect with. The characters are memorable and the novels are a real treat. Pick this series up, and start reading today. This box set is the best cure for winter blues!
LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!!!
RUNNING FROM A ROCK STAR:
I absolutely loved this!!!
Running From a Rock Star was a delightfully delicious RomCom that had me smiling, laughing, and swooning quite often.
Full of so much humor and sexiness and feel-good moments, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Gavin & Scarlett were adorable and lovable and their chemistry sent sparks right off the pages.
Scarlett tried so hard to be a good girl, she doesn’t want to be anything like her mother. So she has to behave. But her inner wild child can not resist the charm of Gavin Bain. And who could blame her?? My goodness, that man is pure sex. And he’s kind. And has a big…heart.
It was fun, it was hilarious, and it was sexy! I can’t say enough good things about this. If you love a well-written, steamy RomCom, you’ll want to get this on your TBR right now!
This was my first read by this author and I look forward to reading EVERYTHING she writes.
I couldn’t wait to dive into book 2!
RUNNING WITH A SWEET TALKER:
Jack…dreamy, sexy, arrogant Jack.
Behind that mask of confidence and sexiness and pure male goodness, hides a vulnerable man… who isn’t such a tough guy all the time.
Luanne is a little spitfire who intrigues Jack.
He can’t resist her sass.
He’s drawn to her beauty.
The chemistry between these two was electric. Their relationship was fun, never boring. Both being attorneys, they can’t help but try to outsmart the other.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching them try to stay away from each other.
They irritated each other.
They picked at each other.
Yet they watched out for each other.
They needed each other.
The slow burn was delicious.
This was another fabulous story in the series with more excellent writing that made me fall in love with everything about it.
I immediately dove into book 3!
RUNNING FROM THE LAW:
Loved, loved, loved this!!
“Charlie and Hank forever.”
This series has quickly become a favorite.
The cast of characters is so lovable and hilarious and FUN and I just want to be their friends and hang out with them ALL THE TIME.
In this story, we get more humor, snark, sass…all of that RomCom goodness we love. It’s also full of so much heart and warm-fuzzy feel-good moments that make you go awwww. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Luckily when I finished this, book #4 had just released! Perfect timing!!
RUNNING AFTER A HEARTBREAKER:
Loved this so much!!!!!!
When I found out that Beau’s book was #4, I couldn’t read book 3 fast enough. I needed the smirking, charming, and sexy AF country singer’s story. And Ms. Albright did not disappoint.
Beau is a huge flirt, with a sexy as sin smirk, and has a heart of gold. I want to hug him and squeeze him and call him my own.
Hailey and Beau tried so hard to stay away from each other. It was best they remained friends. But guess what? Their chemistry was off the charts HOT. So they decided they needed to be friends with some fun, sexy times added in the mix.
And then feelings had to go and get involved.
Also, there was a cute and sassy, mini-Hailey named Lottie. She is a big part of this story and I fell for her hard. Constantly getting her heart broken, I just wanted to make all of her sadness go away. But Mr. Sexy Pants Beau stepped up and already had that covered. Because he’s awesome. And beautiful. And kind. He fell hard for her, too.
I love that we see the characters from the previous books, because I love them, too! The cast of characters from this series has found a place in my heart.
This is yet another amazing story in this series. This well-written RomCom deliciousness had me swooning, smiling, and tingling…everywhere.
So many warm fuzzies.
Lots of laughs.
Tons of smiles.
All the feels.
I would like to scream from the rooftops for everyone to read this series. Do you have to read the first three books before this one? No. But I really think you should. Because you will love them.
I love this series!

Epilogue
I look forward to reading more from Jami Albright.
Small town romance with big city personality. Brides on the Run is full of laugh out loud moments and scene stealing characters. The chase is on with this heartwarming, dramedy series. From scandalous hookups to long overdue reunions, Albright captivates hearts with this intriguing glimpse into love.
All 4 stories are fabulous! One leads into the next and all are original and while by the same author, I like that there isn’t much similarity as you may see with other authors.
These books are funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
