Sometimes to find the answers to the present, we have to look to the past…As Australia joins with England in declaring war on Nazi Germany, the vampires of Sydney are under strict instructions: a human war is none of their affair. Privately, King Vincent learns of a weapon being created inside the Empire of Japan. One said to be powerful enough to devastate vampire kind. How will he uncover its … uncover its secret?
Meanwhile, Duke Slade prepares his pack for war as he receives alarming news. A spellbook, one of three ancient items leading to absolute power, has been found on his land. Should it fall into the hands of the Axis, will anything in the world stop Hitler?
But the book holds something within its pages: a dark presence unlike anything he’s ever known. And it doesn’t care about pack dynamics or the war threatening all of Europe. It has no allegiance, no conscience, bar its unshakable will to be free. Will it destroy everyone that gets in its way?

Spectacular. Phenomenal. Thought-provoking. Evocative. Scary. Worthy of the rereads to come. And I. Wasn’t. Ready!
I’ve waited almost two years for this moment, for the chance to get back into the twisted story that has captivated from its start. This story is rich with culture and tradition, customs and rules, morals and virtues, friendship and enmity, honesty and betrayal, love and hate. There are caring and compassionate humans as well as immoral and corrupt ones. Vampires who treat humans as meat and one vampire who seems to cherish humanity. There are werewolves who have a time-honored bond that is broken with the misery that only dark magic can bring. Peace Keeper: Part One has so many moving parts and it is all set to blow your mind against the backdrop of WWII. The atrocities and horror the author introduced not only warped my mind, making me wonder just where in his twisted brain do these ideas even come from, but that had me thinking about what kind of world we live in. Not all humans are just or kind and Speer didn’t shy away from revealing the ugliness of all that could be possible.
I could sit here and tell you so much more about the plot, the characters, my theories, etc. I could continue to extol the incredible talent that this author consistently demonstrates. I could, but… I’ve given it five stars. Doesn’t that tell you something? Get to one-clicking!
This story was very different from this author’s previous books. In this book we travel back to the setting of World War 2 with lots of varying plot lines that were slightly hard to follow but I did enjoy seeing Duke’s story set against that timeline & I’m interested to see where this story lead. Well worth reading.
AMAZING! FANTASTIC! I haven’t found a writer that could hold my attention and draw me into a book quite like Aaron Speer and this book is unbelievably amazing!! I couldn’t put it down. The story is well developed, the historical references are very detailed and well explained, the writing is seamless and the character development was outstanding, we visit old characters and meet new ones, and it made for an engaging and page turning read. I definitely recommend this book, actually I’m a huge fan of this series and recommend you read the complete series.
#sladesgirl has a whole new meaning!
When I say the author did it again, I don’t just mean produced another great read. Even though he did. His characters never fail to jump off the page at me. To connect and make me want to turn the pages faster. To make me forget where I am.
But what I mean is he pulled me into another book that I typically probably wouldn’t have read before I gave his stories a chance. WW2 is usually a no-go era for me. I’m not sure why. But when looking at a book or movie set in that era, I tend to go, “Meh. Not in the mood.”
So why did I read it? Experience. This author has the ability to change readers’ minds. To pull us into places and situations that we’d normally turn our noses up at. And we come out on the other side wondering why we waited so long to jump into them.
So let’s count them–PNR, MMA, Horror, and now WW2–All types of books Speer has written over the last few years and all books that if I had been asked five years ago if I had any recommendations to give someone, I would have said, “Sorry. Not my thing.” And NOW. Totally my thing. Or at least Speer books are totally my thing. I now recommend them on the daily. And I’m recommending them, right now, to you.
He’s a one-click no-brainer for me. But bring the tissues because his words always find a way to leave me a huge messy puddle.
Holy crap! This is absolutely mind blowing!! The twists and turns keep coming as we go back in time. This one is like a back story and fills some gaps but leaves me with so many more questions!!!!
I can’t believe I had it in my kindle and hadn’t read it!! I love this author and I love this series!!
I totally loved the story line. It clarified some of the previous story lines from the first 4 novels but also opens up what I believe to be future story lines. Now i have to wait for part 2
I’m in awe as Aaron takes us back to a historical point in time, combining his story with events from WW2. With more twists and heartbreaking moments, I was kept totally engrossed in what’s going to happen next… Brilliant Writing.
Absolutely a-freaking-mazing!! Each book in this series gets better and better, and more and more unique. Aaron’s hit his groove in this series and you can really tell with the different approach he took to this book that he’s not afraid to try different things to get his amazing story across to readers. I loved this book so much. Duke is probably my favorite character from it, but I truly enjoyed each and every character in this book; even the ones I hate because of the evil things they do (because they are so well written, they added so much to the story!). Can’t wait to find out what happens next!!
Aaron L. Speer finally takes readers back into his Undeadly Secrets series, his time, dropping us in WWII to see how some of our favorite characters came to be and to gain insight into the current situations happening in Sydney and beyond with the vampires and wolves.
Set amidst the backdrop of WWII, Peace Keeper: Part One introduces readers to a deadly magic that infiltrates the wolf House of Slade in England as well as a new creature said to be even more deadly than vampires in the Empire of Japan.
As a reader, I wasn’t prepared and never saw these storylines coming, but I was completely enthralled! I loved getting to the roots of some of my favorite characters and plotlines and seeing the “why” of what happened and will happen when we get back to more modern times. Fans will love the new characters and will adore seeing some of our favorites back in the day so to speak.
There is so much going on in this book that your head will spin and you’ll be left puzzling over the Easter Eggs this author loves to drop and figuring out how to piece everything together with many ah ha moments! Aaron L. Speer is truly a master storyteller in how he weaves plot lines and characters together in ways that work, but are always unexpected.
Be prepared for high emotions, perhaps a few moments of shouting at your kindle in rage or disbelief and excitement over the what’s to come. 5 stars!
A uniquely written story that blends real history with fantasy that will keep you reading. Well crafted with characters from the series but this fresh approach makes for both an engaging and inspiring read. If you know your history of this era you will appreciate the research done. Author Speer just gets better and better. I consider Undeadly Secrets a must-read and this submission as the best yet. Just when you think an author cannot get better, he levels up, creatively. I can hardly wait for more.

I dont even know where to start with this book other then is amazing read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I just love the writing style of Arrons. This book is the start of amazing series.
The fifth installment of the Undeadly Secrets series gives us a new view of characters we know and introduces us to some really amazing new characters. All the characters are so well-developed and they drew me into the world and left me crying, and laughing and swooning in turns. I had no idea where the WWII story would take me and I was definitely not disappointed. To be honest, I was not sure how WWII would figure into the overall mythology of the series but as the story went on it wove the characters and the time and the events so beautifully that I was so disappointed when it ended! I cannot wait until Part 2. This is one of those stories that paints such a vivid picture that I felt like I was in the midst of battles and conversations and confrontations and all of the feels. I was IN this book. You. Need. To. Read. Enjoy the ride!
Aaron L Speer has done it again! This novel will take you through so many twists and turns and will have your heart racing. Some new characters are introduced, and you can’t help but want more of them. And the OG characters never let you down either. Melina can still go to h e double hockey sticks, but that’s feelings I’ll always harbor for her. Well done Mr Speer. Can’t wait to see where you take us next!
OMG! Writing a review when you’re an emotional wreck is tougher than you’d think.
I am a huge fan of The Undeadly Secrets Series and have been waiting what feels like forever for this installment, but let me tell you, it is more than worth the wait. The story gives a lot of backdated information that gripped me completely, I was nervous about reading historical WW2 references mainly because it’s not my ‘thing’ but it was all completely in keeping with the story and absolutely necessary in understanding the history of some of the main players in the series so far.
I fell in love with old characters all over again and had my heart ripped out more than once by some of the new ones, there is a soul slapping end that caused my family to question my sanity with the tears it evoked.
I implore my fellow readers to jump on this series immediately, Mr Speer has clearly put blood, sweat and tears into this story, it was completely gripping and a beautiful homage to a beloved hero in Aaron’s family (in my humble opinion).
This is an absolutely brilliant prequel to the Undeadly Secrets series. Speer has expertly crafted a unique story with werewolves, vampires, and unknown mystical powers, all wrapped up with real events from World War II summarized at the end of each chapter. It’s generously littered with Easter eggs from all of Speer’s previous works. They’re bright gems in this dark tale about a dark time in history. There might not be a huge a cliffhanger at the end, but he’s certainly set it up nicely for the next book, which we’re all impatiently waiting for.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Several stories happening in different places during the same time period. Some of the characters intersect, adding great interest. Looking forward to part two.
What a fantastic trip back in time. Good gravy I can’t say enough about this series. I love everything about it. In this book we travel back in time. We get to see old characters we thought were long gone and meet new characters that are very important later in the story line. I have my theories on things but since this is part 1 I’ll keep them to myself because they may be spoilers. Of course don’t read this book if you haven’t read the others in this series because you’ll be super confused. I loved reading this and can’t wait to read part 2.
