OMG! I’m so upset right now! I intended to read a few chapters before I had to do the adulting thing and before you knew it, I finished the book! I wasn’t ready for it to end!!! I wasn’t ready to leave Baytown and these characters and I definitely wasn’t ready to come back to reality! I want to live in Baytown!!! This author never fails to pull me right in to her stories and keep me there. And I have really been looking forward to Colt’s story. Ah swoon!!!!! Ms. Jordan hasn’t written a character that I have not loved! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! I’m ready for more!
I’ve been interested in Colt Hudson since his introduction in Mitch’s book, Coming Home. Although he has been a peripheral character throughout the Baytown Boys series, something about him caught my attention to where I began looking for glimpses of him throughout the other stories. So, imagine how happy I am to read his story.
After leaving the military, Colt Hudson comes home and runs for the position of sheriff of North Heron County. He’s got a lot on his plate and with a bad marriage in his past along with baggage from his childhood, he keeps to himself. That’s not to say he doesn’t notice the pretty Ms. Carrie Beaumont, a single mother who works in the diner he frequents every day.
Carrie Beaumont is a single mother to Jack, an amazing character. I love this kid! She is completely devoted to him and works hard to make a good life for herself and her son. And just like Colt noticing her, she has been aware of him since the first day he walked into the diner so many years ago.
Both tell themselves they don’t have time for a relationship and secretly think they aren’t good enough for each other. Their attraction continues to grow and when an investigation throws them together, they decide to take a chance on each other. Watching their relationship develop was a beautiful thing. I think I loved seeing Colt and Jack become closer as much as I did Colt and Carrie.
Just as with Maryann’s other books, everything is on point. There’s suspense, romance, passion, love, friendship, etc. All the feels that make this a Maryann Jordan story. I give Our Time 5 stars and I highly recommend it to everyone. Congratulations to the author. I can’t wait to read Scott’s book next.
5 “Family Feel Good” Stars
Well, another Baytown Boy has come and gone and just like the others, this story did not disappoint. I do enjoy reading along in the series, however – in my opinion – this book can be read as a standalone.
I always love the element of danger and suspense within a story and Maryann does a great job of balancing that along with romance and mystery. Colt and Carrie had an instant attraction but it was a while before either acted on it. But once they did, the Alpha-Steam factor was great. I really enjoyed the secondhand characters in this book just as much as the main ones. The relationship between Mom and Son was accurate and dealt with real issues of a single parent. And I loved George’s character, too. Another great read in the series.
I fell for these characters from the beginning. This book was written so well and I enjoyed the characters and their great chemistry. I love this series and this one was a great addition.
I love all of Maryann Jordan’s books and it’s hard to wait for the next one to come out but she always makes the wait worth it. So glad that Colt finally got his story, as I’ve been following him in this series. Colt and Carrie are a great couple, adding in Jack and weaving in the other characters from the previous books in the series made a great story. Love that we can catch up with them and see how everyone is doing. I would recommend all of Maryann’s books but be warned they are addictive and you will want them all. Now the wait begins for the next one out in this series, already preordered it so I will get to enjoy it in May.
Absolutely Spectacular .
I love this story . I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Our Time . Sheriff Colton Hudson has been attracted to Carrie Beaumont since he first saw her waiting tables at Joe’s place where he gets most of his meals .Carrie is a kind and caring single mother . Her son Jack is her world . During summer break Jack spends his time at activities at the local Church and also the school . There’s a rash of robberies with breaking and entering to the elderly . Colt and his fellow law
inforcement officers are trying to solve and apprehend the criminals . Carrie , Jack and their elderly neibor George find themselves in danger , Colt steps up to help them all .
This story is fantastic , Suspenseful and intriguing . I fell in love with the characters and of course all the Baytown Boys .
I highly recommend taking the time to read this story and enjoy .
I think I always say this about Maryann Jordan but this one is my newest favorite!! Our Time is about family! About finding that one that makes everything seem so simple and easy. About finding the one person who will be ALL you need and who loves you for you.
This book had me in tears, it had me wondering who did it? It had me rooting for a couple you just love so much. This book isn’t just about a couple who gets together no this is about a family who is there for each other every single step of the way.
Maryann Jordan gives us everything we love in a romance with some mystery swirled in. It’s Unputdownable!!
Highly recommended.
Can I just say OMG I absolutely loved this book. It was a perfect fit to the Baytown Boys series. Maryann Jordan definitely had me hooked from the very start with these amazing characters and this fantastic storyline. This was Colt and Carrie’s story, Sheriff Colt Hudson is a man who has his work and no social life except maybe when he has his meal at The Diner to see the pretty waitress. Waitress Carrie Beaumont is a single mother to the most adorable almost teenager eleven year old Jack. Carrie is a loving, caring young woman who gets weak in the knees when every the handsome Sheriff comes in. When there is some trouble near Carrie and Jack, Colt comes to their rescue and this is where the story will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you definitely falling for these great characters. In my opinion this was a well written story with so much heart that I couldn’t put it down. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
This just might be my favorite book in this series! And that is saying something because I have loved them all. We have known Colt throughout many books in this series. It is fantastic to read his happily ever after and well worth the wait!
The Baytown Boys Series is a treasure. Ms. Jordan writes realistic stories and characters that you believe in and want to know. Carrie and Colt’s story is a slow burn that shows a single mother navigating life and a man who doesn’t believe he can take a chance on love. The way they come together is heartwarming. I love how Carries’ son, Jack, was an integral part of the story and not just a background character. This is a story with a heart. A winner. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily give my review.
I absolutely LOVE the Baytown Boys! They are probably my favorite series that Maryann writes, though it’s a tough call sometimes, . This is the story of Colt Hudson the sheriff we have read about in previous books and Carrie Beaumont. Colt and Carrie have been circling around each other for several years hesitant to let the other know how they felt. Neither felt as though they were good enough for the other, so they became casual friends first. This book was a slow buildup and much more family oriented than previous books. With the addition of the elderly neighbor and the young son, it was definitely family centered. I just loved it! Plus it is always nice to catch up with other Baytown Boys families and hear about their growing families! There was a mystery, of course, but that did not drive the story. The story was character driven and had a lot of heart and emotion. Omg, their first few kisses definitely left me with emotion but that epilogue? Goodness! My eyes filled with tears and just good happy stuff!
Another winner in my humble opinion and a solid addition to the Baytown Boys series! I was given an early copy of this story and these thoughts are my own.
This story is a little different that some of the previous ones, but just as good.
This time it belongs to Sheriff Colt Hudson. He became part of the Baytown Boys, after most of the original group had been together. A friendship that start in HS playing baseball and one that continued even after spending 12 years in the military as a military police.
For the last 5 years he hadsbeen the sheriff and one who daily visits the local diner . Not only for the food , but also to see Carri Beaumont. The single mom and waitress whom he has eyes for but one he has never given any hint of how he feels.
Carrie in the meantime, is very attracted to him, but feels he is out of her league.
When they finally started opening up and things seem to move smoothly, thefts in the area and a fire changes their relationship.
Though there is a mystery to be solved, it’s mostly a story about family, relationships, taking chances, hope, new beginnings and the possibility of love. A sweet story that will touch your hearts.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Wow, loved this book. SPOILERS!!! I wholeheartedly recommend this book.
The is the story of Colt and Carrie. The store really brought out reality. Carrie had to deal with being a single pregnant teen where the father basically expected her to terminate her pregnancy. Carrie was lucky in that she had her parents that supported her and loved her through it all. Carrie is a hard working mother that gave her son all the love she had. Then along comes Colt. Took Colt five years to work up the nerve to speak to Carrie. From there the sparks fly and the romance begins.
MaryAnn does not disappoint with the romance and excitement. I wholeheartedly recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book for a voluntary review.
I loved this book; Colt and Carrie are mature, and the potential for their relationship has been growing through seeing each other in the Diner regularly. They have built a mutual respect, and this makes their bond more believable. The real “star” of this book, though, is Jack, Carrie’s son. Colt is one of his baseball coaches, and, as Colt and Carrie’s relationship grows, he becomes a mentor. There is some suspense in the book, just enough to keep you on edge, and there is a great deal of love – not just between Colt and Carrie, but with the other Baytown Boys that pop into the story and with George, Carrie’s neighbour, who becomes part of Colt’s family. The epilogue to this book is particularly heartwarming, and I recommend the book wholeheartedly.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
I love this series! This is definitely one of my favorites. A little suspense and drama along with a great love story. Colt was so awesome! Not only in his love for Carrie but also in his love for George and Jack. Loved the epilogue, brought tears to my eyes.
Really enjoyed this book. Sink into feel good easy read. Has a bit of everything, heart, family the one you are born into and the one you make, a little intrigue and heat. Baytown is the place you want to come home to and the community you want to be in. Definitely recommend reading this book along with the others in the series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Page turning and heartwarming, this latest book in the Baytown Boys series is a must read. Colt Hudson has been a character in several of the other books because of his role as Sheriff, but her finds his HEA with single mom Carrie. Have a tissue or two ready for the last chapter.
I have waited for this book for a while and couldn’t wait to read it. I absolutely love this whole series but there was just something about Colt and the bits and peices you heard of him that just spoke to me. He is that total alpha but at the same time scared to really show is feelings and be vulnerable. Carrie has had it hard had to be a single mom at such a short age but she made it work and gave up everything in the process. These two have had their eyes on one another for a very long time but both scared of the happiness it could bring. Its sweet romance filled with twists and turns and especially some hot and steamy scenes.
Another great book in The Baytown Boys series. Colt and Carrei are a fantastic couple. Colt is a sheriff and Carrie is a waitress with a 10 year old son. Sparks have been flying around them for 5 years before they finally ignite. Thank you Maryann Jordan for another great book! 5 stars!!
