The Relics of Ar’Zac Trilogy by Sarina Langer is an amazing box set that I have loved reading. I can not wai to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this story to everyone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
To be clear for the record, I received an Advanced Review Copy (ARC) of this book with the request that I leave a voluntary honest review for other potential readers. That having been said, here is my honest opinion and review of this book. I read the 3rd book in this trilogy as a stand alone and was able to get the gist of what transpired in the 1st and 2nd books. However, knowing the gist of the story does not compare with having the full details of the narrative. This story is excellently crafted with superb writing. The plot is complex but easily followed do to the tremendously detailed character development and world building. You really get a good feel for the characters and their world right from the beginning. I loved the dragon character, quite snarky and bluntly straight forward, and the chief sparrow, honorable and caring. I’m trying very hard not to give away anything with Spoilers (thank you River Song). War, Quests, Kings, Queens and Gods all abound in this world and I loved it. This trilogy is emensly entertaining and a superlative read. It is most definitely worth the time it takes to read it. If the author should decide to further develop this world, I would absolutely read
This box set includes The Relics of Ar’Zac Trilogy and the prequel novella. I found this series well written and the storyline grabs your interest and keeps it throughout. I enjoyed the characters and found them well written. I recommend the series.

It’s nice to have the trilogy all in one book. The story line is good and can be followed easily. The whole trilogy is fast paced. With a lot going on, there is a lot of back and forth between scenes. That was done in a way that was not distracting. I had a hard time putting it down. I do strongly recommend the book.
I love it when the whole trilogy is all together as it made reading so much easier. It starts out simply as many stories goes with Rachel living on the streets and meeting Cephy. Then the action really begins. It was a great read filled with good and bad guys, a quest, prophecy, magic and a dragon required to win but they have been gone for thousands of years. It read well and kept me entertained and reading to the end to see how the good guys would win and who else Rachel and Cephy will meet and end up helping them conquer the bad guys. Add a few twists and that prophecy and the story was fun.
I loved this book. It had everything. Magic, evil, good against bad. Rachel is an orphan and has lived on the streets of her village surviving on scraps of bread one kind person leaves for her. Because the residents fear and revile her she has no one. And then she rescues and befriends an young girl like her. On who has abilities. Her name is Cephy and she can destroy anything with fire. This is their story and about a prophecy that was foretold hundreds of years ago. Rachael is the seer who is prophesized to kill the current king and save the world by freeing people who have magic. But along the way she will make several friends and meet people who will die for her, and many enemies who want to destroy her and the world. The Dark One has risen and they need to find out how he was trapped hundreds of years ago and do it again. But they have a book they can’t read, and have been told that the only way to succeed is with a dragon. But dragons died out thousands of years ago. Or did they? This is a great boxset for anyone who loves a good epic fantasy! Fast paced and action packed you will find yourself on a great adventure filled with good and evil, magic, dragons, prophecies, and tons of twists and turns! The author has done a great job with the world building and each book just gets better and better!
This volume offers the reader the trilogy and the prequel novella together in one place for all who love fantasy.
I like the approach this author takes with her books. The characters are strong and many are very likable. The story lines are original and intriguing. And having all of these great stories in one set is a real bonus! It does get a bit dark, but the fast pace keeps the reader moving eagerly through the pages, navigating all the twists and turns! Grab your copy and definitely enjoy!
Book 1
This book read like a familiar legend, it had all the requisite elements. The author did a good job bringing them together with her own twist. This book does get very dark in places. The characters are overall well drawn and nuanced, although they did follow tropes in a few places. The magic system was interesting. Same with the plot, much was predictable, if you have read enough of this type book, but some good twists I was not expecting. In many ways it read like a traditional legend.
Book 2
In this second installment of the Relics of ArZac, the world gets much bigger – physically, politically and magically. The book is well paced and the action keeps going while all this new information unfolds. Relationships continue to develop and surprises never stop unfolding.
Book 3
Coming full circle back to where it all began, this book pulled together threads from the previous two books and brought closure to many issues. Despite the grandiose stakes, the book remained tightly focused on a relatively small group of main characters. While much of this story was of necessity dark and violent, it was punctuated by human compassion and humor. It is amazing the change some of these characters have undergone since book 1!
The ending was satisfying and heartbreaking all at the same time. Inevitable in some ways. This arc is finished, but the story of Rachel’s kingdom; that has just begun. (Tiny spoiler, both the romantic arcs got HEAs 🙂
Bonus: Shadow in Ar’Sanciond
This works equally well as a prequel or an epilogue. It sets the stage for the Relics of Arzac trilogy, but it also answers questions you might have after reading the series. It is a short, emotional, action-packed read. There are a few scenes that will have far more of an impact after reading the series. In some ways it will read as a completely different story.
Langer manages to pack an amazing amount of world building and characterization into a relatively short book. Strong addition to the series.
I cannot stress enough how much I have enjoyed this entire trilogy.
This is a must read for lovers of fantasy with quite a bit of action and unexpected twists.
Sarina Langer is becoming one of my favourite indie authors where it comes to fantasy, and I cannot wait to read more of her work.
