Hate to Love You

I loved everything about this book!! It was my first book by Melissa Schroeder but based off her writing style it won’t be my last!

Sydney is a firecracker of an assistant that back talks her workaholic boss like we all wish we could. She works hard and plays harder when her best friend is around. Grady is her uptight, workaholic boss that can’t seem to stand her. When she isn’t feeling her best on a work trip he steps up and takes care of her things start to shift between them. They both know its a bad idea to date but sometimes its good to be bad.

Their chemistry is amazing, their banter is better and the bedroom scenes are the best! The supporting characters (i.e. all the siblings and Nancy) were great and they all made the story so much better. I think some of my favorite scenes involved Grady’s 3 brothers ganging up on him about whats going on with him, or when ever Grady and Carter interacted. I loved that this book made me laugh out loud during multiple scenes and I was not able to put the book down.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a fun, laugh out loud, steamy, office romance.

This is a spin-off of the Camos & Cupcakes world and was absolutely fantastic. Sydney is trying to get ahead in what is largely a man’s world, so she is very careful with her reputation. Her boss Grady Hawthorne tests that on a daily basis. Grady knows she is amazing at her job and that he could never replace her so they both fight their attraction to the other. Grady decides that he is willing to break his own rule and try to have a relationship with her, but they both decide to keep it a secret at the office. Since no one knows about them, one request from Grady’s father, who still has a small hand in the family business, could make or break their relationship. Can their relationship survive the stress and will they be able to move past the fact that Grady kept more than just the relationship a secret?

It is hard to be a woman in a mans world. Syd knows this firsthand. She has liked Grady from the star but he is her boss and he infuriates her to no end. No matter what Syd wants to prove that she can do her job just as good as any man and can stand on her merits. Grady is a temptation that is hard to resist. Grady is fighting his own battle with temptation. Syd is one he should not succumb to but the more he tries to resist the harder it gets. The attraction between the two is off the charts and there is no use fighting it.
I enjoyed seeing these two find their way. There is a lot going on in this book with a wedding and a trip and more but it just adds to the enjoyment. These two were meant to be and there is no stopping love. This is a fun and engaging book with great characters. It pulled me in right form the start and moves along at a good pace keeping my attention all the way to the end. I am eager to see what will happen next in this new series.

What happens when you mix a bright, sassy assistant with a gruff, growly boss? You get a humorous tale with smart, snarky dialogue and wonderful side characters you feel almost as invested in as you do with the MC’s. This is fast-paced, witty story with the sharp, quick-witted back and forth between Sydney and Grady keeping you entertained from start to finish. They have such wonderful chemistry and, oh boy, such hot, steamy passion. It’ll curl your toes! All the characters are so well-drawn, and the storyline is so appealing you’ll hate to see it end. I can’t wait to read whose story comes next!

This is a new series from the author and it stars characters introduced in the previous Camos and Cupcakes series. It means that some of them are seen in this story and world which is kinda cool. This was a well writtend romance at work vbetween a boss and his assistant. He is a pretty cool boss but worries about starting a romance with his employee.

Grady is the CEO and his assistant is Syd and she is not just an employee but also a family friend. He has several brothers and they all know and like Syd a lot. But the two work very closely together while he runs a cable type of tv station and produce original programming. The story takes place in Texas and in a small town of Juniper which is where Syd is from.

This story is very much poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks, Syd vs Grady, who was born rich and had a great family life. They each really like the other but fear what a romance at work will do to their business relationship. It was told wonderfully and I really fell hard for all the characters introduced in this new series.

God, I love Melissa Schroeder’s writing! Both Grady and Syd are excellently written, flawed characters that we meet in this spinoff of the Cupcakes and Camos world. Like all her books, the surrounding cast of characters we meet, re-meet and get to know better are all as well written and give readers something to look forward to when they get their own stories in their own books! The witty banter, humor, angst, sexy times and all the best feels are what I can count on when I read one of Melissa Schroeder’s books and in this one, she definitely delivers. LOVED IT! Highly recommend.

Ms. Fillmore and Mr. Hawthorne 5 stars – Grady thought that calling Sydney by her last name will keep their relationship professional. Hah! Eventually, “Ms. Fillmore” sounds as dirty as Sydney calling him “Mr. Hawthorne”. This is a great story with a slow-burn romance. When they finally ignored their self-mandated rules and crossed the sexy line, well, it got really steamy. The dialogue is crisp, funny and entertaining. Sydney’s inner dialogue is humorous. It was fun reading this book. I do love this author’s writing. Totally worth your time! [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]

Hate To Love You is the first book in Melissa’s new series. You are going to love this book it has romance and comedy all wrapped together! We meet Grady Hawthorne anal CEO of Hawthorne Enterprises and his administrative assistant Syd Fillmore. Syd is super organized and perfect for the uptight CEO who has recently taken over the position since his dad retired. Grady and Syd have an interesting relationship to say the least they may be employee and boss and appear to aggravate each other but from the start you can see that there is a chemistry between them. We also meet Syd’s brother Travis who appears on a home improvement show flipping homes with his costar Nancy who is Syd’s best friend, she is an interior designer and oh did I mention she’s had a crush on Travis and he is being an idiot and not only will he use a show cohost but a special friend! Grady’s brothers, Carter and Gavin play a role in the running of the business,and Quinn another brother is a graphics artist and writer. If you’ve been reading the Camos and Cupcakes series you will find several of the folks in this book! Throw in a bachelor party, wedding, a work trip, severe migraines, falling hard ford boss and lots of other twists and you get a book that’s hard to put down! You also get to watch two people show each other their softer caring side.

Hate to Love You by Melissa Schroeder is a sweet, sexy and laugh out loud funny spin-off from the Camos and Cupcake series. Grady Hawthorne is gorgeous and driven. Sydney Fillmore is smart and sassy. When these two are in the same room you can feel the chemistry. This book had me laughing and sighing and breaking out the ice water. Highly recommend.
