Chrissy Benson gave up her dream of leaving her small town behind a long time ago. She’s a single mother stuck in her hometown. When an opportunity takes her and her daughter to Los Angeles, she begins seeing a future outside of her small town. Max Hamilton is one of the hottest movie stars around. He can have any woman he wants with the snap of his fingers. So, when he meets Chrissy, he expects … he expects her to fall to her knees at his greatness. When Chrissy wants nothing to do with him, he is thrown off his game. Nothing will stop the arrogant playboy from chasing her with a single-minded focus. He’s determined to show Chrissy his womanizing ways are in the past and she is the only one he wants in his life.
Chrissy let one man change her life. She won’t let Max do it, too. What she doesn’t plan on is to see him as more than just an arrogant playboy. The sparks between them ignite into an inferno that burns hotter with each moment they are together.
When a scandal linked to her past threatens her future, Chrissy must make a decision. Fight for a happily ever after or bury that dream once and for all.

I loved everything about this book. Page one starts you off with a scorching hot scene and only gets better from there. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline is not a cookie cutter romance it offers much more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I LOVED this. I had several lough out loud moments. Loved Chrissy and I cannot wait to see who falls next. Good read and romance. Ready for the next one.
What a delicious mix of sexy movie star falls for the beautiful single mom, cut throat movie execs, scheming assistants, jealous ex’s! Chrissy wants more for herself and her daughter, but feels obligated to help her parents. Cue Max, the super sexy and cocky movie star who knows her best friend. Chrissy can’t get Max out of her mind, especially when he keeps texting her. Things get real, and complicated when she follow her dream out to LA. I love the snark, humor, drama and passion. It’s a great story!!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author, and I am posting my honest personal review. Jackie Paxson is fast becoming one of my go to authors for comedy and romance! This is the second in the series, and it definitely stands strong. This follows the unlikely romance between Chrissy, a single mother from extremely small town America, and one of Hollywood’s leading bad boys Max. Jackie introduced us to these wonderful characters in Tabloid: Dirty Laundry Book 1, but she does such a great job with the characters in this book, you can actually read it as a stand alone. Although, Tabloid was such a great book, with such fun characters, I highly recommend you read it first. Chrissy, a beautiful single Mom from a very small town us convinced by her friends to move with her daughter Mariah to L.A. for a new start, and to finish her engineering degree, that she started before beginning pregnant with Mariah. Max, sexy, Hollywood bad boy, who can have any women dropping at his feet, can’t understand why Chrissy won’t just say yes, and is determined to pursue and win her, now that Chrissy has moved to his town. Chrissy has lost in love before, and is just as determined that she won’t fall for Max’s bad boy ways. There is a fantastic supporting cast of entertaining characters, some of who the reader was introduced to in Tabloid, but many strong characters that are new for the reader. Everyone should have a set of honest, hilarious and awesomely supportive as Jeramiah and Talia. I know I would count myself lucky if I did. I truly love reading Jackie Paxson’s books not only for the wonderful romance, but the laugh out loud funny situations that her characters get into on the way to their HEA.
We dive right into the story with a steamy, stolen moment between Hollywood’s favorite bad boy actor, Max and beautiful, single mom, Chrissy. Max is used to getting what he wants – and he wants Chrissy. But relationship shy Chrissy has learned from past experiences what happens when you fall for an actor and now she only sees the outer surface of this hard partying bad boy. Can Max convince her there’s a good guy underneath his bad boy charm?
You’ll fall hard for Max with how he is with Chrissy’s sweet daughter. Swoon worthy for sure! If you need a book that cracks you, makes you want to slap the hero upside the head Gibbs’ style to knock some sense into him in the beginning and love a happily ever after ending that leaves a smile on your face long after the book is finished – one click this book today!
P.S. Grab a glass of wine & a few tissues before sitting down with bad boy Max! I laughed so much, smiled a ton and got a little emotional at the end for Chrissy. Great read!
Special thanks to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes, Jackie Paxson is fast becoming one of my favorite romantic comedy authors!
Misunderstandings and Underhanded Colleagues – While book 2 is tamer in many of the dramatics categories than the first one, the chemistry between Chrissy and Max is wild and barely tamed. Things aren’t black and white or easy for them but with a little help from their friends and family, they can figure it out. The cast of characters is fun and refreshing, including but not limited to: Mariah, Dash the sloth, Mr. Sutter, and Granny Isla. Reading Tabloid may not be required to enjoy this but I would recommend it as some of that storyline carries over. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I went through several emotions with the great storyline and characters that were so well detailed that as I turned each and every page I felt like the characters pulled me right into their storyline as it unfolded!
First book that I have read from this author. I enjoyed it. Good characters and a good storyline. Max and Chrissy were really good together. I will be reading more of this author.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The author has given us characters that we can understand and care about. This story has humor, sadness, hopefulness and, of course, love.
This story was fantastic! I loved it so much! Chrissy and Max were great together! Chrissy was a little reluctant to start a relationship with Max but he was going to show her how much she means to him. Some misunderstandings and and meddling colleagues lead to some trouble for the couple. Everything is not black and white for them but their attraction and chemistry was amazing! Scandal was a very entertaining story that will have you laughing and crying. I loved Scandal and the Dirty Laundry series! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
What a story, it was absolutely amazing! From the first page until the last, I loved every page. It’s a compelling story that’s highly entertaining, funny, emotional, and perfectly romantic. I highly recommend you give it a read you won’t be disappointed!
Scandal is a fantastic read. If you love single mom romances with brooding actors and laughs along the way, then you will just adore Scandal. I loved this one so much. You get why Chrissy is a little gun shy when it comes to a relationship with Max. But Max will just make you swoon with how he is with Chrissy’s daughter. Seriously if that doesn’t do it for you then I don’t know what will. I giggled a lot and even got emotional for Chrissy by the end of this one. This is the second book of the Dirty Laundry series and it is just as good as the first book Tabloid. If you haven’t read anything by Jackie Paxson yet you need to. She is fast becoming a go to author for me.
