The world was supposed to end on April 23, but Rainbow Williams’s world ended days before that. The mass hysteria caused by the impending apocalypse claimed everything she’d ever loved. Her family. Her city. Her will to live.Until she met him.Wes Parker didn’t have anything left for the apocalypse to take … he’d already lost it all by the time he was nine years old. His family. His home. His hope … His family. His home. His hope of ever being loved.
Until he met her.
Brought together by fate and bound by a love that would last lifetimes, Rain and Wes were prepared to die together on April 23.
They were not prepared for what would happen on April 24.

I knew going in that the crazy was going to be kicked up a few notches, considering they were still standing at the end of Praying for Rain, but lemme tell you…there were things that happened here that even had me going WTF?!?
Let’s start off with Rain and Wes. These two. They put me, and themselves through the wringer in this one. Some things I expected, others not so much…the others had me growling in frustration, but I also understood the why behind them, even if I didn’t agree. I do have to say that I really liked Rain in this one, not that I don’t have love for Wes, I do, but Something flipped in her and she found this…inner strength that I don’t think she knew she had, even as she spiraled.
As for finding out what the deal with April 23rd, the Horsemen and all that crazyness? Let’s just say what we do find out is mind blowing and yet makes sense in a very, very scary way.
This was an interesting read. So much goes on, but there is so much more to come, especially with that little cliffy and I definitely can’t wait to see how everything plays out for Rain, Wes and the world.

Book 2 in the Rain trilogy picks up where book 1 left off, in the aftermath of the event that was supposed to happen on April 23rd. In book 1, I really loved Rain, she had me laughing out loud because she was just so funny despite the fact she gave off some PTSD signs. Wes came along at a great time for her. In Fighting for Rain, their roles are a bit reversed as Rain has taken on the role of strong and assertive, and it’s Wes who is rebuilding the walls she slowly broke down. Rain is becoming a protector to survivors and it’s nice to see her draw on her strength.
If the situation wasn’t strained enough, then it’s going to get a whole lot worse in the wake of revelations that have come to play in this one. Easton has left us demanding more because of where we left off in this book. So book 3 needs to come soon or we will take to the streets and riot like the survivors (or probably not, because we’re readers, and we aren’t the rioting kind and because book 3 is coming January 30th). Nicely done.
Wow. Just wow. I didn’t know I liked books like this. Hold up, I actually DIDN’T like books like this until Bb Easton started writing them. I really didn’t even know what apocalyptic romance was, but then Praying for Rain came along and it blew my mind. I needed the next book, like yesterday. Then, the next book finally came and I need the final book NOW!
Rain is so strong even if she thinks she is irrevocably broken. Wes still has his trust issues, but you can really see in this book that he wants to believe that Rain will be with him forever. This girl is a giver, down to her soul. She helps everyone but herself. I want her to find her voice and destroy everyone who treated her like garbage in the next book. She will have no choice but to rise up and FIGHT! The introduction of other characters (old and new) was an awesome addition. It kept the story fresh and gave it some extra drama. There was times I was angry and at times I yelled at my Kindle while reading. This book deserves all the stars, I would give it more than 5 if I could. BB, this is GOLD!
Wow. Just wow! Fighting For Rain is book 2 is this series and BB Easton blew me away! This book takes place starting April 24th and tells the story of how to continue on. I love Wes and Rain and they were sure put thru it in this story. Can’t wait for book 3!
A must read, after reading Dying for Rain. I absolutely loved the first book, but BB Easton definitely brought it with Fighting for Rain! I was so sucked into this book and just couldn’t put it down. I liked that there were some answered questions from the first book, but this one brought so many more! The ending will blow your mind!

Twisty goodness….
You would think the end of the world would be simple, but nothing could be further from the truth in this action-filled, emotion-packed, thrill ride!
Wes and Rain stumbled upon each other during some of the worst moments of their lives. Bound through necessity, their new-found relationship would be tested over and over as the world descended into chaos. And survival was not a given…
This is the second read in the trilogy and it was even more intense than the first. And that’s saying something! There were new faces in their small circle and a few familiar as they put one foot after another, just trying to survive. They not only have to ensure their physical safety but navigating the psychological fallout may be even tougher. Friendliness, even civility, were long gone, so their new-found footing may not be as solid as they hoped…
It is like Survivor met The Walking Dead (but no zombies) crossed with a heaping spoonful of Mad Max. In other words, totally unique with twists and turns that had Wes and Rain jumping (and my stomach along with it)…
I knew there would be no storybook ending here but that cliffhanger? Yeah, this one had me growling…. I need the last book – STAT!

The beautiful continuation is finally here!! It tore me up and was everything I could ever hope for! What would you do if the end of the world was coming?! Supplies, shelter, self-defense. I’ll always remember that and when the end of the world comes I now know what to do! The world building that BB gave us makes me feel in that world! Hard core loyal fan here! Thank you BB Easton!
Forever Really Exists
An incredible, angst-filled, edge-of-your-seat, post-apocalyptic love story that will leave you stunned!
What has the author done to me? That ending left me with my heart on the floor. What do I do now while I wait for the conclusion?
Wes is Rain’s protector. There is nothing he won’t do to save her. He is her hero, her savior, her everything. Rain is his missing piece.
The love that Rain and Wes share transcends time and circumstance. They met at their lowest, but together they still find moments of happiness.
Love was not something that was part of Wes’ life and he’s not quite sure how to handle it. When he gets overwhelmed, he runs. However, he can’t outrun his love for Rain. They are stronger together.
While they both fight to survive, their bond flourishes and grows. The hard times just solidify their bond even more. They will make some new friends and create a few enemies on their journey. They will face new battles and emotional obstacles. Surviving is a constant struggle.
The mystery of the horsemen will be revealed and you won’t believe who is behind it. Their purpose is barbaric and disturbing. I was riveted! This story consumed me until the very last page and left me needing the conclusion!!!
This is a love story about survival when there seems to be nothing left to live for. Wes and Rain live for one another. Their passion for each other is intense. You will feel their love in every fiber of your being. I was consumed by their love and devotion. Their love is forever. Now I want book three!!!

“I knew from the moment I first laid eyes on Rainbow Williams that I would end up dying for her.”
Wow!!! This story keeps getting better and better…
I loved how the events turned out and literally, i’m itching to get my hands on the last book…
Especially after THAT ending!!!
An ending that left me with my mouth wind open on surprise, my heart broken in the possibility of what will happen and with a big WHY??? repeating on my mind!!!!
Phew!!! That ending stressed me out so damn much and i don’t know what to think after everything that had taken place in the last chapter and through out the book!!!
“The impending apocalypse made people do crazy thing.
Some burnt entire cities to the ground…
And me? I let myself believe the desperate ramplings of a lost, lovesick teenanger.
But the fours horsemen never came for us.
Reality did…”
Well, Rain and Wes survived April 23 and now, we are on April 24…
They’re still trying to survive and to fight this storm together…
But the things very soon will become very complicated in many aspects…
Someone is tumbling back in Rain’s life and it’s making it really hard for Wes to stay unaffected.
The nightmares are still there but they had taken a different turn…
More people are appearing, new people, but what are their intentions???
And the apocalypse had come in a different form… A more chaotic and unpredictable form…
What will happen after all when everything are falling apart???
“He looks like the man who refused to let me go when everybody else had left me behind.
But he did let me go. He must have.
Because this guy sure as hell ain’t him.”
“Leave before you get left has never fucking hurt like this.”
“Love doesn’t exist in my world.”
Well, Wes is still my favorite guy in the world…
He is so strong, so determined, so capable to survive, so protective of the one he cares about…
But in here, we saw that he can have also insecurities and that he can take the easy way out, even though he might rip his heart out…
As for Rain??? I think that the day after, stressed her even more than before… Because then, there was an expiration date, so she could keep her problems on arm’s length and now, they are suffocating her and she is acting a little bit crazy…
“I might have survived April 23, but not all of me made out alive. Rainbow Williams… is buried back there too…
All that’s left of me now is Rain.
Whoever the hell that is.”
“I laugh and cry and look into the eyes of the a man who destroys beautiful things….but who also makes destroyed things beautiful again.”
Wes and Rain are made for each other, even though they know each other for a few days…
Yep, the time is sooo short to develop those kind of feelings, but in their world, it seems like it is possible… Cause they are running out of time!!!
Honestly, i just want something good for those two, cause all the time ugly things are tumbling down on them and now… after that ending… I’m afraid that i have no much hope!!!
“This woman found me broken and made me whole, and I’m suddenly determined to do the same for her.”
What a fantastic follow up to Praying for Rain this is!! The themes of a society in turmoil and humans stripped down to the basics in terms of behaviour and survival, are all around Rain and Wes. That combination of heart, kindness, fear, courage, wariness and shock, resonate throughout the book and with the dual POV the narrative rounds out even further to give an amazing reading experience.
I love Rain and Wes so much. BB has created two such beautiful, interesting characters, that are so different from, and so right for, each other that they now have a very firm place in my heart.
Top class writing, tenderness, character growth and shocks galore make this a brilliant, not to be missed, page turner. What will happen next????
I don’t have the words to form a proper review. But omg this book is EVERYTHING! Fighting for Rain starts off where Praying for Rain ended. So much happens. So many messed up things. Lordy. But the one thing that doesn’t change is the love Rain and Wes have.
That ending I need book 3 like now! Thank all that is holy we don’t have to wait long for Dying for Rain! BB Easton has reminded me what an amazing author she is! Bravo , BB, Bravo
Be still my freaking beating heart! B.B. Easton gave me the most terrifying yet satisfying story of my life in Fighting For Rain. This dystopian romance has flooded my inside with adrenaline rush like never before. The ugliness of humanity and brutality of survival fights paired with an almost impossible love story here. And I have no words for these angsty, heart wrecking, jaw dropping, nail biting, messed up and frightening emotions!
Fighting for Rain is the second book of the trilogy and you must read the first book. Wes and Rain has survived the supposed apocalypse but that is not exactly good news. They are going to face a hostile and vicious world running on chaos, mayhem and terror. Stress, trauma and desperation twist even most stable person. And this is the torture of highest quality and gravest consequence. The world has become a lawless place where ruthless queens like Q and heartless Bonys rule over other less fortunate and scared and helpless people. Wes never intended to stay but he cannot leave Rain after their lives turned upside down. Rain is struggling with her pain, guilt, fear and post traumatic issues. And Wes is the only person who anchors her and makes her happy. But a bigger and most shocking conspiracy is going on. And it will come out soon to destroy them once again. And they may not survive this time.
B.B. Easton brilliantly brought all the dark, twisted and gritty details of the struggle for survival to life. The everyday fight for basic human needs. The physical and psychological blood bath. The distortion of morals and human values under desperation, loss and need to stay alive. Every single thing. And I fall in love with their sweat stained and tear washed love. All over again. Wes is a pure light with his broken heart and golden soul. He is troubled by his own past and torn between need to protect himself and protect Rain. And my heart was broken into tiny pieces and stomped on repeatedly by Rain’s pain. She has lost so much and she will lose more. Their love is perfectly flawed and violent yet carries the beauty and peace of an ocean. The story line will keep on hitting you with shocking secrets and diversions in each chapter. But I will probably never forgive the author for that last 3 chapters. I am beyond shocked. I am enraged, yelling in frustration for answers and NEED THE NEXT STORY LIKE AIR. This story has a whole crew of impeccably detailed secondary characters who will evoke a surprising range of emotions in you.
B.B. Easton transported me to an entirely different dimension in Fighting For Rain which felt more real than anything. Wes and Rain have burrowed deep inside my head and heart. This gut-wrenching, soul deep and intense love story set in a bleak and chaotic post-apocalyptic world is pure perfection.
Received ARC for Honest review
I feel like every time I write a review for this author I say “She did it again!” But let me tell you….BB Easton DID. IT. AGAIN!!! She took this dystopian romantic suspense story to the NEXT LEVEL!!
In Fighting for Rain, Book 2 in the Rain Trilogy, we find out what happens to Rain, Wes, and humanity after April 23rd, the day of the “apocalypse”. Turns out, what happens next is an absolutely epic journey that takes Rain and Wes to the brink!
This book is darker than Praying for Rain. BB yields her magic as a storyteller to guide us through the days proceeding April 23rd. What our world might look like when humanity realizes that the world is not ending. And, how kindness, morals, and all out human decency is no longer relevant.
Wes Parker is still the ultimate survivor. He is strong and resilient, but still so very damaged. We see him start to realize that “supplies, shelter, and self-defense” are not the only things he needs to survive in this world. We see his internal walls come down, go back up, and come down again. We see the broken boy underneath the man finally begin to heal, to love, and to feel wanted.
Rain Williams has endured such tremendous trauma. With everything she holds dear gone from the world, we see her continue to break and struggle to accept her new reality. But, throughout this story we also start to see her grow. And, with Wes by her side, accepting her for who she is, pulling her out of her darkness, she learns she can survive anything.
This was an emotionally gritty, raw, and beautifully intense story. Rain and Wes’ struggle to be together and survive a “post-apocalyptic” world was at times hard to read, but necessary. We see both these individuals grow and open up. We see a love develop that is so powerful it has the ability to heal.
Fighting for Rain is a book that elicited all types of emotions from me. That is the power of this unique story, these two beautifully damaged characters, and BB’s brilliant talent as a writer.
Once again, the end of a book from this trilogy has left my mind- blown, my soul reeling, and my body full of adrenaline. The release of Dying for Rain, Book 3, cannot come quick enough!
There is not a rating system out there worthy enough for this book. Congratulations BB on this magnificent continuation to Rain and Wes’ story.
I was one of the lucky ones to have landed an ARC of this from BB – maybe my promise of getting a tattoo to promote her amazing books until I’m old and saggy helped…but I will never know and I get to get a new tat – all I do know is that I am so happy I am one of the lucky ones and it’s definitely a win-win situation.
Fighting for Rain is a continuation from Praying for Rain – the conclusion, Dying for Rain, is scheduled to come out later on this month. In this second book, we follow Wes and Rain as they encounter new obstacles while fighting their own demons and fears after waking up the day after the world was supposed to end, when in reality a new world has been created overnight and it’s one that is definitely not for the faint of heart or the weak. Will they survive in this new world where the government has created a new level of f*cked up on terms of natural selection? Will their love survive thru their own hang ups? ***This is a part of a series that needs to be read in order to get the full impact. If you don’t like cliffhangers, the conclusion is scheduled to be released at the end of this month. Either way, I highly recommend that you snatch up this book like it’s the last piece of your favorite chocolate and devour it like you aren’t going to be around tomorrow***
BB is not just a writer, she is an artist that creates masterpieces with words on pages and with this series she proves what I claim. She has created a world with a storyline and characters that are going to stick with you long after you finish and just when I think she couldn’t write anything better, she proves me wrong with this book. This story has everything – heart pounding, jaw clenching moments that will have you repeating “No, no, no” as a mantra like your life depends on it, cheering at the next chapter like your favorite team just won the Stanley Cup and melting into a heap of goo at the next one. Fighting for Rain is definitely my favorite read of the year – hands down – and I can’t wait for the conclusion.
Fighting For Rain was an exhilarating and addictive read. Time stopped, pages blurred, my heart raced. It was a ride I didn’t want to get off of.
Praying For Rain ended in a cliffhanger that had us at the edge of our seats. Fighting For Rain focuses on how they have to learn to survive after April 23rd. The dooms day came and went yet they are all still here and have to deal with the fall out of people’s actions. Rain has to confront her past and deal with her memories. Wes is her strength and the only good thing she has left. But Wes isn’t as optimistic as Rain. He is a realist, a survivalist and his instincts are screaming at him to do something he doesn’t want to do. But Rain is the one thing in the world that means something to him.
I am addicted to this series. I hurt so much for Rain. What she had to go through in this book… completely heartbreaking! Wes is such a different person from the first time we met him. He shows Rain how much she means to him and he would do absolutely anything to protect her and keep her safe. Which brings us to another cliffhanger! If we thought the previous cliffhanger was bad, well damn, Fighting For Rain punched me in the heart! Gah! I’m so desperate for the next book! At least the wait for the next book isn’t long.
****May contain some spoilers*****
BB fucking Easton is amazeballs! You have done it again girl! Fighting for Rain is a heartwrenching apocalypse love story. Rainf and Wes are trying to leave town after the April 23rd end of the world apocalypse didn’t happen. But, as they are leaving there is an accident that makes them take shelter in a rundowned mall. They find people from Rain’s past inside. This is where Wes and Rain are going to have to fight for each other! Loved, loved loved it!!!!!!!!! But that ending got me like….where is book 3? 🙂
*** I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. ***
5 stars
I honestly have no words. This is a sprinkling of everything I love. First of all it is a completely new and innovative story line that keeps me captivated. Then it’s young adult, it’s angsty, it will keep you on your toes, there’s a love triangle-ish going on. All in all, it is a do NOT miss story. You do have to read the first book in the series, Praying for Rain, first. But don’t worry that book will suck you from the very first page.
This second book has so been worth the wait. I simply cannot wait to see how the amazing BB Easton will wrap this up. Run this series to the very top of your TBR list!
Christ on a cracker! All the stars!
Noooooooooooooooo!
That is what I yelled when I finished this book. I know that book three is not far behind, but this series is gonna ruin my world one bullet at a time. Rain and Wes’ story picks up and takes off with a bang right out the gate. This part of the book puts emphasis on f em’ and survive and that’s for damn sure what these two do.
They cling to one another and the way BB has crafted their relationship shows the depth of their love for one another. There are some harsh truths and tough choices placed in front of them. The level of angst and emotions this tale wrings out of you is destructive and beyond powerful. Realizations beyond anyone’s wildest dreams come to light and the downfall of civilization is more imminent than before.
BB showcases her talent in the progress the pair makes, both emotional and mentally despite all the challenges. Then that ending, Lord have mercy…didn’t see it coming and I am flabbergasted at the turn of events.
Truly a master with her words, witty and clever, romantic and sweet, damning and redeeming…this installment will knock your socks off.
Mind blown!
