A Sun So Bright is my new favourite book in the Reigning Hearts Series by the very talented K.G Fletcher. I know I always say this, but I really do love all Ms. Fletcher’s books, so I was really happy to find this had arrived on my Kindle- and I put everything else aside to read it.
This is a wonderful billionaire romance, with a twist. Because, in this story it’s the leading lady who is the billionaire, and her leading man is a hardworking guy from the suburbs, who is struggling to get by. Fiona has been very unlucky in love- the men in her social circle are either already in committed relationships, or too daunted by her incredible wealth to even approach her- while others are blatant Golddiggers. She’s tired of being alone, seeing her friends so happy in their relationships, and being the only single at any functions they attend. After a disastrous New Year’s Eve function, Fiona finds herself in an upscale bar just before the stroke of midnight. There she meets hunky barman Chris who immediately captures her attention. The many glasses of Champagne she’s imbibed make her bold enough to give him a New Year’s kiss when the clock strikes midnight. A kiss that has her mind swirling with possibilities. Chris could definitely be the answer to her social dilemma. And so, a ‘business’ deal is struck. I won’t go into any more detail, as I really don’t want to give too much away. Suffice to say that this book is worth the read to discover where this arrangement leads- and if these two can keep things strictly business. Or will they blur the lines of their arrangement? Afterall, their chemistry is intense, and Chris loves the challenge Fiona presents. He’s determined to strip away all the haughtiness and her icy demeanour, and uncover the real woman beneath the façade. While Fiona loves that Chris isn’t just sexy as sin- he’s attentive, caring, interesting, and makes her feel centred, calm, and happy. But coming from such vastly different backgrounds, and with such different lives- things aren’t going to be quite so easy. Add in a little danger and drama- and this story really wouldn’t let me put it down- reading it all in one sitting.
I really loved this story- and way more than I thought I would, especially since I really wasn’t sure I could come to like Fiona. She came across as a rich B*tch- a judgemental and materialistic snob who only cared about herself and her ‘image’. But as the story unfolded, I got to see that she was really hiding behind her money- using it to sooth away her unhappiness and loneliness. But it really wasn’t working. On the surface she appeared to have everything anyone could ever want or need- a life of luxury, an enviable lifestyle, lots of friends, a beautiful home, and everything available at her beck and call. But in reality, she was so very lost and alone. Only partway into the book I started really loving her. Now, Chris on the other hand was quite a swoon-worthy creation by Ms. Fletcher; completely charming, sweet, caring, kind, attentive, endearing- and OH SO SEXY!!! They really are perfect for each other- two different worlds colliding, and the sparks fly.
The story is completely captivating- romantic, touching, engaging, and memorable. Definitely my favourite of the series so far!!! I really can’t wait to see what she does next!!!
Thank you, Ms. Fletcher!
If you are addicted to Hallmark Channel like I am…this is a read for you! I read this as a stand alone and I had no problems following the story line, but I would suggest reading the whole series as it was wrote. It is for sure refreshing to see a romance novel wrote with a woman with money in charge and not the male. This story will keep your interest peaked as you will not want to put it down. I’m not huge on talking about characters in a review because I feel like it takes away from just reading the story. I will say however, I struggled with Fiona but not enough to put the story down. Read the book than say Thank You!

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book Three) by KG Fletcher
A Sun So Bright is the third book in Reigning Hearts Series by KG Fletcher. I must admit I wasn’t impressed with Fiona’s snotty attitude but the more I read the more I actually started to like her.i even felt bad for her. There were moments I was shaking my head and others I literally at tears in my eyes. My emotions were all over the place. Chris oh Chris I’m pretty sure I fell in love with him instantly. He’s just simply a genuinely good guy. He see the good in people and the bad. These two had an attraction towards one another and they had great chemistry as well. I literally devoured this book and by the end I was sad that I was done. I don’t want to give to much away. But just remember” don’t judge a book by its cover”. People are sometimes like books and sometimes we are to quick to judge. Can Chris and Fiona have a future together? I’m going to recommend reading the first two books in this series just because it’s a wonderfully written series. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. And you might want to a Kleenex handy you never know you might need it. I simply can’t wait to read more from this amazing Author.
This is book 3 in this series, and while stated its a standalone, if you haven’t read the first 2 i highly recommend. Not only will this book pack a harder punch than it does, it gives some different perspective on into how and who Fiona is before this book.
I went into this book dreading reading about Fiona, she just didn’t sit well with me in the previous stories but I knew if she was getting her own book, we would learn much more into what makes her, her.
I will not be giving anything away about this story but it had it all. Laughs and chuckles, tears oh the tears, and so much love.
This book took me by surprise and I now love Fiona to death. And am so happy I found this series.
You. Guys. A Sun So Bright was the best finish to a trilogy that I have enjoyed reading since Run to the Sea.
I was familiar with Fiona because of book 1 in the Reigning Hearts series and I must admit, I was wondering how I’d feel about her. I was not a Fiona fan at all. She was spoiled and mean. I won’t give any details for those that haven’t read Run to the Sea (which begs the question, why not??), but suffice it to say, Fiona was not likable.
HOWEVER, as KG is a master at, she made me fall in love with this complicated woman. Her arc in this story was incredible. She went from being a drunk, spoiled, rich party girl to a woman who found her purpose and fell in love with more than just Chris, but also herself. And Chris…this man. Such a giving, loving spirit. He was exactly what Fiona needed. Someone that would call her out on her crap but also loved her just as she was, even if who she was needed some work to be a better human. The fact he was handsome, not afraid to work for what he wanted, and a family man just added more to his appeal.
And the last part of this book? Well, let’s just say my Kindle was warm from flipping the pages so quickly. I’ve read several of KG’s books and this is by far her best yet. I can’t wait to see more. Um, maybe Nicky’s story, please? Because that girl’s got one that’s for sure.
So well done. KG has reigned my reader’s heart, that’s for sure.
5 bright and shiny stars for A Sun So Bright!
This was my first read by K.G. Fletcher and I enjoyed her writing. I’m eager to read the first two books in this series.
I’ll be honest – at the start of this book, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this love story. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes so I still had hope! But Fiona was such an unlikable character at the start. She was very pretentious and seemed to look down on everyone around her. Some of the things she said had me rolling my eyes. She’s a billionaire heiress who could have anything she could ever dream of, except someone by her side. She hires Chris to be her fake boyfriend to accompany her to all the events she has to attend.
Chris was hands down my favorite part of this book. He was such a lovable character from the start and anyone would be lucky to have him just as he is. I was very thankful for Fiona’s character development throughout the story. Once Fiona started to let her guard down and realized there is more to life than her socialite status, I was able to get more invested in the story and I was literally smiling so hard at the end.
It really was such a sweet story!
A Sun So Bright is the third book of the Reigning Hearts series from KG Fletcher. These books can be read completely as a standalones or together in a series. I have to say I struggled with this one but only for a bit. The main female lead, Fiona, is not one that I wanted to like. Darn it all to hades though by the end Fletcher had me feeling all the feels and completely hooked on her as a person. She really grew into a woman I completely never thought possible in those early chapters. I am so glad I stuck with it and was able to see how this sweet little love story played out. I am excited to see what the next book in the series will bring. I am sure it will be its own sweet soul female lead with a completely new spin just like this one and the books before it.
A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book Three) by KG Fletcher
5 +++++++++
Oh my Lord!!! This author! I just can’t …I have wondered since book 1 how this author would handle this character. I was scared because Fiona is complicated to say the least, and didn’t leave me with much love for her after reading Run to the Sea.
It didn’t take me long to feel sincerely sorry for this poor little rich girl who had been handed everything she ever wanted her whole life, her sole purpose was keeping up that persona especially around her friends, friends that had found their significant others while she was always party of one. When she concocts a plan to hire a companion you just know that this is not going to end well, especially when the one she hires is her complete opposite.
I’ve loved the first two books in this series, I mean really loved which is why I can’t stress enough that you read them all, but this one, completely blew me away! The whole book builds up to the most amazing last 25% of a book I’ve ever read! I mean..take your breath away kind of build up. So emotional and simply perfect!
I don’t see any news of another book and I was so hoping that Nicky would get her own and we could learn even more about Cold Creek…I could visualize it all and I want the library in Stone Farm. Please please give us more, don’t let it end here 🙁
Incredible story!!
A Sun So Bright is the third book in the Reigning Hearts series by K.G. Fletcher. Fiona Merrill is a New York City socialite who has never wanted for anything until a New Year’s Eve kiss had her wanting companionship. Chris Ballard just so happened to be the nice guy who gave Fiona that kiss. But can Chris take the “City” out of this City-Girl?
This sweet fake relationship turned blurbed lines into a romance that I couldn’t put down. K’s writing always seems to have every one of my emotions on high alert. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for me next. Highly recommend this author and any one of her series.
A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book Three) by KG Fletcher was a nice romantic read. Every once in a while I find a romantic read that takes me out of reality. I did not care for Fiona at first, I found her unrelatable but as the story developed she was more real to me. I love a good fake fiance story and I was hooked into this one. The pacing was good, in my romance reads I do enjoy a more relaxed pace.
This book was given to me as an ARC.
4.5 Fiona is an heiress with the world at her feet and Chris is a struggling bartender with hopes of remodeling his farmhouse. One fortuitous night they collided and share a kiss on New Years Eve that leas to a proposition to pose as a fake couple. Chris will gain monetary reward, and Fiona will have a companion to social events. Their relationship is meant to stay platonic; however, will it all become real? Chris is sweet and caring; he definitely brought the best quality in Fiona and little by little defrost her face façade, and her true felt flourished. Their journey has its ups and downs, but is sweet and enjoyable to say the least.
A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book Three) by KG Fletcher. This is the 3rd book in this series and its sooo good! Its the story of Fiona Merrill a New York Socialite who has everything she can imagine except for love. When she realizes money can buy that too she pays Chris Ballard who is trying to save his money to renovate his falling down farmhouse to be her “companion”. Normally Chris would never do anything like this but he’s desperate for the money so he accepts. Chris is normally not the socialite type he had much rather be at home working on his house that at fancy parties but this money will help him so much. Once they start spending time together Chris and Fiona begin to care about each other and Chris wants to try to make it work. Will Fiona open her heart to Chris or will she be too scared to try. This is a sweet contemporary romance that is so good! Once you start you won’t want to put it down.
Oh my gosh this was so good. It’s full of that feel-good, Happily-ever-after serendipity kind of romance that I absolutely love! A sun so bright is a quick read but is full of details. I loved every character and was sad when the story ended. Solid work. 4 stars.
A Sun So Bright, (Reigning Hearts Book 3) By K.G.Fletcher
4 of 5 Stars
A Sun So Bright by K.G.Fletcher is book 3 in her Reigning Hearts series but can be read as a stand-alone story. When socialite and heiress Fiona Merrill finds herself alone without a date on New Year’s Eve she decides to takes matters into her own hands. Set in New York, Fiona propositions Chris Ballard a bartender who is living with his mother whilst saving money to finish renovating his crumbling farmhouse. Being offered a large sum of money and being able to make some ‘quick cash’ Chris accepts Fiona’s offer. However although the pair find posing as the next Manhattan power couple easy, their relationship becomes blurred when Chris dares Fiona to explore life outside of her normal ‘pampered life style’. “Is it possible for the heiress to change her ways and discover a bigger purpose”?
I loved this book and enjoyed how the relationship between Chris and Fiona developed the longer they spent together in their fake relationship. It wasn’t predictable as some romances can be and the storyline had me turning the pages well into the night. I am now keen to read the other books in Fletcher’s Reigning Hearts series.
Fletcher has a way with words that pulls at your heart strings. You connect with the characters almost immediately and become so invested in the storyline. This third book in the series was one I didn’t know I needed, about a character introduced in the first book I didn’t even think I would want to learn much more about. But boy am I glad we had this storyline to follow. I cannot say how much I enjoyed it because my heart is still processing it. But hands down this author is a one-click for me. I will read anything she writes. And this is a wonderful addition to my library. Thank you so much!!
