From the New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed comes a novel that shows how someone with a ‘perfect life’ can lose it all–and then find everything.Darcy Rhone thought she had it all figured out: the more beautiful the girl, the more charmed her life. Never mind substance. Never mind playing by the rules. Never mind karma. But Darcy’s neat, perfect world turns upside down when … world turns upside down when her best friend, Rachel, the plain-Jane “good girl,” steals her fianc , while Darcy finds herself completely alone for the first time in her life…with a baby on the way.
Darcy tries to recover, fleeing to her childhood friend living in London and resorting to her tried-and-true methods for getting what she wants. But as she attempts to recreate her glamorous life on a new continent, Darcy finds that her rules no longer apply. It is only then that Darcy can begin her journey toward self-awareness, forgiveness, and motherhood.
Something Blue is a novel about one woman’s surprising discoveries about the true meaning of friendship, love, and happily-ever-after. It’s a novel for anyone who has ever, even secretly, wondered if the last thing you want is really the one thing you need.

I absolutely LOVE anything by Emily Giffin. Seriously, I’ve NEVER read one of her books and NOT liked it!! The characters are relate-able and very well written. She’s awesome!
I love this author. I wa hesitant to read this, as I did NOT love this character in Somethng Borrowed. I didn’t even like her until halfway through this book. But then I started to. And that’s the sign of a great writer.
First thing to know: Emily Giffin is one of my favorite authors. I wait with great anticipation for every new release, devouring them quickly and returning again and again. You will love Something Blue, the companion to Giffin’s debut novel, Something Borrowed.
We met Rachel and Darcy in Something Borrowed, 30-year-old Manhattanites who grew up together in Indiana before moving to the city. Rachel was the “good girl”, the devoted friend, who “accidentally” fell in love with (and subsequently stole) her best friend’s fiancée, Dex. But Darcy is not an innocent party – spoiled and self-centered, she had grown up stealing the limelight from Rachel, and she had also been having an affair with one of Dex’s groomsmen… and is now pregnant with his baby. While Something Borrowed was written from Rachel’s perspective, Something Blue takes us to Darcy’s side of the story, picking up right where we left off. With Rachel and Dex starting their happily ever after, Darcy is determined to make it work with her baby’s father. When everything starts to fall apart for Darcy, she seeks shelter in London with a friend, Ethan. As the story goes on, the reader gets to see if an obnoxious, narcissistic former queen bee can be redeemed and make a better life for herself – and her unborn child.
I love that Giffin’s characters are incredibly flawed, so much so that you SHOULD want to hate them. But their struggles are so realistic that the characters feel like your best friend or sister or even yourself. Every character feels honest and unique. Nothing in the real world is ever completely simple, and Giffin brings that to light in pages of complicated glory. As much as reading these words on paper makes you want to detest Darcy, you can’t help rooting for her to change and become a better person. You’ll love this book as much as I did, for its authenticity, as well as the fun glimpses into life in New York and London. A satisfying conclusion to Rachel and Darcy’s story!
Loved the whole series!
Too sappy and predictable.
A good way to get resolution for Darcy.
I love all her books!!!
Fun book
I actually liked the first book in this two book series, Something Borrowed, better than this one but this one is still entertaining enough. It follows Darcy, the jilted bride, to England to lick her wounds and start over. She’s still a brat, she still feels like she’s the victim. But as time goes on she realizes things that she refused to do before as she was pretty much stuck in her own head. Again, not as good as the first one but still a decent read.
Something Blue is a continuation of the characters in
Something Borrowed about friends who went to school together, and what they did after high school or college. Emily Giffin has written a whole series of books. Some have been on the best sellers lists
