When sweet Ada Edwards meets the mysterious Kaison Hughes, lead singer of the biggest band in the world, she can’t understand what he sees in her. Despite everyone’s warnings about him, she’s rapidly falling in love. But it’s obvious he has a secret, and he’s not all he appears to be. Kai’s life isn’t his own, and his fame isn’t the half of it. As a member of a secret organization known as the … known as the Elioud, descended from the Atlantean daughters of the Pleiades, he’s been commissioned with a task: to reintegrate the lost line of Maia into their ranks. It just so happens that Ada is the one they’ve been looking for. He doesn’t know what they intend to do to her, and he doesn’t care. All he wants is the prize for a successful mission: one unqualified wish, which he intends to spend on his beloved sister’s freedom.
There’s just one problem: Kai’s falling in love with Ada, too.

I had no idea how amazing this book would be until I started reading and found myself unable to put it down. And then I read the author’s review about how she just combined all of the things that she loved into one story and it blew me away. This book is packed full of fun things, a bad boy rockstar (which you quickly learn is only a facade), a sweet girl, a homeless neighborhood protector, mermaids, Atlantis, Greek mythology, awesome magical superpowers (I don’t want to spoil this part, but the powers are very cool!) – so many things that you don’t expect in one book. And not only are they all there, C.A. Gray makes them all work together and has all the loose ends tied up by the end of the book. Brilliantly written.
So the gist of the story is Ada Edwards is a sheltered, very trusting teenager who works at a coffee shop and spends much of her time studying. She also buys dinner for a homeless man once a week who jokingly tells her that the whole world is in love with her. But how could they not be? She has such a kind heart and refuses to grow bitter or stop trusting people despite her mom dying when she was young and people breaking her heart. She is so beautiful.
Kai Hughes, teen heartthrob and rockstar, shows up first at her bus stop, then at the coffee shop where she works, wanting to meet her. Obviously, he is up to no good, except that he quickly sees what the rest of the world sees. Ada is amazing.
And that’s just the beginning of the story. It’s an unpredictable ride that barely slows down to allow you to catch your breath. As happy as I am that it was a standalone and I got to read the entire story, I want to read another book just like it and navigate through the suspense and romance and heart of a story like this all over again and wish the author could just keep writing it. So good! I highly recommend this book!

Amaaaaazing! This book is espectacular and interesting. The story is original and full of magic, suspense, action, history, friendship and love.
Greek culture elements are mixed with the story and that makes it cool and different. The way the author describes every detail makes it easy to imagine and visualize the characters and the situations.
Ada and Kai are lovely! Their love is fearless and meant to be. Esme is also one of my favorites, because of her loyal and big heart. This book is a MUST read for all the adventure lovers and everyone looking for something different and cool!
PS: I want Ada’s dress (the one Z have her!)
Some books grab you and don’t let go ‘til long after you read the last word. This is one of them. The Atlantis Bloodline by C.A. Gray is a YA fantasy that has it all. Romance, magic, mermaids, special abilities, good vs evil, secret societies, merpeople, Titans, reality checks, and impossible dreams resized.
The characters were relatable, the world very well built, the system of magic made sense. The juxtaposition of modern urban life with a hidden in plain sight magical society was believable.
The development of the romance was a little rushed and yet due to the circumstances, it can be accepted. By the end of the book, you NEED the ending to be right. And it was so very right. It left me wanting more, though not to the point of dissatisfaction. More that you weren’t ready to let go of these characters yet and wistfully wished for more of them.
It’s a wild ride that fully engages you from the first sentence to the last. I couldn’t put it down.
The Atlantis Bloodline by C.A. Gray was a fabulous book! The storyline flowed smoothly, transitioning between characters seamlessly, telling one story through the point of view of the two main characters. This author’s twist on the tales of the lost city of Atlantis kept me entertained and eager to keep reading when I really should have been working.
Kai is a gorgeous rockstar who has a dark past. Ada is a sweet and innocent girl next door who has been plagued with nightmares her entire life. What happens when the paths of these two cross can only be described as magic. This action packed story takes the reader on a journey through the inner workings of a secret society steeped in Greek mythology as Kai and Ada each follow their quest for truth.

5 CRANKY STARS
I was going to be stingier with my 5-star ratings but the books I’ve been reading have been so good. This book is one of them. I just loved the characters and the storyline. For once, the heroine is not a gorgeous, just pretty, can do it all, top of her class woman. She is a normal 17yo who must work very hard to get passing grades. She is a poor but hardworking girl. If she is not at work at a coffee shop, she is busy studying. Her job allows her to give her Dad money to help with the rent and household expenses. She has taken it upon herself to take an old homeless man to dinner once a week. She can only afford to buy a meal for him, so she just gets a drink and talks to him. If her mom hadn’t died when she was 5yo, life would be perfect. No one has told her how or why her mom died, but it doesn’t matter as she and her Dad are close. Along comes a Rock Star, Kai, one night when her homeless friend is walking her to the bus. She really can’t believe it’s him but it’s his twin if not. They look at each other as she scrambles onto the bus. The next day he shows up at her workplace and she freaks, as do all the other young girls. She agrees to take a break and talk to him. He knows way too much about her. Of course, her life changes and all the secrets her father has are revealed. We now have a story of magic and mermaids. What could be better? Read this book in about 6 hours as that is how good it is. If I didn’t have to sleep, I’d have read it quicker.
What a start! The Atlantis Bloodline by C.A. Gray, it had me from the prologue. I loved the scene descriptions and the feelings evoke in me on every page. It is a treat from the beginning to the end, with its rich flavor of fantasy. Magic, runes, love and hate are mingled amongst the lines of this story. The first part of the book is all in the main character i.e., Ada. Then, it continues pretty much the same, this time with the view of the male character Kai.
It gives the reader a more profound understanding of the depth of each character and makes the plot endearing.
This story is beautifully written and beautifully told. The Atlantis Bloodline by C.A. Gray, is a must have for every home in the world. Those reader who like fantasy, magic, adventure, romance and redemption will love this book.
