Can her love tame her Nemesis?
Jade Marshall never imagined that she’d still be living in Hidden Hollows at twenty-eight. But her dreams of becoming a concert violinist came to nothing, so she learned to be content with her high school music teacher career. Her life is predictable and simple—until her old nemesis, Benjamin Charles, rolls back into town, determined to destroy her peace and quiet. … into town, determined to destroy her peace and quiet. Literally.
Ben never wanted to live in Hidden Hollows, not as a teenager and certainly not as an adult. But his father’s accident has brought him back to his hometown. Now he’s taken on the renovation of a beautiful old Victorian house. The one downside? The pretty, acid-tongued neighbor who complains about his honest work.
Sparks fly from more than just power tools, and Jade finds her previous hatred for Ben softening. He’s annoying yet determined and after all these years, dare she say…interesting?
If you love prim heroines and rugged, grumpy heroes, you’ll love this conclusion of the Hidden Hollows multi-author collaboration, Loving Her Nemesis.more
This is a sweet ,small town second chance romance between Jade and Ben. The author does a great job building their story and showing the issues both have gone through with family. The scenes are described perfectly and the story moves quickly and smoothly. There’s a bit of drama, tons of emotions and laughter. It’s well written and is an entertaining read.

This was a story about two people who were attracted to each other in high school, but because of misunderstandings they never got together. Ben ends up buying the house next to Jade’s to flip and they reconnect, but their road to romance is not smooth. I felt for Jade who was dealing with the trauma of a mugging and being unable to play her violin while she recovered from surgery on her hand. Ben moved back to Hidden Hollows temporarily to be there for his father, who is having health issues, but he’s starting to dream of staying there and having a family with Jade. I laughed; smiled, and got teary eyed at times reading this book.
Jade Marshall lives in the house she inherited from her grandparents. It’s apart from most of the other homes in the small town of Hidden Hollows, which is just how she likes it. The house next door has been unoccupied for years, so when she sees a flashlight beam moving around inside the house she calls the police.
Benjamin (Ben) Charles is going to renovate the run-down Victorian on the edge of town and sell it for a nice profit. If he had to be back in Hidden Hollows to look after his father he’d need the distraction the challenge this house would be. While examining the house his first morning there, he catches a glimpse of his next door neighbor getting into her car and realizes it’s Jade Marshall, the girl who had stood him up for prom.
This is kind of a second-chance-at-love story, although Jade and Ben never really got a chance when they were in high school. I thought their first meeting when Ben moves starts working on the house was funny because Jade didn’t realize who Ben was until she was almost hit by boards Ben was tossing out of a window. When she misunderstood his answer to her question of how long it was going to take and she asked “Okay, so you’ll stop making noise after tomorrow?” and accused him of disturbing the peace at 5 p.m. I almost laughed out loud. When Jade got her revenge by practicing her violin at 5 a.m. I did laugh out loud.
These two people had a huge misunderstanding from high school hanging over them which clouded Jade’s perception when Jake flakes out on a planned date. Each of them also had their own issues from their upbringing to deal with. Jade hated how her mother spread the local gossip, and took it too far in the other direction by keeping herself isolated and not letting anyone get to know her. Ben’s dad moved and started over after Ben’s mother died, and ever since he graduated and went to college Ben’s kept his dad at a distance, emotionally and physically. It reminded me of the Harry Chapin song “Cat’s in the Cradle” from the 70’s, but in reverse. Instead of the father not having time for the son, Ben didn’t make time for his father. I was relieved when Ben and Jade finally got around to talking things out. They were really good for each other.
This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed this story in the Hidden Hollows series. I’ve only read a few, but it’s fun to see the characters from the other books make an appearance.
I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but I really enjoyed this sweet second chance romance. Ms. Wood weaves a beautiful tale of two people, both with troubled souls, finding each other and learning to heal together. Ben and Jade knew each other in back in high school and because of a misunderstanding, they ended up not speaking to each other and both have unresolved feelings. They finally get a chance to sort through those feelings and in the process, find love. This was an enjoyable read that kept me interested and turning the pages anxious to see how it ends. I would definitely recommend you add this to your TBR list.

Loving Her Nemesis is a sweet, clean, second chance romance about Jade and Ben. Both characters are back in Hidden Hollows because of issues beyond their control. The characters are interesting. Their romance is slow as Ben’s renovation of the house next door interferes with Jade’s violin practice. This is a sweet escape when you need a break.
I really liked the sparing between Ben and Jade as well as how they have unresolved feelings from high school they are forced to work through with him being next door to her, you get to see both of their insecurities as well as determination and having Ben and his fathers relationship change also throughout the book was an added bonus.

My thoughts about this book:
Jade and Ben had a past together in high school. There was a major misunderstanding way back then that prevented them from having a relationship. Will they make things work now or will another misunderstanding ruin everything?
I enjoyed this clean contemporary romance. I was given an advance copy of this book by the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own.
Loving Her Nemesis is the sixth book in the multi-author Hidden Hollows series and is a sweet small-town romance.
This is an enjoyable clean romance between Jade and Ben, characters who have each come back to their hometown for different reasons. Will the misunderstandings of the teenage years stand in the way of a future together?

In high school Jade was always the nerdy girl who plays the violin that no one ever talked to until one day the football player Ben turns around in class and ask her to the senior prom which shocks her but she said yes but calls him back and tells him she is sick after she heard he would not really take her to prom. Years later Ben has purchased the house next door to her to renovate with the idea he would resale and make a tidy profit. They are both friendly and catch up on each other life since they in high school and even have an attraction to each other but they have been down that path before and she does not want him to break her heart again. They never really knew each other but he explained that back then he really liked her as he does now but will Jade take a chance on Ben.

Jade and Ben each have a different view of what really happened about prom. Years later they are both back in Hidden Hollows and living next door to each other. These two were so funny together and I loved how they interacted and finally really communicated. Sometimes the one we think we hate is the one we really love.
Super sweet second chance novel.
High school Music teacher Jade Marshall loves living on the outskirts of her home town where she isn’t bothered by anyone. Some may call her an introvert but she doesn’t mind as long as they leave her alone. When Ben Charles returns, having purchased the supposedly haunted house next door to refurbish and sell, Jade’s world and the quiet she’s enjoyed are flipped upside down; in more ways than one.
Ben figures he might as well flip another home while in town checking on his dad. He just didn’t expect to find the girl that stood him up in high school living next door. Now he’s determined to find out why and to figure out why those old feelings haven’t disappeared like he thought they had.

I loved this book!!!!! Loving Her Nemesis is the 6th book in the Hidden Hollow Series. I really like this series by Zoe Ann Wood. I read the first book in the series because I was able to get it for free but after reading her first book I am hooked on this series!!!!!!
This is my first book in the series and from the other characters in it I’m sure the other books are just as amazing. This was a sweet and clean, second chance romance. It was really great and I loved getting to know this small town.

Jade returned to Hidden Hollows, after an incident in Nashville left her broken and scared. She was a violinist in an orchestra in Nashville eland she now teaches music at the high school. She moves into her grandparent’s house and makes a life for herself. The Williams house, an old Victorian, next door to her has been empty for years, so imagine her surprise when she learns Ben, her nemesis from high school is renovating it. Ben and Jade had secret crushes on each other in high school, but they never dated. All of the noise he makes doing the renovations is interfering with Jade playing her violin. How is everything going to play out and will they ever get the past resolved? I won’t leave any spoilers, but I really enjoyed this book and the characters we got to catch up with. Grab your copy and see what happens.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
