Loved this series!! The male characters were wonderful!! Witty & charming.
always good writing–unique, well developed characters and unusual plots. not to be missed
One Knight’s Return – This was a well-written, fantastic medieval romance. Melissande has been ordered to wed a mercenary, even though she was already betrothed to someone else. Quinn has been called back home to claim his family holding, but his overlord commands that he marry Melissande, the heiress of a neighboring property. Quinn is determined to win his bride’s heart – but can he trust her? And Melissande is unsure whether to trust Quinn, knowing his father and his father’s many misdeeds as she does. I enjoyed this book so much and it can be read as a standalone story, though it is #2 in the Rogues and Angels series.
The Scoundrel – This book is a historical romance set in medieval Scotland. Evangeline needs to recover a family heirloom that was stolen from their home. Gawain has the icon and plans to sell it. The interactions between these two were entertaining and the story was full of surprises. The book was very well-written and enjoyable. This can be read as a stand alone book, though it is also the second book in a series.
The Rose Red Bride – This was a well-written, fun book. The Laird of Kinfairlie needs to find husbands for his sisters. His sister Vivienne listens to a tale told by the Laird and believes that her destined love will come for her. In the night a mysterious man does come for her, but in the morning she discovers he is Erik Sinclair of Blackleith, a disinherited warrior intending to regain his legacy. The story of their journey together was very entertaining and I couldn’t put it down. This can be read as a stand alone story, though it is the second book in a series with related characters.
The Warrior’s Prize – Set in medieval times in a land inhabited by the Fae, this was a very well-written, entertaining book. Elizabeth is the only one in her family who can see the Fae, and knowing that her brother’s soul is to be tithed to the Fae, she is determined to save him. Her brother offered to replace his comrade Rafael out of honor, and Elizabeth challenges Rafael to help her change things. I loved reading about Elizabeth and Rafael – this was a great book! This book is part of a series with related characters, though it can be read as a stand-alone story.
When Deborah Cooke slips into her Claire Delacroix persona, magic happens. These 4 medieval romances are just what you need to whet your appetite. You will fall in love with the characters and want to read all of her series. The plot lines ebb and flow with brilliance. The chemistry between the heroes and heroines sizzle! I read many authors works and it is always such a pleasure to return to the worlds of Claire Delacroix. She has the talent to bring tales to life and keep me glued to my reading spot. She never disappoints!
