The fourth book in the Amazon Charts Bestselling series by Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, K.F. Breene.Kieran has stepped up to take his place as the ruler of magical San Francisco. As his girlfriend I’m in the spotlight, and the Hades Demigods have taken notice. They want me on their team, and they don’t plan on asking nicely. Kieran and I are both under fire. They will … under fire. They will kill him to get to me, and they’ll take me by force if necessary. It is essential I learn more of my magic.
With no other options, I do what scares me the most – I summon the last Spirit Walker to help train me. Except, he’s a loose cannon with looser morals, and learning spirit is treacherous. I might evade the Demigods only to be lost in spirit forever.

Has anyone of you ever been in a book funk? No? Well, I have made acquaintance with this unpleasant experience a while ago and it’s not easily shaken off. It clings to me, much like I imagine the dead people’s souls clinging to Lexi. Nah, this is not the in to this odd beginning of the review. But there is one: for KF Breene’s stories, I pull myself together and climb out of that black whole to read again. And wouldn’t you know – it’s bright, sunny and warm back up here. And fun! That’s exactly why I like her stories – they are fun, entertaining, light hearted (despite poor Jack’s fate), have action and suspense, friendship, family, romance too. It’s balm for my book tired soul. Maybe Lexi can use her magic on me and keep my soul away from behind that Line of a non-reading existence. Maybe not. No doubt, though, that KF Breene can. Her stories make me crawl out of these darkest of places 🙂
This was a fantastic addition to the Demigods of San Fransisco series. I loved every bit of it. The writing was great as usual. There was humor and wit, action, suspense and a bit of heartbreaking sadness that I did not see coming. The characters are still so well written and I love each one of them. Kieran and his Six with Bria and Lexi and her two kids make a great team. With the addition of Harding now, who I really enjoy. Their journey is still going to train Lexi and for Kieran to find, claim or announce his place in the magical community. All the while, the other Demi-Gods of Hades are trying to take him down and steal Lexi. I cannot wait to see what’s next for this series.
Wow! What an amazing story.
The S&S story is perfect. I love revisiting all of the characters and getting a deeper look at them individually as well as a group. The author has done another super awesome job with this world and it’s characters. This is still a unique and original story unlike any I’ve read before. Kieran and Lexi are still one of my all-time favorite couples.
Alexis is learning how to be the girlfriend of a super hot, demigod. She’s learning to find her place within a larger world than what she has lived in all her life, a world she tried her damnedest to avoid. Kieran is still the quintessential Demigod, all forbidden and sexy, dangerous and full of ego. Though, now he has a ton more responsibility than he did before. The two are still a match made is Heaven. With this story we not only get to see where they are now, but we also get a bit of where they came from.
When I first met the kids, I thought Daisy was the foul-mouthed sassy one and Mordecai was the sweet, fierce one. After four books, I still feel that way. Although, now they are so much more. With being a part of the group and spending so much time training with the guys, they have developed into a pair of young, fierce fighters. Each with their own abilities. They’re each learning to be who they are, each learning to use what they have and take full advantage of their skills.
Plus, who could forget Kierna’s Six. Jack, Zorn, Donovan, Boman, Henry, and Thane. All that muscle in one place is still enough to melt any girls panties.
We also have the every fabulous Bria, who is still nuttier than a squirrel turd but we love her just the same.
Still one of my favorite parts is all the weird, unique one-liners that the author uses (i.e. Mother-trucker biscuit f%&$#%, just to name one of the many) that had me cracking up. I’m going to be adopting some more of them. (Thank you to the author for extending my vocabulary.)
Want to know what I’m talking about? Then make sure you purchase a copy of Sin & Spirit by K.F. Breene.
I’m completely hooked on this series and I can’t wait for Sin & Lightning, which comes out on July 10, 2020!
This book is so good it completely captured me but it is the same with every book I read by KF. She is the consummate storyteller that knows no bounds when she has a story to share. She is a true magician when she weaves her threads to pull them together to write her masterpieces. I jumped on this amazing train ride and I have enjoyed every single heart pounding minute along the way. It is an intense story of magic and Demigods and magical creatures of all kinds. It is full of action and danger, drama and suspense and it is full of fun that has me laughing out loud, even in some of the most explosive situations. The story is told from multiple points of view, so we get a great perspective of their motivations, and thought processes. KF certainly moved the goal line with this book and it was definitely much more emotive than the others and had me crying like a babe. Her clever plotting and intricate multi layering of not only the vivid world she has created but also of the wonderful characters she brings to life. They must be read in order as each one carries on from the last.
It is a definite MUST READ, and a MUST on everybody’s TBR list!
Wow, it was so good to dive back into Lexi’s world!
The Demigods are after her, and will stop at nothing to get her under their control ~ something Kieran won’t let happen while he’s still breathing! But it’s more complicated then kill and ask questions later like he would like to do ~ he has to think of the bigger picture and long term, he’ll need proof/evidence, but can they keep everyone alive long enough to find what they need?
It’s action packed, laugh out loud funny and a tear jerker!
To date, I think Alexis is my favorite heroine of Breene’s, and she has some great female leads. In this book, Breene doesn’t shy from the internal emotional struggles Alexis experiences, and it’s so refreshing. She doesn’t pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows. She fully embraces her struggles and leads you to battle those emotions with her. The characters are all established, so it allows her to delve more into some of the secondary characters like Kieran’s Six and her wards; especially Daisy. If anything, this book really makes me want a spin-off on Daisy STAT. She’s really grown as a character, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll do in her own series.
I’ll be honest; I didn’t think there would be much room left for surprise when it came to Alexis’s powers, but I was happily mistaken. Although the concept was confusing at times, I think her new abilities are intriguing. This story is similar to Book 2 in the series where it’s essentially buildup to another great battle. This time for Alexis to face and fend off her biological father who’s a powerhouse with mysterious powers of his own. I loved the fact that Breene delved more into the mythology of the Gods and their powers. It was always my favorite subject in school.
I cannot lie. This book was difficult to read because of some of the emotions Alexis battles, among some of the losses she experiences in some of the skirmishes with the other Demigods. There are certainly some gut-wrenching scenes in the book, but all I can say is keep going. It’s worth it in the end.
Sin & Spirit is the 4th book in the Demigods of San Francisco series.
We meet back up with Kieran, Lexi & the rest of their crew. We also get to meet some new characters.
This was a roller coaster of a ride. It’s packed with everything needed to keep you on the edge of your seat & turning page after page.
I can’t wait to see what K.F. Breene has in store for us in book 5!!
I am so thrilled that this series ended up being longer than a trilogy! Lexi and Keiran are back again and still totally kicking butt and taking names! I really enjoyed getting to see Lexi learn more about her powers and how to really start coming up to her full potential. Lexi, Kerian, and the others have new big baddies to deal with now that Valens is gone and all the excitement and drama that comes with them. These books have always made me laugh; Lexi, Daisy, and Bria are hilarious… but this one made me cry too! (You’ve been warned) I absolutely loved this latest installment. As always, I cannot wait for the next one!
Sin and Spirit picks up after Valens is defeated and gives a look into the lives of my favorite Demigod, his 6 friends, the fierce Lexi and her merry band of misfits. I loved this story and I am so glad that it’s continuing! The plot is well thought and expertly developed. The characters find ways to sink under your skin until you feel like you are fighting tooth and nail with them. It’s witty, action packed, steamy at times, and such a fantastically fun read. The twists and turns were riveting and original. I loved it!
Miss Breene has out did herself! “Sin & Spirit” has a jaw dropping storyline, with excellent character development and all the feels!
It’s a roller coaster of a ride, that will have your emotions as turbulent as an ocean!
This story picks up after Valens fall, Alexis gets thrown into the limelight and some baddies who make your blood boil! Hands down one of her BEST books!
Hold On To Your Hats, Shocks Are In Store!!
A 4.5 Star Read
Sin & Spirit (Demigod of San Francisco #4)
We are happily back with Alexis, Kieran & Co in the exciting Demigods World!!
Mordecai & Daisy are still training hard with the Six. Kieran is trying to get his Territory under his control in a way he’s happy with. Alexis is doing her bit, quietly. She still needs much more training in her Spirit Walker magic though, Bria has taught her all she can so now they need her perfect teacher! Will the other Hades Heirs & Demigods come after her? Will her Father hear about her & guess she’s his & come to kill her? Can Kieran cement his place with the rest of the Demigods?
I do so love this cast of characters! The family that they’ve all become is just heart warming, but some how still weird, snarky & sometimes awkward. Alexis & Bria together, although complete opposites, just click & work perfectly together in the storyline as well as being friends. The teenage sibling angst is spot. The relationship between Alexis & Kieran continues to melt my heart.
For some reason I didn’t fall in love with book #4 like I did with the others. It was still good, definitely worth my money & reading time, obviously, but it felt a bit distant somehow!? That might be my headspace & not the book though!! But having said that there are some truly heart stopping & heart hurting parts in this book that shook me to my core!!
Thankfully on an Audible reread, I discovered it was definitely my headspace at the time of my first read. I was completely swept up within the drama, family, friendships & machinations that were occurring! (25.02.2021)
Book #5 ‘Sin & Lightening’, is already pre-ordered!!
