“Kylee, will you marry me?” If she hadn’t still been breathing, she would’ve checked for a pulse. “M-marry you?” “Not for real, of course!” Struggling graphic designer Kylee Morgan would do just about anything to help Ryan Hudson, her very attractive friend she’s been harboring feelings for for way too long. But, marry him? That might be taking things a little too far even for her. Ryan is on the … far even for her.
Ryan is on the cusp of success with his new product line when things come to a crashing halt. He needs cash fast and his grandparent’s trust fund is the perfect solution. However, there’s one small requirement to get the money, he has to be married.
Will Kylee and Ryan play a convincing married couple? Or will things fall apart when Ryan’s family gets involved?

This was just a fun read. It was light hearted but still solid writing and good dialogue. Perfect for when you need a bit of relaxation but still want a good story. I’m already onto the next book. Great idea for this series using siblings.

All right, onto the actual review!!
Fake relationship? Witty banter? LOADS OF FEELSSSSS???? I’m there. I am sooooo there. And this book? It was super cute, y’all.
Also…can we talk about Ryan for a second? Good, because I just ABSOLUTELY adored him. He was the perfect combo of sweet and sarcastic, which was GOLDEN!!! Gahhhhhh, and I don’t want to spoil anything–BUT–y’all need to know that he did some veryyyyyy romantic gestures in the book that were totally swoonworthy!
As far as content goes: CLEAN! (A total win for me. )
In closing, if you love Hallmark movies (like I do, lol) with an …I’m convinced you’ll love this book.

Book synopsis: “Kylee, will you marry me?”
If she hadn’t still been breathing, she would’ve checked for a pulse.
“M-marry you?”
“Not for real, of course!” Kylee Morgan would do just about anything to help her very attractive, but of course, strictly platonic friend Ryan Hudson. But, marry him? That might be taking things a little too far even for her.

A Temporary Marriage is so cute. It’s a quick, easy, and sweet read. And, let’s be frank here, Ryan sounds like a bit of a dumb dumb when it comes to his feelings, but he’s great book boyfriend material. Once he gets his mind settled, he’s a dream!
I may have a special love for Kylee, the MC, as she shares a name – and the spelling – with one of my girls. Her personality is simply endearing (book Kylee, not kid Kylee, although she’s pretty sweet too).
My only complaint is the narrator. I happened to listen to this as an audio and did not adore her intonation or pace. I wish she had expressed a little more energy or zeal to match how Kylee’s POV can across to me.
I was not snorting with laughter.
Definitely not.
I was also NOT thinking that this is one of the funniest books that I’ve read.
Oh, you want an actual review? Fine.
One of the first things that stuck out to me was that Ryan and Kylee were friends before and I actually got to see that through memories. Oftentimes, friends-to-more neglect the backstory and I was so happy to see it woven throughout the book. Also, it was fantastic to see Kylee’s friendships and how the girls both supported each other.
Ryan’s family was great. They were quite the interesting bunch and kept the story moving.
I rarely read audiobooks anymore but I found this one to be quiet enjoyable. At times, the narrator seemed to run sentences together (mostly in chapter one) but otherwise, it was nice narration, with an easy-to-listen-to voice.
If you like clean fiction with a dash of humor, I highly recommend A Temporary Marriage (or any of Summer’s books really.)

3.5 stars, rounded up
This book is very Hallmark-cute. I actually haven’t ever read a “fake love” romance before and it was kind of fun to see how things came together.
Kylee is a very likable character. She’s fun and cheery and generally the kind of person anyone could adore. I really like that she’s thoughtful and kind, thinking more of others than herself.
Ryan is a pretty nice guy, though I guess I wasn’t super sure of him at first. He definitely seemed like the kind of guy that jumps into things with both feet without actually looking at what he’s jumping into. Impulsive people like that generally drive me crazy. But I warmed up to him. He definitely bit off more than he could chew with his “idea” and I liked watching him learn from his choice. Also, his eventual date ideas are adorable and I liked how that all turned out.
Alayna is the coolest roommate and I really loved her. Her Oreo technique for making decisions was pretty fun and I could see my husband fully embracing such a method for making decisions. Ha! I still don’t like Madison. I know she apologized for her behavior, but you know what? She was abominably rude and I guess I’m not very forgiving. My sisters have each dated a couple guys who ended up being jerks, and even though I didn’t trust either of them upon meeting, I didn’t tell them to their faces that I thought something was wrong with them. It’s just rude.
The book overall is really quite cute. I thought it was a little fast-paced, not leaving as much time as there could have been for some deep development. I would have loved for it to be fleshed out a bit more. But overall, if you’re looking for a super clean, really cute romance, this is it.
Note: contains mild romance (some kissing). No language.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Read by Reagan Brown; This reader is fine. She isn’t monotone or boring and generally uses appropriate inflection for the characters (so you know if it’s a boy or girl speaking) and their emotions. Sometimes, however, she would speak for a character in a way unfitting for the narrative. For example: “‘What are you doing?’ Ryan whispered.” She’d speak for Ryan in a regular speaking voice rather than indicating with her voice that Ryan had whispered. That happened often enough that I found it irritating. That said, if she narrated all the books in this series, I would still listen to all of them.
Just for fun, here’s the food list:
Blueberry Muffins
Hot chocolate
Burritos, chips and salsa
Oreos
Fried rice and orange chicken
Cheerios
Burger, fries, lemonade
Doritos
Thai food
Pizza, ham and pineapple
Roast, potatoes
Burgers (bbq)
Pancakes, sausage
Rolls
Mint and chip ice cream
Brownie batter ice cream
Choc chip muffins
Cranberry muffins
4.5 stars A Temporary Marriage was such a fun fresh take on the marriage of convenience trope. I loved that instead of the normal way this is portrayed in contemporary novels with the characters living together and pretending to be married, Kylee and Ryan actually get married and have a real, but not real, marriage. The humor and chemistry were really enjoyable and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
This is a fun, sweet romance. It reminded me a bit of the movie “While You Were Sleeping”. I recommend it.
This is a Cute chick-flick with a sweet romance.
4 1/2 stars. Lovely story with laugh out loud moments. Really likeable characters, love grandma. Absolutely enjoyed reading this. Cannot wait to read more by this author
