All Alistair MacCullach wanted was to appease Clan Mackay. Perhaps after he made a deal they would stop their raids and maintain the peace of the laird’s lands. Perhaps they would keep the promises they had broken again, and again. But what Morag and Cat’s father hadn’t bargained on, was that Lachlann Mackay, the fearsome leader of the warlike clan, would want a bride in exchange for his peace. … his peace.
Morag MacCullach believes in destiny; but when things look darkest, hope is a hard thing to find…
Kidnapped on the day of her wedding by a band of lawless raiders intent on securing their own piece of history, Morag MacCullach is at the mercy of Manus Camran, a man who believes that a wealthy bride will make the laird recognize his claim to his father’s legacy. Escape seems futile, but Morag is stronger than she looks, and there may yet be a way to save herself and escape her cruel fate.
Reader beware — “A Stolen Bride” features lots of plaid, possible historical inaccuracies, a high-spirited heroine, and a dastardly plot that could ruin everything. There is no cheating to be found here, and a Highland HEA is guaranteed.
Inside every history book is a heartthrob waiting to be discovered…

Second in the series, and the story continued, this time from Morag’s point of view. She had been kidnapped before her wedding, and now she had to survive. She had the strength to try to escape though she did not make it. The time she spent with Donnal made her realize her true feelings. As things move forward in this story, they get closer to each other. The clan war continued, and the third book will reveal the ending. I enjoyed this story.
I received a copy of this story through CBR Services, and this is my unsolicited review.
This is Book 2 in the “Highlander’s Honor” series and the good character and storyline development kept me totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
This is an interesting twist to the series. It seemed a bit more violent (Manus) than the first one though, if my memory serves me right. I couldn’t really connect with this sister unless she was thinking back on what her much more bold and brave younger sister would do. The cliffhanger was a huge disappointment for me, I’m just not a fan of them. I’m also not convinced of the main characters connection other than physical attraction, I think both of them have a separate agenda, not enough romance felt more like a convenient opportunity. It just seemed like the plot looped without progress. I was provided a free copy without obligation and am voluntarily reviewing.
Treated like merchandise, kidnapped and mistreated, Morag seems to have run out of luck. Revenge, power struggle, and resentment seem to be behind it all. And the fate of many were in danger. Who can help this frightened damsel who had never imagined such dire situation? Surrounded by violence and mistrust, Morag realized that it was in her hands to find an escape and she put at stake the only thing she had. But that who seemed her only choice was stumbling indecisively. Time was running out and the worst was yet to come. What a drama! Reminds me of the saying about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Morag was different from the feisty, brave and determined Kat, but I liked this story more. Action, suspense, violence, secrets, adventure, romance and passion. The story interested and entertained me a lot. Left me very intrigued waiting for the next book.
It ended in a cliff hanger, need I say that was a disappointment.
P00r Morag, she was forced into an arranged marriage with Lachlan McKay, who was proably not anyone’s choice. The night before she is kidnapped, tied and forced onto a horse. The a mad rush to sort of get out of town. But the man who took her is cruel, evil and enjoys hurting her. He now expects her to marry him but she told him, it was not going to happen. Her sister Cat would fight them tooth and nail before she would give up.
Donnal McCrain was given responsibility for Morag’s care, not a happy camper. He did his best and also tried to ease the cruelty that Manus showed toward her. But he was still one of the bad guys.
It was well written and the characters were fearful, even his own men. There always seemed to be a tension in the air when any of those men had to deal with her. The landscape was lush and descriptions were colorful. I did read straight through, it seemed I wanted to know what was going to happen to her. Even though there was no HEA it was excellent. I do recommend it.
I received this Arc from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
Book two of the Highlander’s Honor series a well written story, but it ends on a cliff-hanger. Morag MacCullach is at the mercy of Manus Camran. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Morag was kidnapped by the cruel Manus. He wanted power and land. But Donnal fell for her while in captivity. Donnal was Manus’ brother but Manus didn’t know. Morag knew an alliance with Donnal might help get her freedom from marrying Manus then she fell for him. But then someone betrayed Donnal and their plans. And then she was all alone, or was she?

Having read the first book which ended up in a cliffhanger, be prepared for this second book in the series to also end in a cliffhanger. I was surprised that Donnal McCrain, the hero in this book, isn’t even mentioned in the blurb?!
Morag is kidnapped on the day of her wedding to Lachlann Mackay by a rival clan whose laird, Manus Camran, plans on marrying her so that he can get his hands on her wealth and lands. The whole story takes place while she’s a prisoner in a small hut. She tries a few times to escape but is always caught and brought back. Donnal is put in charge of watching her and although trust is an issue, passions flare and they fall for each other. We don’t find out that much about Donnal but he does seem to be the good guy and finally agrees to help her escape. Plans don’t go as planned and now we must await the 3rd book!!
