I love Regency romance and this is one of the best I have read by new-to-me author Sunny Brooks with captivating characters and a beautifully written story that immediately grabbed my attention and kept me glued to the book until I read the last word including mystery, blackmail, suspense, and sweet romance. I really liked the instant attraction and romance between Lady Teresa and Lord Reyes as they work together to protect his sister, Lady Lucinda. I look forward to reading more by this gifted author. I received an advance reader copy of “A Sleuth for the Marquess” from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Lady Teresa catches Nicholas, Lord Reyes stealing from the royal family and it is revealed that he is being blackmailed on threat of hurt to his sister Lucinda if he doesn’t do what the blackmailer wants. Teresa, Nicholas, Lady Cecelia and the Duke of Sussex work with him to discover his identity. There was plenty of intrigue and romance in this Regency mystery.
This family-friendly regency mystery involving blackmail and the feisty Lady Cecelia from Love on the Grand Tour can be read in an afternoon and is a sheer delight.

Another well written short story in the The Unruly Duchess series where Lady Cecelia is to marry the Duke of Sussex, a son of King George. We now meet new people, Lord Nicholas, the Marquess of Reyes, his sister Lucinda and Lady Teresa. Teresa and Reyes do not get off to a great start. The story has suspense, drama, danger, a villain, jealousy, twists, turns, and love. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book picks up very shortly after the first one left off, though our focus shifts slightly to a new couple that have been pulled into Lady Cecelia’s orbit. The story of Teresa and Nicholas is filled with intrigue and suspense, a blackmail mystery, and a sweet budding romance. I was instantly hooked. I especially loved how this book ties us back in to the Catesby family and gives us a peek at where a few of them are now. I have no idea what the Unruly Duchess will bring us next, but I look forward to seeing whatever it is.

A Sleuth for the Marquess: A Historical Regency Romance Novel is the second book in The Unruly Duchess series.
I really enjoyed this Regency romance. The characters are well developed, charming, and lovable. The storyline is well written and begins where “Love on the Grand Tour” left off. There is suspense, intrigue, drama, and an ever-growing relationship and love.

A strong storyline and an impressive plot. This is one tremendously enjoyable read. It’s heartwarming, fast paced and filled with romance and intrigue.
A Sleuth for the Marquess was a pleasant surprise and is the second book I have read from this author. I enjoy clean historical fiction, and this one certainly is that. The author did a good job mixing intrigue with romance. This is the second story in the Unruly Duchess series, and it picks up where the first book ended. Although this book could be considered stand-alone, it helps gives additional depth to the story to read Love on The Grand Tour first. I appreciate that the author did not put the main characters through a series of misunderstandings that caused strife in their budding relationship, but instead developed their characters through difficult situations of which they both were aware and worked through together. It was a refreshing change from many of the stories I have read where the hero and heroine lie to one another or try to hide unpleasant things from each other only to have them revealed anyway…you know how it goes.
I will certainly purchase more of Sunny Brook’s novels.
