One deadly secret, three terrifying princes. I have a secret and if the Mindslayers discover the truth, they will torture me and my sister to our deaths. Ever since our parents abandoned us in the slums–sold us body and soul–I’ve struggled to keep the truth concealed. If it weren’t for my best friend Jix and the forest outside the slum walls, I don’t know if I could survive. But I have a temper. survive.
But I have a temper.
So when the Roya Tripsett–the three princes of the Kingdom–threaten Jix, I can’t help standing up for my best friend. But now they know. The three most powerful–and sexiest–men in the kingdom know my secret. By rights, they could kill me, but when I look into their eyes, I’m not certain what they’ll do–capture me, kill me, or mate me.

Meela has a huge secret and an unexpected attraction three princes. It looks like fate has a lot in store for these four and many truths need to be revealed. Great start to this series, the story is action packed and will keep you guessing. I freely reviewed this book.
Wow!!! This was a amazing read. The adventure continue on right after Forbidden Mindslayer it didn’t miss a beat. This fast paced read had so much going on you couldn’t help but be hook from beginning to end. The only bad part was that it ended on a cliffhanger but I’m really not mad about it. I’m just more excited to see what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Another great new series in the making. This is a unique take on paranormal powers and it is like a breath of fresh air. Meela is a great mc, who is strong and fiesty. Having her memories blocked, she only remembers from the time her parents sold her and her sister to Dribble. She believes herself to have the curse. Dregs aren’t supposed to be able to mindslay, if they are found out they are executed along with all family members. And then she meets the brothers, and her memories slowly begin to return. The three princes are great, although I am not the biggest fan of Leo by the end of this book. This ends in a cliffy, and you are left with more questions than answers but I am looking forward to seeing her relationship develop with Taraz and Leo in the coming books.
Holy moly, what a great book. I really enjoyed the world building Willa gave us and I found the adventure completely captivating. Absolutely loved it. The mystery, the storyline and the unique approach to the characters had me glued. Well done Willa, perfect start to the series.
Oh my word! This series so far is amazing! After reading the prequel, i was intrigued. So we have The Gift, The Curse and wolves so far. We have 3 Princes and an Uncle who are Eliterrati. We have Meela and her sister Huali who are Dregs. There seems to be a prophecy or something. Also Meela is missing some memories of her life and is keeping a secret. Unfortunately Meela, Taraz, Sarkany and Leo have something in common. Wanting to know what is going on. There is a lot of zigzagging going on. There is a bit of steam so we have a slow burn, which is perfect for this story. The ending was crazy and I want more. This is the first series that I have read of Willa Hart and I have to say that I am a fan for life. This is a wonderful adventure to read along to.
Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
Willa Hart’s first-ever book series was an urban fantasy reverse harem and it was so good, I couldn’t wait for her next series. Forbidden Power is the first book in her new series, Mindslayer, and it was amazing, I absolutely loved it. Willa has top has another great series on her hands.
Forbidden Power is a dystopian fantasy reverse harem. By the little clues that were left I could tell that at one point their society was like ours but at some point in the future things revert back to a monarchy and the classes are separated. The syntax is also a little different from ours, almost like a mix between the current speech patterns of today, with foreign touches and olden ways, if that makes any kinda sense. Society is broken up into two parts, the Eliteratti who have mindslayer powers (a mindslayer has powers over the mind) royals who are always Eliteratti, are upper class while the lower class has no powers, who are servants and called Dregs.
Meela is the main character, she is smart, brave, kind, a mindslayer and also a dreg, which in their world means death. If a dreg is born with mindslayer powers they and their entire family are killed. Meela has kept her powers hidden her entire life but when the princes of the kingdom, also known as the royal tripsett, start getting involved in her life things get complicated and a lot more dangerous.
The story was so interesting, figuring out how the mind powers work, who has them, and how exactly they come into play in the story. Always with royals there is politics and I am pretty sure I figured out a political plot behind a certain character, I have a couple of theories that relate to the past. I am really curious to find out if I’m right and if I’m not then I am dying to know what really happened in the past, everything is connected.
As for Meela, I love her, she is willing to do anything to keep the people she loves safe. She has a temper but she’s smart and she thinks things through before saying or doing anything that could have great consequences. As for her love interests, the princes, I know I am a little shocked by responses to them. Two of the brothers have attitude problems, Sarkany I thought would be the roughest of the three and pig head about the situation he is actually most caring while Leo is an ass. I cannot stand the guy and I don’t how Willa is gonna get me to love him but from where I am setting he is a small-minded, entitled brat who needs a lesson in hard truths. As for Taraz, omg, he is an adorable puppy who must be protected at all times.
There are a few things that made me absolutely love this book, one of them being the diversity in looks among the characters and the combinations. There were people of color represented but with different combinations like dark skin and white-blond hair and the fact that genetics doesn’t really play in how a person looks, everything is random, how one sister can have dark skin while the other be fair-skinned. It’s a whole new take on the situation and I find it interesting while the society may discriminate against people because of mind powers, they couldn’t because of looks and that is a unique take on the situation for me.
Another thing that I loved is that princes get chapters and I mean a lot of them, it’s like every other chapter is told from the point of view from a prince and personally I love that, I think it rounds out a story better when told from multiple points of view.
Forbidden Power was a quick read that I devoured and loved every second of it. The story was full of romance, political danger, steam, action, and mystery. Meela has just met the royal princes the question is will she be able to keep them. I can’t wait for the next book, I am so excited to see what happens next, I am beyond ready for book two, Forbidden Journey.
An exciting start to an already addicting series. So much action, suspense and chemistry between Meela and the Roya Tripsett that I am giddy in excitements for what’s to come. Can’t wait for the next installment in this already addicting series.
This book is crazy good , but I need answers and I need them now!!! I don’t like the The cousin or the uncle or his man servant. Something very fishy is going on there . The ending was absolutely crazy. What the heck is going on?
I really enjoyed reading this book! I am so excited for the next book wow! And what a cliffhanger! I love the storyline its awesome! The characters are awesome too! So ready for the next one! Highly recommend!
Meela’s existence changes forever after helping her sister in this erotic paranormal romance. 4 stars
I enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. There is lots of action, intrigue and the chemistry and interaction between the characters Tori and Haru is great. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
prequel? … great .. book 1? … totally enjoyed!! … fantastically written .. book 2 is released when?!
This book was amazing. If this is what we can expect going forward then I am all I. This is a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
Sacrifice, intrigue, fated mates…It’s all about finding your way and discovering yourself. This is very well written and leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat. It ends on a cliffhanger, so be warned. You won’t want to put it down.
I read this straight after Forbidden Mindslayer and was sucked straight into the story, I fell in love with the Princes and Meela is an awesome main character. It ends on a cliffhanger of sorts so you will NEED the next book, I can’t wait to see what happens next and if Meela ends up with a 4th member in her harem!
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Meela has a secret.
If the Mindslayers were to found out, she and her sisters would be dead.
When her friend is in danger, Meela had no choice to use her power.
Now the three princes know of her secret.
What would they do to Meela ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I really loved this book I can’t wait for book two I could barely put this page turner down! I can honestly say I didn’t think I’d go in the direction that it did and I’m very pleasantly surprised! This is a must read guys!
