Manhattan is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series. Everyone knows not to fall in love with your best friend. But when your best friend is Michael Becker, it’s impossible not to.He’s everything our town knows a Becker brother to be: devastatingly handsome, charming as a thief, and the icing on the cake — a sentimental musician who’s never without his guitar. And … who’s never without his guitar.
And he was mine. At least, that’s what I’d convinced myself.
Our bond was born in elementary school, strengthened by circumstance and the promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. And the best thing about my life was being friends with Michael Becker.
Until it was the worst.
I watched him fall in love with someone else, and helped patch him back up when she left him behind. But when he drops the bomb that he’s moving to New York, I realize it’s my last chance to tell him how I feel. And I ask him to make one more promise.
One summer. One list of adventures to remind him that our small town has more to offer than memories of the girl who left him behind.
One last chance to tell him I’m in love with him.
And I’m just dumb enough to believe that maybe he could love me, too.

I cannot put to words how much I loved this book, Kandi Steiner sure does know how to make us swoon and fall in love with her stories like no other. Manhattan had me laughing, crying, swooning, and on the edge of my bed. This was a story about two people who needed each other for everything, Michael is trying to recover from a broken heart, and Kylie is trying to make her best friend see what’s right in front of him.
These two were amazing, the Becker brothers are the absolutely best. Michael is the brother who is a little bit more lost than the other brothers. When he is ready to leave and start a new life, his best friend is there to remind him that there is so much more to the town than memories of the girl who left him. I loved how strong and amazing Kylie is, she has been in loved with Michael since she could remember so when he announces that she is leaving town she decides is time to make him see what has always been in front of him.
Kylie and Michael were fire, I loved how they were always there for each other. I loved seeing these two start realizing that their hearts belong to each other and no one else. This book (the whole series) is a MUST READ, you will love every single thing about this book and characters.
I have been anxiously waiting for Mikey’s book and Kandi Steiner did not disappoint!
As always the writing was amazing, Kandi has a way of sucking you into her stories and taking you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Friends to lovers story line with a slow burn.
I loved the build up of Mikey and Kylie’s relationship. Even when I got mad at Mikey for being so unbelievably dumb I was still rooting for them to get their HEA! During the hardest of times for them you still could feel it in your gut how strong their love was.
Side note that has absolutely nothing to do with my review: but I may have gotten super excited when I saw my name used in this story! I know it wasn’t for me but still!!
Still waiting for more answers about the fire!!!
Highly recommend!!!!!
Loved! Loved! Loved this slow burn, friends to lovers storyline. Definitely went through all the FEELS with this beautiful story of loss and realization. I can’t wait to read Jordan’s book next.
* I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review *
I think this is the cutest Kandi Steiner book to date. I loved everything about it, as usual, but there was an certain innocence to this book that I am OBSESSED with! I seriously think I have a toothache from the sweetness in this book. It reminded me of watching and rewatching my favorite romance movies. Like who doesn’t love to watch 13 Going on 30 for the millionth time, laughing like a maniac, while simultaneously bawling your eyes out??? That’s right, NO ONE CAUSE IT’S AWESOME! Anyway, that’s exactly how this book made me feel and I appreciate that it brought those out in me all throughout reading.

CHARACTERS:
Kylie Nelson – I need to first say that I have such a soft spot for Kylie for one big reason: she reminds me so much of my best friend. Her pure selflessness and giving nature instantly made me think of her and because of that, I already love Kylie so, so much. Not to mention that she’s just overall, smart, beautiful, and amazing. She’s just a total badass nerd and I love her for it. It was so awesome to see her grow into herself and stand up for what she felt she deserved. And just the way she cares for her family and Mikey is the best thing ever. And it was super easy to connect with her when she felt like she was missing out on love and all that. My heart broke for her, but I understood it all the same. I love her spirit and I’m just so happy I got to read her character!
Michael Becker – Oh Mikey. How I love you. Even if you are an IDIOT! (I say that because I love him, don’t worry). My heart shattered for his broken heart, but I loved seeing it get put back together (in my opinion, better than before). I so understood his loss of self and confusion after high school. Navigating this part of life is something I’m still trying to achieve. It’s stressful, daunting, and at times, it really, really sucks. But it was amazing to watch him come into himself with Kylie’s pushing. I loved all of it. This boy may be dumb at times, but boy is he a sweetheart.
It also made me the HAPPIEST to read about all the other relationships and characters in the last two books. I fell more in love if that’s even possible. Ms. Betty Collins
One thing is for sure Mikey and Kylie’s story was the SWEETEST THING! Their love is so pure and strong. I LOVE IT FOREVERRRRR!!!
I hope you’ll take a chance on this book, (or even the series!) because it is seriously THE SWEETEST! *New game: take a shot for every time I say sweet in this review *
I literally CANNOT WAIT for Jordan’s book. Like, please someone hold me because he’s my favorite and I haven’t even read the first page of his book. I AM CALLING DIBS RIGHT THE FRICK NOWWWWW! HE. IS. MINE. Thank youuuuu!
And as always, thank you so, so very much, Kandi! You’re amazing and I’m truly grateful for you and everything you do. Congratulations on another amazing book!
Manhattan burns slow, like a long pull of single malt. When you mix in friends to lovers, this small town romance will leave you with a heady, satisfied sigh. Five stars!
OMG!! This has to be one of my favorite books I have read by Kandi! I loved it so much!! Michael and Kylie are everything! I loved their friendship and how they loved each other so much! This friends to lovers story is perfect. You will laugh, cry, feel everything they go through!! I can’t wait until the next book!!
“One Summer. One list of adventures to remind him that our small town has more to offer than memories of the girl who left him behind. One last chance to tell him I’m in love with him.” – Kylie Nelson
Michael Becker is struggling to let go of the heartbreak of his first love leaving him behind. He’s determined to leave the small town he’s grown up in behind for the bright lights of New York City. He wants to get away and forget all about the girl who broke his heart. Although there is one good thing that came from that break up, Mikey got his best friend back, Kylie Nelson.
Kylie and Mikey have been best friends since they were 8 years old. From that friendship Kylie fell in love with Mikey, but never told him. She watched from the sidelines as he fell in love with another girl and was there to help pick up the pieces when she left. After Mikey announces he is going to New York City at the end of the summer, Kylie is determined to remind him of what Stratford has to offer, and hopefully make him realize that he loves her. She has one summer, the question is, is one summer enough?
Kandi Steiner writes some of the BEST books I have ever read. From start to finish every single book grabs me and I can’t put it down until I finish it. I have loved each and every Becker brother and I can’t wait to see what Kandi has in store for us with Jordan’s book, but there was just something about Mikey and Kylie’s story that stuck out for me. That friends to lover’s thing really just gives me all the feels. I also really enjoyed getting to watch Kylie’s confidence grow from the beginning to the end of this story, and I truly think that Mikey helped with that. Both Mikey and Kylie are some of the best characters I’ve ever read. This book is packed full of everything you could want and all the emotions you can think of. I laughed out loud, I cringed, and I cried throughout this entire book. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely amazing!
Manhattan is officially my new favorite Kandi Steiner book. I’m not always the biggest fan of slow burns but I would read every slow burn if they were written the way Kandi wrote Manhattan. It was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. I laughed and squealed and wanted to scream and throw the book at certain parts. It also helps that it’s one of my favorite tropes. There’s just something about being in love with your best friend that gets to. Mikey and Kylie’s story is so beautiful and heart breaking. It’ll make you feel a gauntlet of emotions. You’ll root for the characters when they’re high and just wanna hug them when they’re feeling low. It’s absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to reread it soon
Michael is the youngest of the Becker brothers. He is bitter and sad because his long time girlfriend dumped him and moved to Nashville to pursue her music career. The move they were supposed to make together after graduation. Mikey tells his family the night of his graduation that he’s moving to NYC to move on and start fresh. No one is happy about it, especially his mom, and even less thrilled about it is his best friend Kylie. She has loved him from a far since they were 8 years old, but when Bailey was in the picture they drifted apart. Now that Bailey has moved Kylie and Mikey are inseparable again. And the closer they get the deeper she falls for him. He just doesn’t know it…..yet.
This book made me swoon but I also wanted to strangle the characters at times. The ending is so perfect though. My only complaint is I wanted more, I didn’t want the book to end. Can’t wait for Jordan’s story next!
I am absolutely loving the Becker Brothers series! Manhattan is Michael Becker’s story, the youngest brother. After reading the ending of Neat I was excited to read Michael ‘Mikey’ Becker’s story. Kandi Steiner is one of my fave writers. She has the ability to create magic with her words, and this story was definitely a emotional rollercoaster.
Mikey and Kylie’s story was everything a friends to lovers romance should be. It was nostalgic, heartbreaking, beautiful, raw, and so real. I liked that everything was slow building. At the same time, I loved that there was plenty of story about their romantic relationship.
Manhattan is filled with sweet and touching moments. It brings all the feels and the emotional aspect. This story was so much more than two friends falling in love. It’s about learning who they are and living in the moment. It’s about taking chances and knowing that in the end it was worth taking the risks. There is a great build-up towards the climax, not too fast, not too slow – just the right amount of pace for the characters. There were few heavy moments, few lighter moments and abundance of super adorable moments. It was a very unique story, unlike any other friends to lovers stories I’ve ever read. It has a very familiar and homely feel to it. This series is definitely becoming a favorite of mine. Manhattan was another incredible addition to an already addicting series. I can’t wait for Jordan’s story.
