Abducted or Saved? Kol is an Alliance trader and part-time pirate, but when Admiral Tir asks him to retrieve a woman from Earth, despite his reservations about abductions, he could hardly deny the future Emperor of the Alliance. Now Kol may be new to kidnapping, but he’s not new to the filth of the galaxy, and this young woman has been living in one of the filthier places he had ever seen. … he had ever seen. Morally, he feels he has done her a favor in saving her from galactic poverty. He keeps reassuring her that he is taking her to a better place. Kol doesn’t even begin to understand her frustration at being taken.
Jesse was walking home when a grey alien abducted her in broad daylight. Now he has locked her in a room on his starship and says that he is taking her to her sister in the Alliance Empire. Jesse hates her sister, Dru, for running away from the Exterior and now hates her sister even more for this abduction. All Jesse wants to do is return home and live her life on Earth. It has only taken her a few days to realize that tears won’t work on her captor, so she is going to try her feminine wiles. She’s heard humans are considered to be the most beautiful out of all the galactic species. If that doesn’t work, she will try something else. One thing she is sure of, she is not going quietly to her sister or the Alliance.
Although you can jump in at any point in the Renascence Alliance Series, it’s recommended you read Married to the Alien Doctor, Renascence Alliance Series Book 2 or Married to the Alien Admiral of the Fleet, Renascence Alliance Book 4 before reading Abducted by the Alien Pirate, Renascence Alliance Series Book 5.

I enjoyed this book, but it seemed a bit distant from the rest of the series, not as steamy or romantic, I kept expecting Kol and Jesse to have a hot, forbidden romance, but was left disappointed. I also didn’t want to skip this book in case I missed anything from the Alliance conspiracy or Gods meddling, but Jesse’s introduction with her special talents do give the series an exciting twist. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was a story rich in detail and emotion

Jesse was abducted from Earth and transported to the Alliance Capital Planet where her sister was waiting to meet her. Jesse had never wanted to leave Earth and constant tried to persuade Kol to return her. Over the two weeks they spent travelling together they grew to understand each other too well and neither one wanted their time together to end. Kol was of the Middling Class while as a human female Jesse was now classed as belonging to the Maximum Class and it was forbidden to marry out of their class. This was a story rich in detail and emotion, the characters well crafted with strong personalities which made reading this story both enjoyable and thought provoking.

Not one of the best of this series.
This just wasn’t one of my favorites in this series. The characters were interesting, but their connection just didn’t seem as compelling to me. It seems like it was more about forwarding the story and the necessary connections to move the overall plot of the series forward. It was different to see the life or perspective of the middling class citizen, which was good. The writing was good, the overall plotting is good, and as I continue reading this series I am really hoping that the overall arc of the plot through all the books will make all these stories come together.
Dru was being asked by Ket to allow the Capital City Express gossip column access to their home in the Imperial Ring of the Capital City for the entertainment of the Empire, to reveal their private lives, poke, prod, and make judgments on everything they have done – all to take the pressure off Admiral Jei at 200 years of age who by right could marry Ellie, 1/10th of his age! Ket felt that the Admiral would marry Ellie if the public insisted, and that was not what Dru wanted to see happen! It disgusted her!
So in order to agree to the open house, to put attention on themselves and take the pressure off Admiral Jei, Dru demanded that Ket bring back a woman brought from Earth of her choosing – her younger sister she had left behind in the Exterior and now wants to save from her fate. She wanted her sister because she said The Empire needs her and, like her own gifts of telepathy and foresight, Jesse has even more powerful gifts. It wasn’t legal, but he could do it by using an Alliance trader and part time pirate to abduct her.
Kol abducts Jesse and feels he has done her a good deed in getting her out of the filthy Exterior of Earth. He doesn’t understand why she is not grateful, but she does not want to see her sister again, hating her for leaving the Exterior and for this current abduction. She will try every trick she knows to keep from going to the Alliance or to her sister. Kol is in for a “rough ride” for sure!
I enjoyed this book very much and was glad I got to learn more about Dru before disliking her as I may have by reading only the blurb. I actually felt bad for her dealing with the disdain shown to humans. When the story line gets to Jesse and Kol, I loved their interactions. The author does well in engaging the reader from the start and in the world-building that sets the reader’s expectations for what follows. Grab your copy and enjoy!
