If you find out your whole existence, everything you ever knew is a lie, where does that leave you?I am Star and I’m a sacrificial offering for my people.A thing to be sold to the highest bidder. Then I’m bought and nothing is as it seems.Up is down, and good is bad.My new master is a hardened mafia soldier named Markos. He wants to save me.I don’t want to be saved. The only way out of this for me … saved.
The only way out of this for me is betrayal of the highest order.

Ooookkaayy, this was a very different, not what I was expecting story.
A child sold into slavery, is sold and offered freedom later on in life. She doesn’t know anything other than the life she has lived and isn’t sure she wants freedom. Will Star be able to break free?
Markos, like Star was abused as a child. Can these two help each other?
Great story! Very different!
Love this Series!!
To bring down a trafficking ring, Markos must infiltrate and bid to keep his cover. When he brings Star home, he realizes she believes she has been honoring her family and was raised for this very event.
A complex journey of cults, attraction and the many shades of good and evil.
A growing relationship between damaged people and the continued effort to bring down the people who perpetrate evil against others. I highly recommend.

This is great Mafia book. The characters are well developed and engaging and plenty of chemistry that helps to keep you engaged. The storyline flowed smoothly from start to finish and had me turning pages as fast as I could read them.

What she was raised to think is a lie but will she believe the truth
I am not going to lie as The Betrayal by SR Jones is a book that deals with heavy subject matter. There is a cult, sex slavery, selling children, murder and a few other unsavory things. But it is also a story of love, healing, overcoming your past and finding the person that is your other half.
Star was born and raised in a cult that sold their children into sex slavery. Because she was brought up to believe she was doing something great for her “family” she did not know there was another way and that this was wrong. Nor did she know that there were a lot of other things that were happening which were wrong. She was raised to be a submissive to a master and when she is bought by Markos she is ready for her her future to begin. But Markos is not interested in her that way which she cannot understand. It will take her some time and counseling to understand that she was lied to her entire life and that what she thought was her future was actually to be her prison. She can have another future if only she can imagine it.
Markos is a flawed character but still a fantastic H. He was abused in his past and he still has not truly dealt with this. It will take both Markos and Star coming together to heal each other and possibly have a future that neither imagined previously.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This book 4 in the Mafia Vows Series is a well-written dark story with so many twists/turns, dangers, action, betrayal, romance, love and so much more. The characters are very well-crafted and the supported characters are from previous books and they evolve with the stories get better. I love how they keep popping up. This is one of my favorite series and authors now. This is very gripping and I could not put down and I feel this story was the best so far. This does have triggers be warned.

This is the fourth book in this wonderful series and though it can be read as a stand alone do yourself a favour and read the entire series in fact read anything you can get your hands on by this very talented author
Star raised in a cult only knows how to be a sex slave when more dark secrets come out about the cult she was raised in she will need to face the fact that her entire life has been based on lies Marko is a mafia man who was raised in an abusive situation and he is a hard man who trusts no one As they spend time together Star’s natural instinct his be submissive but Marko wants nothing to do with her in that way. He wants her to come to him as a strong woman in her own right Have these two damaged people finally found the other half that will heal them.
Star was bought by Markos as an offering for a cult – What she fails to understand is that he is saving her from a faith as a submissive to a master. They both have troubled past that prevents them from moving forward. Markos sees her innocence and it makes him want to feel something, and he wants to protect her while saving people from the cult. It is an amazing story which is a must read!

This is a very enjoyable read such a great story. The storyline is real action packed, fast paced, page turner filled with wonderful characters.
This story takes you on an action-packed adventure that is filled with suspense, emotion and some humour.
Loved it and can’t wait for the next book.

Star is from a commune and was brought up to please her master till she is saved by the mob men markos, alesso, Cole , and damien who try to help her . Star finds that she can is drawn to markos. Awesome story loved this .
This is the first book of this series I’ve read. How I ended up this being the first for me is totally strange yet it opened my eyes about a series I was missing. This story just tears me up at every turn. This author knows how to make the characters not only come to life but to make me invested in finding out what happens to them. Markos appears so withdrawn from feelings and relationships that I just wanted anything good to happen to him. Star is so in denial that she isn’t aware of the bad things happening and around her. As these two get together there are times I had to laugh and more times I wanted to cry. The author did a good job with the secondary characters. I understand they have their own stories before this one and I plan on reading them. I didn’t really feel lost by not having read them. I think the author did a great job of giving me enough about them to get a feeling for them. This is a series I’d recommend. It has good flow to the story. I didn’t want to put it down. It has characters that you can both love and somewhat hate.
This is the first book that I’ve read from S.R. Jones. I am intrigued with the series. This story is a bit disturbing as it touches on cult/human trafficking and could be triggering for some. There are no graphic descriptions but there are some references to what is endured. The story with Markos and Star is touching and will pull your heartstrings. This is a different take on the Mafia life as these characters are more like mercenaries working for the good guys. I did enjoy reading the story and I hope to read more in the series. I received an advance copy of this book from the author and this is my honest opinion and voluntary review.
I so loved Marko and Star. These two are so broken in ways, you don’t know if you’ll ever come back from. Star’s whole life she’s been lead to believe that she was an offering to a master, to be submissive, please him and when she ends up with Markos, she is mortified that he wants nothing to do with her. What she can’t understand is why they all keep saying they save her, she’s been brainwashed, when this is all she’s ever believed her life to be. Markos has demons, but there is something about Star’s innocence that draws him to her, he wants things he shouldn’t, it’s not right, but she makes him feel and that’s something that hasn’t happened in a long while. The more time Star is in the compound with everyone and the evidence shown to her, she starts to believe that her life has been a complete lie. They are two souls traveling the earth looking for a sign and they just might have found it with each other. I love all the other characters entwined within this story, it’s a great read and I hope there is more to come. I received a copy of this book.
Markos and Star are two “broken” individuals who together may make a perfect whole. Unfortunately, there’s a lot they have to go through together and apart before they achieve what they both don’t believe they deserve – a happily ever after. This is an engaging tale filled with emotion, drama and steamy passion. It’ll keep your attention from beginning to end, tugging at your heartstrings along the way. It’s quite a journey with a few twists and turns and bumps, but it’s well worth the ride. And just when everything seems to be working out, there’s more yet to come when Stamatis’s life takes an unexpected turn. We’ll have to wait and see if it’s for the good or the bad.
Everyone knows that I’m a huge Mafia fan. I’ve read a few and I can say that I loved every single one and the ones that were written by this author were my undoing.
SR Jones knows how to write a good boom. She knows how to make you shake with fear or sweat with desire… You’ll see…
The Betrayal is her latest release and explores the lives of Star and Markos.
This book can be read as a standalone but I advise you to read The Mafia Vows series first, The Debt, The Contract, The Promise and The Pledge. By doing so you’ll be able to understand this book better.
Star was picked as an Offering to be auctioned. For her community, that’s an honor but for her, it’s only a way to help her little brother. For her it’s an honor but…
Markos is a very reserved guy. He’s enigmatic, a mystery actually. He’s hiding so much… When he volunteers to help his friends…
OMG… Sweet Jesus… What… Why… How…
This book… Oh lord, this book…
It was perfect. It was peculiar. It was intense…
Stellar plot very well written, super dark, intense and dangerous.
These two are imperfectly perfect for each other.
It’s like two different sides of the same coin.
You see, each coin has two sides, and each side is different although you know that it’s the same coin.
That’s what happens with these two. They came from two different worlds, two very different mentalities and beliefs but at the de time they want you the same.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone but there were others that I saw myself crying and wanting to hold them.
In life, nothing is perfect so you must live one day at a time.
Drama madness betrayal, crime, punishment, and abuse are very present but we will find love loyalty, desire.
Overall it’s the perfect boom for guess two lost souls.
Thank you, Skye, for another masterpiece.
This book stole my heart a shattered it at the same time. It was perfect to read and I want more…and…
Well played with Stamatis…I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a dark mafia romance that isn’t for sensitive readers. We have sex and child slavery , cults and murders mentioned in the book..
The characters that the book revolves around Star and Markos are totally messed up…Markos grew up in an abusive family and is still emotionally scarred and Star was born and raised in a cult so that she was completely brainwashed with warped ideas about her sexuality and in what is right or wrong… a must read

Star was raised in a cult and trained to be a sex slave. When she is saved (although she doesn’t know it) by Markos, she is thrown for a loop since she was brainwashed. Now everything she has known isn’t true. While cooperating, she is getting closer to Markos. These two are both troubled souls and each have their own issues. Can these two make it together or will their issues come between them? Different twist on this story which shows how trust is earned, not given.

Betrayed by those closest to them!
by sewsummore
This book continues immediately after “The Pledge” where Star has been purchased at an illegal sex slave auction. Marco did not purchase her to use but to set her free, however she had been a member of a sect since before her birth and had been conditioned to accept her life of sexual servitude as the will of the Gods. At first unwilling to accept her change of circumstances, eventually with the help of a woman trained to de-program survivors in similar circumstances she does. From the beginning Star accepted Marco as her master, despite anything he could say to the contrary, she felt connected to him and her admiration for him made her trust him. Marco had felt an attraction to Star from the beginning, the scars from his childhood made him unwilling to allow his feelings to show but little by little she crept into his heart. When the time came for her to leave for a three month stay in a de-programing facility, she took his heart with her. This was a story that shocked me, the care Marco and his friends showed Star was something I would not have expected from members of a mob family but they were unstinting his their attempts to save her and other young women and boys in the Sects clutches. Does Marco and Star end up together, read the book to find out!

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Marko and Star have both had bad upbringing, Star was treated as a sex slave. Marko was abused physically and mentally. Betrayal, lost soles, heartache, lust, love and twist and turns. Love this series once you start you cannot put the book down.
Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

The beginning of this book is a little confusing it’s just strange I thought I was reading about a mob book romance and there is that but there is a creepy cult that has people believing there Gods all why selling and rapping women and there followers are brainwashed completely it happens in Greece and the local mob doesn’t like it so they decide to take it down. Star is one of there brainwashed members who doesn’t understand why her new owner Markos wont touch her the whole thing is a little uncomfortable until Star stops drinking the cult koolaid. Then the book became more easy to read. What I do get from the book is that there are some serious issues that both Star and Markos have to deal with before there in a good place to have a relationship Star needs therapy and Markos has personal demons. I also feel bad for Star her parents are very unpleasant her dad specifically but by the end of the book her mother was starting to break away from her husband and his fanatical ways.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
