Opposites attract, even with shifters.Being the Synod’s resident ballbuster hasn’t made Sylva the most popular of her kind, but it’s worth the opportunity to lead her people and help those who are like she once was: isolated, powerless, and afraid. But words fail her when her aversion to violence requires a protection detail—a tall, dark, and brooding bodyguard who has no problem fighting with … problem fighting with hands, fangs, or claws.
Harrison has spent his adult life protecting his kind—and guarding his broken heart. When he’s tasked with keeping Sylva safe from her former pack, the job should be nothing he can’t handle. But the closed-off, pacifist female makes him want things he thought he’d lost long ago.
Sylva fights her battles with words, but to stay alive, she needs to take lessons from a shifter who’d rather draw blood than speak. Harrison knows all too well that words can be as sharp as knives, but if he can’t convince his charge to trust him, she’ll be the one hurt worst of all. They say opposites attract, but in this case, if they can’t meet in the middle, it will get them killed.
A Shifter’s Bodyguard is a standalone wolf shifter romance in the Pale Moonlight series by an award-winning author.

It was ok.
The storyline develop the characters in a sweet way, and it is always refreshing when choices are not black or white, but require inner battles. Enjoyable.
These two had to get through a lot of past baggage to get to their HEA.
Tried but nothing special…sorry
I didn’t know how much I was going to like this one until I read it. Sylva wasn’t one of my favorite characters, and she still isn’t but I have a much greater appreciation for her. I still like the brothers more. I am glad she found someone she can be safe with. I am glad she is learning to open up and not having to have such a hard facade. I get why she is the way she is, but there is something about her pacifism that irks me. It only gets you so far and she has taken it to such an extreme end. However, this book helped her grow and Harrison was always my favorite of the two brothers. I am glad he found someone, we learned more about his history, and Sylva is exactly what he needs. She needs to be protected, but she will defend herself if need be. She isn’t the best at it because of her pacifism and pride. I am really proud of her growth in this book. I know I keep saying that, but it was such a huge point for me.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Sylva needed two bodyguards brothers Malcom and Harrison. Wow reading was hot and steamy, sweltering chemistry between Harrison and Sylva. This book had some twist and turns, rollercoaster of emotions that makes you want more.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. A Shifter’s Bodyguard by Marie Johnston is the fifth book in the Pale Moonlight series. I read this book as a drop-in and despite not having read the previous books, I was not lost. This read was sweet, spicy (Mature Readers Only) and evoked many emotions. The characters were well developed with wonderfully lovable flaws. Action packed with gasp inducing OMG moments, this story made me want to go back and rad the rest of the series to see what I had missed. While this portion of the story has resolution, there are a few open threads that will hopefully be addressed in future books! A fun and immersive read.

Book five in the Pale Moonlight series a well written story that kept me turning pages from the beginning. Sylva has so much to overcome from her past, Harrison comes to her aid when she is attacked in her home. He is then assigned to be her bodyguard until they can end the threat she is under. I want to read Malcolm’s story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
