Whoever said “Revenge is sweet” is a g*ddamned liar. There’s nothing “sweet” about the vengeance I want against Sophia Somerset. Because when this quick-tongued waitress with more curves than the real estate market makes off with my most prized possession—and the only item saving my company from collapse, payback is the only goal I have planned…at first. My only saving grace? The note she left … saving grace?
The note she left behind. And my proof.
Problem is: I can’t stop thinking about the adorably haphazard thief.
Taking my revenge against Sophia may not be sweet. But it sure is sexy.
If only I can save my company—and my traitorous heart—before it’s too late…
AUTHOR’S NOTE: THE KISS is a full-length, stand alone, enemies to lovers romance with suspense, humor, heat and tons of revenge. Enjoy!

The Note is the story of Noah and Sophia.
I have to confess that I had a hard time getting into this one but once in, it grabbed me and sucked me into the well plotted story. What a great storyline and well created characters. I loved the nicknames Little Bear and Big Bad Wolf. Many secrets are revealed. And the ending… Wow! Can’t wait for the next one.
I also love the fact that all books are interconnected.
Australian businessman Noah Quinn really didn’t get what he expected at all when he hooked up with feisty waitress Sophia Somerset following an evening of flirty banter. Not only did she pass out before the deed was done, her hangover the following morning didn’t stop her from making off with something far more valuable than she could have imagined.
Not everything is as it seems in this intriguing suspense and, in true Natalie Wrye style, the twists and turns will keep you on your toes. There’s lots of action, humor and heat, not to mention lies and deceit, which have the sparks flying. This author is certainly a talented writer but there are a lot of characters at play here and on occasion I admit I did get a little lost trying to keep up with them and the complexity of the plot. Nevertheless, an engaging storyline, appealing lead characters, together with humorous moments and a sweet, yet mysterious, ending made The Note an enjoyable read.
The story of Sophia and Noah takes us through some twists and turns. It keeps us on the edge of our seat for sure. I like Noah. He is hardened. He is spiraling out of control and has been for a while. But to see him realize that and grow and strengthen is to find happiness. Sophia is strong yet soft. She is fierce but still afraid of so much. She is a hard worker and does not let anything stand in her way when she really makes her mind up. The characters are fun and realistic and enjoyable. I love the family. The brothers are fun together and their dialogue can be funny but I admit that the beginning dialogue between two of the brothers did put me off, just a little.

Another intriguing, edge of your seat romantic suspense from one of my favorites! Sophia and Noah’s chemistry burns up the pages from the getgo. The Note is a standalone as with the other books in this series, but I suggest reading the books in order because you will definitely find a connection among them. As with all of her books, the characters are well developed and the plot is well thought out and moves quickly. Twists, turns, mystery, intrigue, sexy times — it’s all in there! Another 5+ star read!
Noah has returned to NYC to save his family business. No one knows how bad things are and Noah wants to keep it that way. He has a limited time to come up with something. He meets Sophia at the bar she works. A couple of drunks are giving her a hard time. They connect and he takes her back to his place. She finds herself in a desperate situation and takes something that isn’t hers: The one thing that can save his company. She leaves a note and that is the beginning of the dance between Noah and Sophia. Blackmail, secrets, sexual tension twists and turns. This is a page turner that will keep you interested. Great characters and an interesting plot. The last note scene is classic. I loved it. Can’t wait for the next adventure with this series.

Wow! This takes the hotness and revenge for someone to another level. The chemistry between Noah and Sophia is explosive and I swear at one point I thought my Kindle was going to combust. However, there is so much more going on. There’s mystery, suspense, vengeance and it all ties their story together. I loved it!

The Note is the fifth standalone in the Manhattan Nights series by the talented, Natalie Wrye. I have read all of her books and they just keep getting better and better. Each book in the Manhattan Nights series is about a different couple but they are all tied together through family, friends, and business so I do recommend reading the series. If you read The Kiss then you have met Sophia, Kayla’s roommate.
It all started with tequila and scotch. Sophia and Noah are strangers who are both having a rough night and get to chatting over some drinks. One thing leads to another and they end up at Noah’s place which was supposed to turn into a one-night stand but fate or tequila had other ideas. Noah didn’t end up with a happy ending but he did end up with a note from the woman who intrigued him. He didn’t even know her name but he had to find her. His company was on the line.
Sophia had no idea that making one mistake would change her life forever. Now, she was in a twisted game of cat and mouse with a man in a three piece suit. She hated men like him but he seemed so different and now, he was just like them all. Greedy. She couldn’t blame him for being upset with her. She did this to herself. Giving into temptation when she should have just walked away. Only her body still wanted to pull him. He might have been drunk but she saw his softer side. He wasn’t just a big bad wolf. Or was he?
Noah and Sophia’s relationship is full of twists, turns, sexy times, and playful banter. They have to work together in the streets of New York, Manhattan and the Bronx. They have a common goal but for different reasons. He wants to save his family’s company and she doesn’t want to see a jail cell. Will they find what they are looking for? Will they find more than they bargained for?
Overall…it’s another suspenseful read from Natalie. She definitely likes to add some twists and cameos into the mix. I thought Sophia was a badass and Noah was a sheep in wolf’s clothing. They have some obstacles that’s for sure and I can’t wait to find out more in The Lie!
Quotes:
Looks like you were always more Goldilocks than the Little Bear.”
It’s a city that’s toughened me in unimaginable ways, pieced together the beautiful mess that I am.
“I have to be honest: It looks like, to me, that we’re not auditioning for that ‘When Harry Met Sally’ remake after all.”
I’ve enjoyed The Note so much,it was brilliant, engaging, intriguing and suspenseful.
Sophia and Noah meet in a bar, they drink a lot of tequila and they go home together but the morning after their lives become more intertwined than they expected.
They couldn’t be more different, they grew up in different upbringings with the result that he is a beautiful prince and she is a broke weitress, but both of them have secrets they don’t want to reveal.
The sexual tension between them is present throughout the book but for the rough time our main characters are having they try to non act on it.
Will they have their happily everafter?Or their lives are too doomed to find an alternative to their past choises?
This is the right example of Natalie Wrye skills that don’t let the reader hate the bad “guy”,little bear, oh come on you’ll understand what I mean when you read this book.
I highly recommend it if you like a good suspense romance.
I’ve read numerous stories written by Natalie Wrye, and really enjoyed them, but The Note was just an okay read for me. I liked the pace, and the twists and turns kept me guessing, however I did have a hard time connecting with the characters. Something was missing between them. Some stories that authors write, your gonna love and some not so much and that’s alright, cause if the author writes the same thing over, you’ll lose interest in her books.
This is the fifth standalone in the Manhattan Nights series. You don’t have to read the other books, but I recommend it.
This is an enemy-to-lovers/fake girlfriend story with a pinch of revenge and blackmailing packed in a beautiful love story.
Noah and Sophia are attracted to each other but can’t stand each other to the same extent – at first. After a short night of attraction and sparks they notice, that they have nothing in common. But they are bound to each other by their secrets and and actions.
Their story developes slowly and is unexpected. Sparks are flying and I was rooting for them because they both deserved a HEA. Very well done!
Really enjoyed this book. An enemies to lovers romance with a unique twist. Full of drama, secrets, lies, deceit, betrayal, and so much more.
The Note by Natalie Wrye is a steamy and fast paced read that has tons of feels, revenge, enemies-to-lovers romance and that fairytale modern day twist feeling with this story. Sophia and Noah are a couple that will have you wondering what will happen- the rollercoaster ride of emotions will have the readers on the edge of their seats. There are twists, turns, secrets, humor, drama, angst, suspense, intrigue, romance and tons of heat. Get ready for a fantastic story with great characters and a fabulous plot!
