My thoughts about this book:
• Heather Moore created two interesting characters with lots of dimensions, Jana and Knox. Their romance touched my heart and I was completely immersed in their story.
• There was lots of witty banter that made the plot enjoyable and interesting.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt a part of the scenes.
• This was a clean read and I appreciated that fact.
I was given an advance copy of this book. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. This was another great book by Heather B. Moore.
Not Over You is the story of Knox Prosper, a bull-riding cowboy who returns home to Prosper, Texas to participate in the local rodeo. But his primary reasons for returning are to lay some ghosts to rest and to mend fences with his family.
Jana Harris, Knox’s high school sweetheart, is not happy in the knowledge of Knox’s return, even if it is just for a week. She never understood why Knox broke up with her in high school and was deeply hurt by his actions. When their past is dredged up, both are shocked when the truth is revealed.
Family issue, interference and revenge wreak havoc in the blooming relationship between Knox and Jana. Will they be able to weather the familial storms and make room for love in their hearts? (Hint: Of course they will! This is a romance book, after all!)
This novel is well written, with enough background details to make it a stand-alone read. The story flows well and it felt like reading about old friends. It did not detract from the book but I would have like a more concrete resolution with Jana’s family.
This is the third and final book in Heather B. Moore’s Prosperity Ranch Series. I have loved reading this series and falling in love with this family. This book is about Knox Prosper and Jana Harris, his first love. I loved how this book was about redemption for Knox. He made a lot of stupid mistakes in his life but he has decided to change and has done a lot to change but he recognizes that he has a long way to go. I love how once Jana and Knox realize that they broke up when they were young because of a misunderstanding, they are able to forgive and to try to be together again. I love the romance between these two characters and I loved seeing them grow. This is a series that I will read over and over again!
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
This is my first Prosperity Ranch novel to read and I think it does well as a stand-alone book. After reading the summaries of the first two I think I would have felt more connected to all the characters if I’d read those two first. But as a stand-alone it reads well as a short novel. The plot moves quickly, the characters are quickly defined to move things along and there are good twists that happen throughout.
I normally read ”proper romance” novels and while this book is definitely clean, it isn’t as tame as a ”proper romance”.
Content: passionate kissing, not explicit; plenty of PDA, talk of past mistakes- teen pregnancy and teen sex, not described.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
What happens when you can’t let the past go? Jana who makes the jam for her family business and writes the advice column for a Texas newspaper feels she has failed at everything starting with the guy that dumped her right before prom. Well guess what? He’s back and she wants nothing to do with him until she keeps finding herself helping him out. Loved reading how she works through her past failures to become who she really is inside.
Romance, clean, contemporary; Series, but stand alone read
Knox and Jana’s story was a great third book in this series. Knox, the black sheep in Book 1, is changing his life, coming out from an over indulging past, and wanting to set roots and find a heart home. Jana, has never gotten over Knox, but knowing, that it isn’t a place she should return to with Knox’s unsettled past and character. Knox’s redemption with his family, his daughter, and with Jana, was a gorgeous, heartfelt read. Knox’s turn around, sobriety, and character really come alive in this novella. Jana and his story was lovely, and so honest and genuine.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. My opinions are my own and in no way influenced by this gift.
This continuation of the Prosperity Ranch series holds true to expectations of a great story. Although it is in a series in can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series to get the full impact of the series.
Knox is a pro-rodeo bull rider who has made series mistakes in his life and is turning over a new leaf to be a better man, father and brother. He feels as if that is a long struggle but with Jana he feels it is possible.
Jana also struggles with feelings of being less due to mistakes of her past as well but Knox is a lost love she has been trying to forget but can she forget?
A great story of past mistakes, repentance and redemption. Where belief in oneself and love can make a better future for all involved.
After being introduced to Knox in the first Prosperity Ranch book, I wasn’t sure how much I would like him in his own story. But, Not Over You is a story about growing up, facing the past, making changes and forgiveness. I enjoyed the character development of Knox and Jana! It’s also fun to read updates on characters in past books and see glimpses into characters of future books. Can’t wait for book 4 in the Prosperity Ranch series!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is a clean contemporary romance, with a second chance trope. I liked seeing how Knox, who we get glimpses of in earlier books, has really worked to make necessary changes in his life, and he was pretty cute as he tried to woo Jana. This was a fun, quick read.
3.5 stars.
I read an ARC provided by the author/publisher. All opinions are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Knox and Jana-their dialogue was witty and enjoyable, and their chemistry was heated but not too much to where I was uncomfortable reading about them.
The side characters were all fun and entertaining enough without being two-dimensional; I hadn’t read the first two Prosperity Ranch novels before this one (the third in the series), but reading this, rather than making me confused, just makes me want to go back and find out the other character’s stories as well.
Enjoyable read!
This is the third book in the Prosperity series, and so far my favorite. When we got to know Knox in Holt and Macie’s story, he was not a likeable guy. I was prepared to spend the first part of the story with a jerk. So it was interesting to watch him already trying to deal with the consequences of a lifetime of poor choices, which I thought was done just enough without making it all about him. Jana also had some things to ‘fess up to and deal with. It was sad to see how different their lives could have been with a bit of communication and fewer mistakes all those years ago.
Favorite line: Wishing there didn’t have to be so many lessons learned and so much pain to get there. …Circling back to happiness. That, he was going to do.
As always, Heather manages to pack a lot into a short story, never ending with a cliffhanger, but leaving me wanting more!
Clean, well-written and well-paced, I recommend this book.
I received a free copy, and this is an honest review.
