I am going to blame it on driving in traffic while listening bu it took a while for me to catch the connection to It’s a Wonderful Life. These two were so sweet with each other. Jamie has done so much to help others it was great to finally see things going well for him.
This single dad romance was so sweet and addicting. Jamie and his daughter Mia were precious. Add in Stanton and his bumbling ways of trying to get close to both Jamie and Mia was adorable. An overall fantastic holiday read filled with wishes, hope, and miracles.
Eli Easton is one of my go-to authors. He never has failed to hold my attention. Most of you will know people like the characters he creates – unless you are living under a rock. If you have not been exposed to this author this would be a good book to start expanding your horizon.
I’m enjoying this series, and loved this addition to it. I love stories involving bookshops. Add in teachers and single dads, and I’m happy.
Jamie and Stanton are both very likeable, and I enjoyed their at first awkward friendship which then blossomed into something more. Stanton is very much out of his depth thrown into teaching a class of young children, and the scenes with him in the classroom were very realistic, with the children coming across as typical children, rather than stereotypes. I liked how his confidence slowly grew along with his relationship with the children. I appreciated that the story does address the issue of Stanton dating a parent of one of his students, as that’s something that needs to be dealt wth upfront.
The supporting cast are fabulous. Stanton’s mother Amelia rocks, and I loved the scenes between them, in particular the first one in the story. I also liked her role in the bit of plot twist later on. Mia, too, feels like a real six year old and I liked how she’s the glue that connects them all. I loved her and Jamie’s relationship.
I thought the bookshop felt like a character in its own right. The pageant was perfect, and magical.
The ending, and epilogue added to a very sweet satisfying read. Perfect for the Christmas season, and yet a story I’d enjoy any time of year.
Cute story with holiday feels, a nice pair of MCs and a great plot. Stands alone very well and was apleasure to read.
5 “CHRISTMAS FEELS” STARS
This book left me feeling warm and happy. You know a book is good when you close your Kindle, hug it to your chest, and sigh. Angels Sing is the perfect holiday read!
Jamie works at Raven’s Books and is raising his sister’s daughter, Mia. He is a character you can relate to very easily. I really felt for him! All I wanted to do was wrap him up in soft blankets and give him all the nice things. Thankfully that’s what Stanton also thought! Coach Stanton is in over his head when he’s asked to not only teach first grade but also put together a Christmas pageant. Stanton is just adorable. Or more like adorkable! I love a shy, awkward hero and while Stanton didn’t lack self confidence I loved how he was everything but suave in front of Jamie. But when the bookstore is in danger of closing thus taking away the man he’s falling for what can Stanton possibly do to keep Jamie and little Mia in his life?
Thankfully everything is possible on Christmas! The atmosphere is described so perfectly you feel like you’re there. Everytime I read a book by this author it feels like I’m reading about real people. Because they feel so well rounded. They’re flawed and silly and just someone you could meet in your day to day life. That’s what makes you connect to her characters so easily. Angels Sing is no different and combined with a set of fun side characters, slight You’ve Got Mail vibes (one of my favorite movies!) and a little Christmas magic this books leaves you with a big grin on your face!
What a great holiday story! Angel’s Sing was such a sweet romantic story with very low angst. Stanton and Jamie make a great couple but Stanton was my favorite person in this book. He is such a sweet character. Eli is one of my favorite authors and she did a wonderful job with this book.
At 24 years old, Jaimie Bailey is the young father of 6 years old Mia. He works at Bedford Falls’ bookstore, Raven’s book.
Stanton Potter is a fifth-grade coach and the son of the most powerful businesswoman in Bedford Falls. Stanton loved his job until he has to set up a pageant Christmas with first graders. Stanton isn’t good with songs until he meets the father of his student Mia and Stanton understand that maybe he can have more than a Christmas show.
Angels Sing by Eli Easton is book 2 in the Daddy Dearest series and can be read as a standalone.
I adored this book as much as book 1. Jaimie, Stanton and Mia were adorable.
I loved Jaimie; I loved his strength. Raising a baby by himself at 18 years old wasn’t easy for him, but he did well, his little girl is awesome and happy, Jaimie just need someone to love him, to be his partner. He didn’t expect that Stanton can be this man, not at first, but the more time they spent together, the more Jaimie realized that maybe Stanton can be the one for him.
Stanton is bisexual since college; he never really acted on it until Jaimie. For the first time in his life, Stanton is attracted to someone like he never did before. He wants Jaimie and Mia in his life, and Stanton is ready to stand up for them in front of his family, his friends and co-workers.
I adored them; they were so beautiful together. I had a smile during all my read, it was funny and sweet. The plot and the story were captivating and well written. I was hooked in the book from the beginning and I had a wonderful time with them.
I happily recommend this book. It’s like having a hot cocoa after a snowing day. It warms you from the inside.
Oh,poor Stanton! I could just imagine him, so adorably terrified of a class full of six-years old kids, convinced that they could smell his fear. How can the poor man go from coaching fifth grade to teaching first grade? And he has to organize a Christmas pageant of all things. Him,who can’t sing and doesn’t have a clue what to do.
But all this mess has a good side. The best, really. Because that’s how he meets Jamie and his daughter Mia.
And let me tell you, the way Eli Easton wrote their story is absolutely sweet and heart-warming. The more time Stanton and Jamie spend together, the more they realize how perfect they are for each other. I loved all the small moments when they both found new things to appreciate in one another. It’s not all smooth sailing, though, because they might have to separate before they even begin a steady relationship, but they pull through. They have an amazing support system , all of them endearing, and they have each other.
,bells chime and there’s happiness all around. I LOVED IT!
One of the things I look forward to each holiday season is the newest Eli Easton book and this year she definitely delivers with Angels Sing! This is a wonderful holiday story, bringing all the feels as the relationship between Jamie & Stanton develops. There is a bit of angst but that just makes the sweet parts that much sweeter. I loved the main couple but the side characters are awesome, especially Jamie’s daughter Mia. If you want a story to put you in the holiday frame of mind then this is definitely for you.
Jamie and Mia are an amazing duo. A duo that finds their perfect addition to their family. Jamie and Stanton’s relationship builds slowly but not, if you see what I mean. The attraction they both feel for each other is obvious to us, the readers, not so much to them. They aren’t sure the other is attracted or interested even. Silly boys! Soon enough though they figure things out and things finally got going.
The kids are adorable and the scenes with Uncle Billy and Amelia, Stanton’s mom , we’re very good as well. This book gave me all kinds of “feels”.
Along with all the cuteness of things and hotness between Jamie and Stanton, this was a terrific story. I loved the surprise at the end.
5/5 candy canes for me !
Sweet, fun, Holiday romance. I loved the characters. Each one was well done and believable. I loved Jamie and his appearance. There was just something about him I loved so much. and Spencer complimented him well. of course, Mia stole the show!
I love Holiday stories and this hit the mark. It is fun, sweet, easy to read, fast-paced.
If you like sweet romance, holiday stories, hot teachers, bookstores, out and proud characters, femme characters, and an allover feel-good romance. this is for you.
