*Author’s Note: This book was previously published under the title, Love’s Unending Grace while it was a part of Melissa Storm’s First Street Church Kindle World as well as Courted by a Soldier in The Rockwood Springs Series. Both versions were set in WWI but the book has been edited to remove references to that world and era and has been updated with new content, characters and historical information to reflect the civil war era. Names and places have been changed for historical accuracy.

A wonderful historical.
Jenna has written another wonderful historical this one is set in the civil war period. The author did a great job of using accurate information when writing and that just shows what a first-class writer she is. Hope and Davis where great characters and the story showed how deep in their faith these two lived. The author did not sugar coat her story, but how she wrote it was brilliant. I highly recommend excellent work.
A beautiful story off love and loss. Fun characters that pull you into the story and leave you caring for them. Hope and faith bring healing in this beautiful book of war and hardship.
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
I thought this was a wonderfully written story about the affects of war and alcoholism can affect a family. I also appreciated how the characters prayed for Hope’s father an how he finally turned himself around. The ending was a left open for Hope and Davis though a couple of their prayers have been answered. Looking forward to the next one. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Freed by Hope The Civil War Brides Series” by Jenna Brandt is a tale of one Hope Hammond is best friends with Faith Abernathy and has grown up around her brother Davis. And all Davis desires is Hope and to fight for the Confederacy, but Hope’s embittered father is dead set against the match…and his family is dead set against his enlistment for the Confederacy. What will Davis choose ?!? And for those behind the lines of battle…the hardships are harsh…as scarcity of provisions and deprivation all around them …Hope and her family suffer that ….plus her father’s descent into alcoholism and defeat….as the war has cost him his leg…and a son. Yet as the South falls around them ….Hope and her family and friends soldier onward…and pray for better days …Will Davis and Hope finally court and wed?!? Read and See! Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book
I have enjoyed reading this series. I love the setting. It really shows the hope and horrors of that time. I recommend this book. I found it very compelling.
Loved this story about Davis and Hope! I especially liked the way Jenna had Hope’s father realize his anger was only hurting himself and those he loved. God meets us where we are, as Luke found out when he was finally willing to listen. I want to know what happens next!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to write a review, and the opinion expressed is totally my own.
Davis and Hope has been friend since years but now just being friends isn’t enough any more, love is blooming. But not everyone is happy about that. Will the problems they’re facing keep them apart or will their hope and faith win at the end?
Entertaining Christian story.
I loved that the main characters basically had faith and trust and were
not afraid to follow their dreams. They were fortunate that they had his family’s support as well as that of their friends in the community as Hope’s father had become very verbally abusive after losing a limb and a son in the war.
What I did love about this story was the proposal and the wedding. That was so novel and unexpected. Nicely done!
The story, though short, is nicely written. It held my attention and interest and I enjoyed reading it.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of the rewrite and this is my unbiased review of it.
