Book two is more of book one and WAY hotter! I didn’t think it could get steamier, but it did. I had to put this book down and walk away after a couple of scenes. This has to be one of the best M/M/F books I’ve ever read. It’s more chess playing, it’s more of you the reader trying to figure out who’s good and who’s bad and everything in between. Again this book will leave you wanting more, and I have no doubt we’ll get the answers we need in book 3 (Emeralds). I love all three characters, Blair is such a strong female, she can hold her own in a room full of men trying to manipulate her it’s amazing. Ben is a real man fighting demons and trying to do what’s right. And Isaac, well I haven’t figured him out yet but he keeps me guessing through the pages.
I received an ARC in return for my honest review
Grenade by Annie Dyer is bk 2 in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy. In bk 2, it’s told from Ben’s point of view.
The prologue again sets up Grenade the reader knows what’s coming! Wow, this book reminds me of a good political game and/or a great chess game.
The story of Blair, Ben and Isaac continues to interweave throughout the story as twists and turns occur throughout. The feels get deep and emotions run strong for the 3. I was glued through the whole book, wondering what was going to happen, especially in certain spots. There were some secrets revealed but not everything. Everything in this rollercoaster ride of story led to the cliffhanger ending which means that book 3 “Emeralds”.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
Web of lies and deceit
If you love political thrillers, this book if for you! A maze of betrayal, lies, deceit. Who do you trust? Who are the bad guys, who are the good guys? The answers are never clear! This is book two in the Tarnished Crowns trilogy, and it’s recommended you read all three in the series.
Holy smokes. This book has all the heat. I’m not usually a fan of M M F but I absolutely love these characters. The storyline continued and kept the interest in the story and left you wanting more. It has a lot going on but in such a good way. Absolutely fantastic.
Holy hotness! I don’t know how I survived reading this without exploding myself. It’s so much more than the first book. The scenes are on fire. But more than that is the story. It’s still developing and this one is told from Ben’s point of view. We get to see so much more from his life and the way the three of them are navigating their present. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for the final book.
“Blurred lines. They should be redrawn.”
Wow. My poor heart has been pushed and pulled, squished and stretched and all together warn out.
Grenade (book 2 in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy) is told in Ben’s point of view.
“Blaire’s quiet, slowly swirling her fingers on me.”
It has some intensely steamy scenes. Its took that little spark of MFM from book one and blew it out of the water, and then evaporated that water right up.
Nice. And. Steamy.
“My hand sits on her hips, holding her. An anchor, but I don’t know who anchors who.”
You really get a look into Ben’s history, the emotional and physical baggage that have turned him into the man he is.
“I’ve always known what I was. ‘…’ We had little money, and survived on kindness. I’ve always known I was a liar.”
I love being thrown into all the twists and turns of the Tarnished Crowns world, and I am so looking forward to the final book, Emeralds.
“It’s an occasion, a milestone. A leap off a cliff into what the next year holds.”
Grenade is book two in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy and this time it’s told from Ben’s point of view. The prologue again sets up Grenade so you know what’s coming! You delve into Ben’s past in this book and you discover that Ben’s seen and done a lot and he trusts very few people! He will protect the people he loves to the ends of the earth. There were tears when I was reading this. So much hurt in his past. This story is truly amazing and has left me excited to see how this trilogy ends!
